Lakme Sun Expert After Sun Skin Lightening Face Wash Review

Lakme Sun Expert After Sun Skin Lightening Face Wash Review

What a huge name..:p
It again is a part of the Sun Expert Range. And comes in the After Sun range of products.

Its transparent and gel like in consistency. It has small white granules kind in between which are very tiny..may be they are meant for exfoliation but they are too small and few in number to help in exfoliation. It again has a nice cucumber and lemon grass smell which lingers on.

Pros:

1. Gives a nice soothing feeling required right after sun exposure similar to Nature’s Co. Peppermint face wash.
2. Skin feels calm and relaxed from the heat…esp for people who suffer from sun burns and go red in the sun.
3. Has a nice smell which lingers on for a while.
4. Does leave skin soft and fresh as claimed.
5. I liked the yellow packaging..it looks very attractive.
6. Did not sting my eyes.
7. Did not leave an oily film or a stretchy feeling on skin..just normal supple clean skin.

Cons:

1. I am not sure of the lightening claim but it does help with tan and I liked the fact about it.
2. ‘Deep cleanses each pore’ sounds high a claim.
3. The tiny little grains in it are of no help…I do not know why where they included.

I think this face wash is perfect for people with sensitive skin and who suffer from sun burns…this would help their skin to soothe a lot.

Lakme Sun Expert SPF 24 PA++ Cucumber and Lemongrass Lotion Review

Lakme Sun Expert SPF 24 PA++ Cucumber and Lemongrass Lotion Review

Lakme has in its new sunscreen range both After Sun products and Sun Expert products..The After Sun Products include a skin lightening facewash, gel and a mask which would help get rid of the tan.

The sunscreen range is divided into SPF 24,30 and 50. All provide broad spectrum UV protection and PA + or ++ or +++
There is also one Body Lotion having SPF 24 PA++. Check out more at lakmesunexpert.com

Here I am reviewing the SPF 24 PA ++ Cucumber and Lemongrass Lotion.

I was already using the 55 ml bottle from 2 weeks and was going to review it soon and I got this in 20 gm tube.

Its a thick white lotion. I was amazed to see such a thick lotion at first as I expected it to have normal runny consistency. It has cucumber and lemongrass smell.

Pros:

1. Though its a thick lotion it has a light feel and gets absorbed real fast.
2. It has nice cucumber and lemon grass smell which stays on for 2-3 hours.
3. I liked the fact that it comes in three variants and is reasonably priced.
4. The small tube is very handy and travel friendly..and as its to be re applied in sun every 4 hours..its perfect to carry it along with you.
5. You do not need a lot of product as it spreads nicely and covers up each part.
6. Liked the yellow packaging.
7. No whitish cast issue was there with this.

Cons:

1. It has only SPF 24..so not suitable for swimming or a lot of sun exposure.
2. A white layer was formed on the opening of the bottle…though the tube looked fine.
3. Its not water proof or sweat proof..though it does not even claim to be..but it would not stay for long..and hence need to be re applied.
4. I do not have past sun damage or spots but I think its a high claim to make.

Would I buy it again: Yes…esp the tube one which is ideal to carry along.

Lakme Fantasy Shimmer Liner in Astral Green Review

Lakme had launched 8 shimmer liners in the Fantasy Collection.

All these are shimmery liquid liners with a cute small bottle and a long handle. The brush is normal liquid liner brush and not felt tip. I guess felt tip would have been easier.

Astral Green is a nice shimmery light green..These are not water proof..but stay on well for 3-4 hours.

Pros:

1. These are decent enough in consistency.
2. Easy to use.
3. Stay on well for 3-4 hours.
4. All 8 colors are very pretty and would look good esp the Midnight Moon and the Moonshine Top Coat.
5. Nice packaging.
6. Priced decently.

Cons:

1. I wish the quantity was a little more.
2. All colors together are never available at the counter..there are always only 4-5.
3. These are not water proof..so one has to be careful in that.
4. As these are shimmery..these are not for day time.

Lakme Shadow Artist Shimmer Stick in Astral Blue Review,Swatches

The Fantasy Collection had 4 shades in Shadow Artist Shimmer Stick..I have the one in Astral Blue which is anyways my most favorite of all the 4 shades.

These are Fat chubby eye pencils which can be used both as an eye pencil and as an eye shadow. It works great in combination with different colors of eye shadows. I used it here in my FOTD wit MAC Brash and Bold Pigment. You can mix and match it with different colors.

Astral Blue is a deep ink blue color..very similar to MAC Siahi Fluidline. The other colors are Moon Beam which is a silvery grey, Glimmer Green which is a light shimmery green and Starry Night which is a light night blue color.

Pros:

1. These are super creamy and soft..easily blendable and glides on nicely.
2. Works great with different eyeshadows too.
3. Dupes of NYX Jumbo eye pencils which are not easily available in India.
4. Economical in price.
5. Easily available at all Lakme Counters.
6. It did not sting my water line…so can be used there too.
7. I am in love with this ink blue color..!!

Cons:

1. These are soft and so smudge easily too if used alone.
2. You need a big sharpener to sharpen this.
3. Only 4 colors available…there should have been much more.
4. I guess if you need a pointed tip always and sharpen too much..these would finish off soon.

Lakme Fantasy Collection Enrich Satin Nail Color 249

Fantasy Collection had 6 nail paints from 247 to 252

 MRP: Rs. 90/- for

I have the shade 249. Its a milky pink color..very nice for daily wear. Would go well with both casuals and formals. The shade is exactly similar to Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick 131.

And here it is on me..

