Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel Review, How to Use

By Sanchita

INTRODUCTION – Hello everyone. This is probably one of the bestselling product from the brand and used by every skin. One of the disadvantages of having an oily skin is that you have to prevent making it oily while moisturizing it. This is because the oiliness often leads to severe breakouts. My skin is both oily and acne prone. Having used this Aloe Vera Gel for a year now, I can surely say it has worked for me here is my detailed review on the product.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – Aloe Vera Gel for natural beauty, safety and useful for removal of pigmented spots.

Ingredients– Aloe Vera 90% W/V, Base Material – Q.S., Permitted Colours – Tartazine Yellow and Brilliant blue, Vitamin E, Fragrance and Preservatives Q.S.

PRICE – 75 INR for 150ml

MY REVIEW

The Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel comes in a transparent plushy tube with an orange flip open cap. The transparent tube enables you to see through how much product is left on the tube. It is also available in a smaller pack but the bigger tube is better if you ask me. The packaging is simple and nice and I have travelled with this tube for a number of occasions and it has never disappointed me at all. The aloe vera gel has the consistency of a clear gel with a greenish tinge in it, thanks to the use of colors (see the ingredients). I feel the addition of colors were absolutely unnecessary because we all are aware of the fact that raw aloe vera gel is itself clear and thus green color was of no use. The product has a faint aloe vera smell with a refreshing aroma but it is not going to irritate the nasal senses at all. Even on the skin, it stays for an hour or half and then fades off.

You require a very less amount of product and only a pea size amount will surely suffice for face and neck. The product has a slimy texture in a gel form and spreads well on the surface of the face. Initially, for about 2-3mins you will feel as if it is slimy and sticky on the skin but after that time, it gets completely absorbed into the skin, with a satin matte finish and yet hydrating at the same time. It gives a soothing and cool sensation to the skin right after you apply. Thus, it is a great product when the skin is literally scorched after being in long hours under direct sun.

Around the staring of 2015, I faced severe acne problem and had to visit a dermatologist. I was strictly directed not to use any kind of product except for the medicines he gave me. Now, funny part is after having those medicines they dried my skin like parched land and my skin felt stretchy and dull all the time. I was little afraid of using any moisturizer but on a suggestion from a friend, I started using the Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel. To my surprise, it never broke my skin out even after a year and half. It hydrates my oily skin, prevents the acne and works very well before applying makeup as well. However, it doesn’t cures acne or any kind of skin pigmentation. I do suffer from slight pigmentation around the mouth but it is still persistent and the aloe vera gel didn’t do anything about it. For winters, I add 2-3drops of vitamin E oil or any facial oil with it and massage onto the skin.

You can also use this gel for massaging the skin. Since it remains slimy for some time, massaging the skin increases the blood circulation and gives a natural radiance to the skin. I have also used the Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel for under eyes as I have dry eye area. It nicely hydrates the area but only for around 2-3hours and then you have to really it again. For oily eyelids, it is a great option. You can use the Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel for body lotion when you don’t want anything too hydrating. Just make sure not to step out of the house without sunscreen for face and body.

WHAT I LIKED

1. Nice and hygienic packaging.

2. Gel form and gets readily absorbed.

3. Works for every skin type.

4. Prevents acne.

5. Cools down the sunburnt skin.

6. Hydrates the skin without making it oily.

7. Reasonable price tag.

8. No availability issues.

WHAT I DISLIKED

1. Does no enhancement to the texture of the skin.

2. No effect on pigmentation.

3. Added colors.

RATING – 4/5

Quality: 3.5/5

Value for money: 4.5/5

Availability: 5/5

OVERALL – All in all, Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel gave me a good experience for an inexpensive face moisturizer, body lotion and massage gel and I am really happy with the way it has worked for my skin. It is also available very easily now.

Himalaya Herbals Foot Care Cream Review

Himalaya Herbals Foot Care Cream Review

By Nidhal

Chances are your feet would be the most ignored parts of your body and you’d know of it already. Spare a thought for them. You wake in the morning, head to work, slog yourself all day, head back home all tired and drained and if there is a wee bit of energy left, you’d spruce up your face and neck and hit the pillow. But what about your feet? Once glance at them and in all probability, you’d throw your hands up in the air and disown them for their hideous semblance 😛 Won’t you?

