Liz Earle Botanical Shine Treatment Review

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Treatment for frizzy, coarse or unruly hair

What the Company claims: A blend of red algae, cotton extract and sumac wax has been specially selected to smooth and tame even the most unmanageable hair, and an exquisite fusion of eight essential oils, including sweet orange and rose-scented geranium, plus vanilla extract, will leave your hair beautifully scented.

Massage into clean, wet hair after using Botanical Shine Shampoo. Leave for 10 minutes, then rinse. For an extra boost, leave for up to 30 minutes before rinsing.

Naturally active ingredients include red algae to help enhance the hair’s natural barrier, cotton extract to improve smoothness and sumac wax to smooth and tame even the most unmanageable hair, plus apple and orange extracts to boost shine.

MRP: £14 for 150ml (Approx Rs.1250/-)

Ingredients: Aqua (water), Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, Cetearyl alcohol, Calodendrum capense (yangu) seed oil, Glyceryl stearate, Glycerin, Vitellaria paradoxa (shea butter), Rhus succedanea (sumac) fruit wax, Parfum (fragrance), Citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) fruit extract, Kappaphycus alvarezii (red algae) extract, Pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Crambe maritima (blue seakale) leaf extract, Gossypium herbaceum (cotton) flower extract, Behentrimonium methosulfate, Cetrimonium chloride, Panthenol, Butylene glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Limonene, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Linalool, Benzoic acid, Phytantriol, Maris aqua (sea water), Dehydroacetic acid, Sodium hydroxide, Fructose, Glucose, Inositol, Sucrose, Trehalose, Isomaltulose, Trehalulose, Citric acid, Sodium citrate.

Now this though mentioned as treatment works both as a conditioner or a deep conditioner..

I have been using this from last year..I use this around once or twice a month depending on if I need it..I try to keep it a little longer than the normal conditioner..but have not kept it 30 minutes though..

It comes in long white tube packaging..and is normal thick conditioner like in texture..has a strong red algae smell though..

It definitely helps in controlling frizz..and gives hair a nice sheen and softness..but for me it also weighed down my hair..even if I reduced the qty..it still weighed down a little..or perhaps it is meant to give a straighter sleeker look..

Pros:

1. Softens and smoothens the hair.
2. Helps in controlling frizz.
3. Has an amazing ingredient list.
4. Paraben free and cruelty free.
5. Deep conditions hair amazingly well.
6. Gives a straighter,sleeker look.
7. Leaves hair shiny.

Cons:

1. Weighs down my hair.
2. I do not like the smell at all..red algae smell is the strongest here and I detest it.
3. Expensive.
4. Not available here. You can buy it HERE

Overall I quite love this conditioner..and the amazing ingredients it has..and the effect it gives to the hair..softer, smoother, frizz free hair..if you hair is more dry or curly, you did love it more..surely recommended.

Liz Earle Brightening Treatment Mask Review

Liz Earle Brightening Treatment Mask Review

What the Company claims: Problem: dull, lacklustre skin.

Solution: our fast-acting ‘minute’ mask instantly revitalises. Containing stimulating camphor oil and toning witch hazel to help give your skin a natural-looking radiance.

Use in the morning or whenever a quick fix is needed.

Naturally active ingredients include aloe vera to help cool and soothe, toning witch hazel and purifying white clay.

Not suitable for sensitive skin

Directions: Use whenever your skin needs a quick fix to leave it radiant and revitalised.

Apply to clean, dry skin. Leave for between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. Soak the pure muslin cloth in hand-hot water and gently wipe away residue.

Follow with Instant Boost Skin Tonic.

You will experience a slight tingling sensation. This is normal. However, as a common sense precaution, do not use on sensitive skin and avoid the lip and eye area.

Ingredients: Aqua (water), Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, Montmorillonite, Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) water, PEG-20 stearate, Silt, Prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, Panthenol, Cetearyl ethylhexanoate, Cetearyl alcohol, Cinnamomum camphora (camphor) oil, Parfum (fragrance), Citronellol, Hexyl cinnamal, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde, Butylphenyl methylpropional, Linalool, Lactic acid, Potassium sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Sodium methylparaben, Sodium propylparaben.