Please ignore my short nails and cuticles..I do torcher them during exams and they would take some time to be back to original again :p

The color is very sheer actually and 1 coat of it hardly shows up..you have to apply 2 coats for it to show up. But overall its a pretty color..and I liked it. I also liked 247 which is a champagne brown color and 250 which is a guava pink color. I have reviewed the True Wear Nail color here before.

P.S: Product sent by brand for review but it has not affected my opinion

Lakme Rose Powder Review

Loose powders are very good to give that light weight feel to the skin and help it keep oil free at the same time..
Lakme Rose powder is one of the loose powders for people on budget..

What the company claims: Foundation make-up in a powder format- gives a flawless radiant look.
Contains rose fragrance to keep you fresh, contains sunscreen to protect from harmful UV rays.
Gives a flawless radiant look.

Ingredients: Talc, Zinc Sterate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Titanium Dioxide, Aluminium hydroxide, Steric Acid, Perfume, Rosa Damascena Extract,Phenoxy Ethanol, Butyl Paraben, Ethyl Paraben, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben.

MRP: Rs. 80/- for 40g

There are two shades available in this…Warm pink (for wheatish to dusky skin tones) and Soft Pink (for fair skin tones). I got the Soft Pink one as I thought Warm would be a little yellow for me. Though it comes out almost normal on skin…like no much of a color seen. It has 5 holes on top for the powder to come out and an outer covering too.

Pros:

1. One of the nicest loose powder on a budget.
2. Absorbs oil and keeps skin matte for a decent time.
3. Very economical…you get quite a lot of quantity at 80 and it lasts a long long time.
4. Has a nice soft fragrance.
5. Helps set your make up in place.
6. Works for both people with dry and oily skin.
7. The shelf life is 2 years.

Cons:

1. This would not give any coverage if you expecting.
2. The box is not small to carry it along or while travelling.
3. It says it has SPF but not mentioned how much.
4. The powder wont come out easily from the holes and you need to tap it quite a few times.
5. The puff along with it is of no use..would give a build up and heavy look. I use a kabuki brush.
6. Has parabens.

Lakme Enrich Satin Lipsticks 132,138 Review, Swatches

Lakme Enrich Satin Lipsticks 132,138 Review, Swatches

Lakme Enrich Satin shades 131 to 138 are from the new Lakme Fantasy Collection…out of the eight..131 to 134 are non shimmery and 135 to 138 are shimmery.

132 is a nude pink brown…an MLBB shade for me…looks like second skin..one would not make out if I am wearing a lipstick..I loved this shade…

138 is a deep berry wine color with lots of silver shimmer..perfect for night time or with something traditional like a dark saree…

T-132 B- 138

Pros:

1. These are moisturising enough…you can easily skip a lip balm when using these.
2. The collection has more of pink this time than the usual browns.
3. Darker colors have a decent staying power of 2-3 hours and they leave behind a tint.
4. 131,132 and 133 are more on the nude pink side..those colors are very pretty for daily wear.
5. I love the shade 132 ! Its my MLBB and I am wearing it daily.

Cons:

1. The same old Lakme packaging..and with no names…just the numbers to confuse us more :/
2. It has an artificial smell and a weird taste which I did not like.
3. The lighter colors like 132 hardly stay for 1-2 hours without eating or drinking.
4. I would have preferred more colors in this range..and preferably non shimmery ones more.
5. Shimmer strays outside the lips in shimmery ones like 138.

The shades I have are Heena Gold and Aqua Green..Heena Gold had come with a previous collection and not mentioned on the site..though its available at the counters.

Heena Gold is a very pretty greenish gold color..and I fell in love with it the time I saw it. But the sad part is it does not show up on eyes at all 🙁

Aqua Green is actually a bluish green color and has a glossy sheen to it…Love it..looks amazing on ht lower lashline esp.

Lakme Earth Rose Trio Blush Review, Swatches

Lakme Earth Rose Trio Blush Review, Swatches

Lakme Earth Rose Trio Blush was a part of the Gypsy collection of Lakme..It comes in an absolutely stunning flower design and has three colors..I think every blogger around has this beauty by now…and if you don’t..get this as soon as you can.

What the Company claims: A palette of complementing earthy shades that are super easy to apply and perfectly buildable. The silky smooth highly pigmented formula allows for effortless, uniform application blending in easily for a gorgeous glow. The three shades complement each other, to create endless options for defining, highlighting and accentuating features.

MRP: Rs 600/- for 13.5 g

It comes in a round big packaging with pretty outer carton too..it does not have a brush or mirror. It has this flower shaped design..Is’nt it cute !

The shades are :

Very Natural rosy pink (I love such natural flush to the cheeks kinda shades)
Light Peachy Brown with some fine golden shimmer
Plum Brown (can be used for contouring too)
T-B: Brown, Peach,Pink

And all three combined also give a nice peachy pinky color.

The texture and quality is very good with Lakme this time..probably coz its made in Italy.

Pros:
1. Packaging and design is super pretty.
2. All three are stunning…the brown can be used for contouring and the pink and peach as blushes or all three combined for a peachy pinky glow 🙂
3. The price is reasonable considering we get three different pretty blushes.
4. The texture and pigmentation is quite good !
5. Peach shade has some fine shimmer but does not look OTT.
6. The quantity is good enough..13.5 g is going to stay forever for me.
7. Stays for a good 6-7 hours.

Cons:
1. It was a Limited Edition blush..so I am not sure of the availability now.

No other cons..3 blushes for 600 are a steal..and that too such pretty colors and very decent quality texture, pigmentation and staying power wise.

4. Available everywhere..even at the chemists.
4. Economical.