Cracked feet is one woe that makes us regret not paying heed to our feet but wait, do not fret. There is still time, to turn the clock back. How? Well, Himalaya Hebals is here with its Foot care cream to allay this problem of yours. Let’s see how Himalaya Herbals Foot care cream fared for me

PRICE- Rs 95/- for 50 g

DIRECTIONS FOR USE- Wash your feet with lukewarm water and a soap-free cleanser. Pat dry. Apply Himalaya herbals foot care cream over them. Massage gently and allow it to dry. Repeat twice daily once after bathing and once before bedtime. Consult your doctor if you are a diabetic with any inflammation or irritation on your feet.

INGREDIENTS- Each gram contains Madhu (honey) 12 mg, Extracts of Haridra 9curcuma longa) 11 mg, Salarasa (shorea robusta) 9 mg, sunthi (zingiber officinale) 9 mg, methi (trigonella foenum- graceum) 9 mg

Key ingredients:

Sal Tree extract is used as an ingredient in ointments for skin diseases and in ear medicines. Its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties help heal cracked heels.

Honey, with its bactericidal and antiseptic properties, is extremely important in Ayurveda. Used in a variety of medicines, honey is also an effective moisturizing agent.

Turmeric has been used as an antiseptic for centuries. The herb also contains strong anti-inflammatory properties, which soothe your feet gently.

Fenugreek has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicines and is an excellent moisturizer, specially formulated to hydrate dry skin. Applied externally, the herb is also beneficial for boils, abscesses and ulcers.

Ginger is used externally as a local circulatory stimulant which keeps the feet warm, preventing the skin from cracking due to the cold.

INACTIVES– Methylparaben IP, propylparaben IP, Bronopol IP.

WHAT IT CLAIMS- Himalaya’s Foot Care Cream cares for your cracked heels and rough feet with natural ingredients. Enriched with the goodness of Honey, Turmeric, Fenugreek seeds and Sal Tree extract, this cream leaves your feet feeling soft in one week.

MY EXPERIENCE-

Packed in a simple plastic tube with a cap on top, the packaging of Himalaya herbals foot care cream is simple and hygienic to use. Despite regular use, the cap did not lose its grip which is appreciable. In a nutshell, it is up to the mark in terms of packaging. Nothing to go gaga over but nothing to criticize as well!

The cream has a slightly thick texture with a pleasant (herbal) fragrance. It is not too strong or long-lasting so, those who have a sensitive nose or dislike its fragrance, need not bother. It won’t last long. The cream spreads conveniently on one’s heels and with a little massage for 5 minutes, it seeps well into the skin. One or two uses won’t throw any significant results but dedicated use for a week will render you with softened heels. My heels were a little cracked and they were ‘healed’ (pun absolutely intended) in that time frame completely. I used it twice a day- once after having a bath and once during bedtime. I am quite sure that given its efficacy, it is capable of healing heels that are much more cracked than mine. Of course those with really cracked heels, need to give it more time. You damaged it in the first place, now give it some tender love and care too 

On the flip side, it has parabens so, I won’t use it after it cures my cracked heels. This is effective as a ‘remedy’ but to me, not as a permanent beauty treatment. I’d rather stick with my oil blend once my feet are cured. How thankless of me!

GOOD-

1. Does what it claims to that is, heel cracked feet.

2. Readily available

3. Economical pricing

4. Travel-friendly

5. Mild aroma which won’t exasperate those not fond of products laced with fragrance

BAD-

1. Contains parabens, so it won’t be a “long-lasting” beauty fix. At best, use it if you have cracked heels to cure them and then opt for a natural beauty fix.

RATING- 4.5/5

Editor’s Note: My mom has deep cracked heels and I will definitely suggest her this. She doesn’t use foot creams regularly, always forgets. I hope she uses this and it helps her. I also like the Oriflame one.

Touch Nature Lemongrass Essential Oil Review, Benefits, How to Use

Touch Nature Lemongrass Essential Oil Review, Benefits, How to Use

By Nidhal

They smell heavenly. They are perfect pick-me- up items to uplift your senses and lull you into a soothing slumber. Popularly used in aromatherapy sessions, essential oils, EO for short are highly concentrated, potent and therapeutic oils that need to be necessarily blended with a carrier/base oil for external use (and they are strictly not meant for internal uses). A base oil is simply any oil that mellows down the potency of the essential oil to the extent that its goodness isn’t reduced but it becomes conducive for use on skin.