MRP: 50ml pump starter kit- £13.50
          50ml pump- £12.75
          50ml tube- £12.75
          15ml tube + 1 muslin cloth- £5.00

The kit consists of the mask and two muslin cloths. Its a short round pump dispensor. Since the dispensor is big..you need just a pump. You have to just spread a thin layer of it on face and keep it for 30 seconds to 2 minutes. It would dry off and you need to remove it with the muslin cloth which is to be soaked in warm water similar to the Cleanse and Polish.

This smells nice..It has witch hazel and camphor..so does sting a little for few seconds and is not recommended for sensitive skin. Though they suggest using the Instant Boost Skin Tonic..you can avoid it since already the witch hazel would tone your skin.

Pros:

1. Its the quickest mask or treatment I have seen till now. You just need a minute or two.
2. Has benefits of camphor oil, witch hazel water, sweet almond oil, aloe vera, green mineral silt and white clay.
3. One pump is more than enough..it would last long.
4. Tones and firms the skin.
5. Instantly brightens the face as claimed.

Cons:

1. Has parabens.
2. The effect is temporary..stays a day or two.
3. Availability is an issue. You can buy it here

Overall I did like this..but I wished the effect would stay longer or it would bring some change to the skin.

Liz Earle Daily Eye Repair Review

Liz Earle Daily Eye Repair Review

What the Company claims: Use this triple-action cream every morning after moisturising to help reduce the appearance of fine lines. Light-reflective particles brighten dark under-eye shadows, while SPF10 mineral sunscreen helps protect this delicate area from UV light.

Apply every morning as part of your daily skincare routine

Naturally active ingredients include moisturising borage, protective antioxidants beta-carotene and natural source vitamin E plus soothing echinacea.

Suitable for all skin types

Directions: Gently blend a small amount of Daily Eye Repair under and around the eye area as well as on fine lines around the mouth and forehead.

Apply every morning over your moisturiser.

Ingredients: Aqua (water), Tocopheryl acetate, PEG-20 stearate, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Titanium dioxide, Borago officinalis (borage) seed oil, Cetearyl alcohol, Panthenol, Hexyl laurate, Octyldodecanol, Propylene glycol, Echinacea angustifolia (echinacea) extract, Sodium lactate, Beta-carotene, Lactic acid, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben.

MRP: 7.25£ for 5ml and £13.75 for 10ml

It comes in a small tube form with a very small nozzle tip..which I think is nice..coz one gets the exact amount as required. Its a white colored lotion and has some light reflective particles which brighten the under eye area.

It keeps the skin moisturised and hydrated the whole day without leaving any greasiness…it brightens the under eyes considerably. I do not have puffy eyes but it has helped many in that too. Its has won many Beauty Awards and rightly so..

Pros:

1. Perfect tube packaging with a small nozzle.
2. Its travel friendly.
3. Has borage oil, beta carotene, Vitamin E and other ingredients which provide decent hydration to the under eye skin.
4. Keeps under eyes hydrated the whole day…and you would not feel any greasiness with it.
5. It does brighten the skin..with its light reflective particles and with daily use too.
6. Not overtly expensive..it can easily be compared to high end brands in quality.
7. Since its so light in texture..it can easily be used under a concealer.
8. Has sunscreen too…but SPF 10.

Cons:

1. It has to be used regularly..once you stop using..the effect goes away slowly.
2. Only available online. You can buy it here
3. It would not conceal as it claims..just brighten the under eyes more.

Overall I quite loved this under eye daily eye repair cream..but the only qualm is its to be used regularly..but that I guess I have noticed with most of the under eye creams..once you stop using it completely..it comes back to normal..so I do not blame this for that.

Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint is a new launch by Liz Earle and their first step into makeup after skin care. I told you about their new launch here.

It surprisingly looks like any other normal foundation..medium consistency but a little thick in texture compared to a tinted moisturiser. It gives light to medium coverage depending on the qty used. I guess the thicker texture is due to the oils present in it..but that would make this perfect for people with dry skin.

It has a blue tube packaging (which is patented ) with a narrow opening just for the right amount of product. The shade 02 Beige at first looked a little lighter for me..but when blended it looked fine. It does not have too much of yellow or pink undertones..its kinda neutral.

Pros:

1. It gives a nice dewy finish to the skin.
2. Has borage oil, avocado oil and Vitamin E.
3. Gives light to medium coverage depending on how much and how you use it.
4. It would be perfect for people with dry skin and who like a dewy finish.
5. The tube is quite handy and easy to carry along.
6. Has SPF 15.
7. Even though its rich and creamy, it does not feel too heavy.

Cons:

1. It has a little weird smell, mostly of the borage and avocado oils which does go away after a while.
2. Oily skinned would surely need to set it with a powder and it would not give you a matte effect..the shine would come back sooner.
3. Only 3 shades to choose from and there is no shade for the duskier lot.
4. Expensive for a tinted moisturiser.
5. Availability is an issue. It can only be purchased online.

Overall I did like it..but I think its better used in winters..and not in humid or hot climate. Its perfect for the dry skinned ladies ! But if you need more coverage you can skip this.

Our new Sheer Skin Tint is the natural bridge from skincare through to colour. It is rich and creamy like a foundation, yet so lightweight it glides effortlessly onto the skin, blending easily to enhance natural skin tones. We believe in exceeding our customers’ expectations, so just like our award-winning Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, Sheer Skin Tint delivers dependable, visible results for all skin types.

Designed for use all year round, our unique, high performance formulation leaves skin looking dewy, even and radiant, with the perfect level of coverage for every woman to achieve naturally beautiful skin.

First time, right shade

To support our ‘Progress not Perfection’ environmental values and our ‘Reduce, Re-use, Recycle’ campaign, when customers order Sheer Skin Tint by mail, we are providing samples of all three shades with each first purchase. This is to help customers ensure they select the right shade, first time – before they open their full size product, which will also help us avoid unnecessary landfill of good unused product.

Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint will be available from September 8th 2011.

£21.00/40ml in 3 shades;

Bare (for light skin tones)

Beige (for medium skin tones)

Beach (for medium to dark skin tones)

The Colour Story

Our journey in search of great skin began in 1995 with one simple goal; to create simple, fuss-free, high performance skincare that could be depended on every day, whatever your age or skin type. With that aim in mind we created our multi award-winning Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, which 16 years on, has changed the way women around the world in over 90 countries now cleanse their skin.

Today each and every one of our products continue to be made with the same level of care and devotion. Now we’re combining our heritage with the expertise of a specially chosen team of make up professionals, to create our much requested colour range.

Over the last 16 years our customers have been asking us to create a make up range that gives the same great results as our skincare. As a trusted beauty specialist, Liz has over 20 years of personal experience working with leading international make up artists for TV and photo shoots. Co-founders Liz and Kim also share a personal passion for natural-looking make up at home and work, all of which helps us to really understand what women want from their make up. This has ensured that our exciting next step is everything a woman would want and need: make up that really performs, works in harmony with and delivers the same dependable results as their Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare and looks natural, enhancing rather than masking their skin.

Our island home is the inspiration for the packaging design. Our own unique ‘marine’ colour and shimmering pearl finish reflect the way the warm summer sunshine gently filters down through the glistening, inky depths of The Solent. Our new logo design reflects our evolution into Liz Earle Colour.

How to use:

Apply to forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. Blend in with your fingertips. We recommend that you leave around 10 minutes for your moisturiser to sink in before applying our Sheer Skin Tint. A little really goes a long way. For a lightweight look and feel apply a very small amount. Sheer Skin Tint is buildable, so if you want more coverage apply another thin layer, rather than applying more at once.

Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint currently caters for light skin tones to medium-dark Caucasian skin tones; it will also be suitable for some Asian skin tones. As we develop the range further we will develop a wider range of shades for more ethnic skin tones.