The bottom line- Always, without fail, dilute essential oils in a base (or more than one) oil such as- virgin coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil (EVOO in short), virgin sesame oil and so on and so forth for use on skin/hair. Also, add only a few “DROPS’ and not teaspoons/tablespoons of the essential oil into the carrier/base oil. You stand the risk of scalding your skin if you add more than a few drops of essential oil to the base oil.

With these basic ideas in my, I zeroed in on TOUCH NATURE NEPAL LEMONGRASS ESSENTIAL OIL one fine afternoon as I was strolling the streets of Kathmandu, Nepal in 2014 🙂 The people are the epitome of courtesy , warmth and civility by the way. Coming back to the topic, let us begin with how the essential oil fared for me and how I used it for my skin and hair.

PRICE – 350 INR for 10ml (Buy similar from Soulflower HERE)

DIRECTIONS FOR USE- Dilute in a base/carrier oil of your choice, depending on your skin’s condition and use topically.

INGREDIENTS- Pure lemongrass essential oil

WHAT IT CLAIMS- Lemongrass (Cymbopogon) is a perennial plant in the Poaceae grass family and is native to the tropical and subtropical area of India, Cambodia, Indonesia, China, Guatemala, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. It flourishes where the soil is slightly sandy and the climate moist and war. Lemongrass essential oil has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic, anti-oxidant, astringent and diuretic properties.

MY EXPERIENCE-

Packed in a minuscule glass jar with a plastic cap on top and a layer of plastic covering with already perforated holes inset, the packaging of the essential oil is simple, spillage-free and travel-friendly. Yes, the provision of the double layer packaging makes it easy to carry without the fear of leakage. However, I wish a dropper was furnished so that drawing out the oil would have been easier. So, that is my input.

The oil has a riveting aroma. It uplifts you truly! The oil does not have a greasy/oily/thick texture but is fairly runny (as I see). One is not supposed to put it on one’s skin without dilution hence, I never risked doing the same.

FOR MY SKIN – I blend 3-4 drops of this lemongrass essential oil into two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and then, massage it on my skin especially after a bath for that ensures better absorption 🙂 Result? My skin feels hydrated, smoothed out and softened throughout the day besides emanating a lovely aroma that keeps me fresh

FOR MY HAIR- I mix 2 drops of this lemongrass essential oil with 2 tablespoons of virgin sesame oil (which is slightly warm for I prefer hot oil massages). Never mix the oils and then heat the resulting mixture. Do not even heat virgin sesame oil too much else or it may emit flames of smoke, indicating that all its goodness is going in for a toss. Simply heat the virgin sesame oil for a minute or two on LOW FLAME and then after a minute or two, add 2 drops of lemongrass EO. Mix well and apply on your scalp.

Keep it overnight and then apply a mask (optional step) the next morning, shampoo and condition as usual. You will end with shiny, hydrated and softened hair which I did  Oh yes, as far as my experience goes, I find it suitable for use by all skin types except those with excessively dry skin. All hair types can go for it.

GOOD-

1. Riveting aroma. It sends one’s olfactory senses into a tizzy. In one word- Heavenly 

2. Well-packaged

3. Well-priced. Most essential oils are within this range so, one is not being overcharged.

4. Perfect for aromatherapy sessions.

5. Can be added to hair masks with a foul odour to camouflage the smell.

6. Can be added to face masks in order to elicit a soul-stirring aroma.

7. Imparts a glow. I have added a few drops of the same to extra virgin olive oil and used on my face and neck (which is dry)every night for two months. Hence, can vouch for it. Please note, I said “drops”.

BAD-

1. Very difficult to find. I have not been able to find it in India. It is obvious since it is made in Nepal but even if searched online, one is unable to find to find it.

Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream Review

Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream Review

By Sanchita

INTRODUCTION – Just when I started working out, I thought of using the Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream simultaneously because I already have way too many stretch marks around my hips and thighs. I knew that these stretch marks are simply going to aggravate once I start off with full-fledged workout session. Having used the cream for about two months now, here’s my review on the product.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – Johara Body Firming AntiCellulite Cream is a fresh, light weight, fast absorbing cream that visibly reduces the appearance of cellulite (Orange peel skin) within 4 weeks of regular use. Rich in regenerating & firming plant extracts like Fors LeanCG, Boswellin Super, Cosmoperine, Caffeine & Amaranthus that helps to restore body’s youthful tone & improve firmness & elasticity of the skin. Other ingredients such as Jojoba seed oil, Horse chestnut seed extract (Venocin) & Olive fruit oil revitalizes the skin texture and leaves skin feeling soft and satin smooth.

Paraben, Sulphate, Formaldehyde, Synthetic dye Free, Halal Certified, Dermatologist Certified, Suitable for Sensitive skin

INGREDIENTS:

PRICE – 900 INR for 125g

MY REVIEW

The Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream comes in a rather large plushy tube which is creamy in color, along with a flip open black cap which is pretty sturdy. The opening of the flip open cap dispenses the right amount of product, avoiding any mess or excess. Though the tube looks slightly big, it is a perfect pick for travelling. It is light weight, sturdy and doesn’t mess up at all. Overall, I really like the packaging.

Coming to the texture and consistency, it is has a creamy consistency which leans on the thicker side. The smell is artificial and creamy but nothing that would hurt the nasal senses. Once you blend the product onto the skin, it simply refreshes with aroma and then fades off.

The cream takes some time to blend but it does merge with the skin with some nice massage. Initially, I simply used to apply and blend and the cream used to look oily on the skin. However, with the passage of time, I thought of massage a good amount and saw that it works better that way. Massaging the cream has its own benefits. Massaging helps in blood circulation in that part of the body and also reduces the stretch marks. Once blended onto the skin, the area feels slightly warmed up which is very noticeable in summer.

Coming to its effect of reducing stretch marks, I didn’t notice anything till a month. I have been quite consistent with the workout but even after losing some kilos I didn’t notice the increasing appearances of the stretch marks. It was simply after 40-45 days when I noticed that the stretch marks around my thighs slowly started vanishing. The skin also looked much toned and even.

However, the perfect toned and firm was still to come. The cream also works slightly on double chin as I notice the pictures looked pretty good as far as the chiseled look is concerned. There was no side effect of the cream on the skin throughout the time I used it.

The ingredient list of the Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream is pretty impressive. It is enriched with Fors LeanCG, Boswellin Super, Cosmoperine, Caffeine & Amaranthus that are naturally endowed to improve the texture of the cream and provides firmness and elasticity. Abundant quantity of Jojoba, Olive, glycerin and other fruit oils are added which adds a nice layer of hydration to the skin that also contributes to the enhancement. In fact, the product is paraben, sulphate, formaldehyde, synthetic dye free and also halal certified and dermatologist certified – which makes it a perfect pick for sensitive skin as well.

OVERALL – Johara Body Firming Anti Cellulite Cream is an excellent choice if you want to reduce the stretch marks and add a nice layer of hydration to the skin.

WHAT I LIKED

  • Nice packaging.
  • Creamy texture.
  • Blends well.
  • Reduces stretch marks.
  • Hydrates the skin.
  • Impressive list of ingredients.
  • Paraben, Sulphate, Formaldehyde and Synthetic dye Free
  • Halal Certified and Dermatologist Certified

WHAT I DISLIKED

  • Takes time to show results.
  • Pricey
  • Doesn’t firm the skin completely until you rigorously workout

RATING –4/5

Quality: 4/5

Value for money: 3/5

Availability: 3.5/5

Editor’s Note: This sounds quite good, but agree anti-cellulite products do need a lot of time in general to show results.

Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque Review

Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque Review

By Pallavi

Hello Lovelies,

Here I am back with yet another skin care product. By now you might have understood that I am a big skin care junkie. I buy more and more products of skin care than makeup. Because I really believe that healthy skin is the key to beautiful skin. And in summers I love to use face packs. After a long tiring day my skin becomes so pale and tired that I need something to boost and revive my skin.

And that is the time when I am in urgent need of face packs. And this is one of those purchases – Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque.

Price: Rs. 449 for 100 ml.

Ingredients:

Directions to use: Begin by splashing some water on your face. Now, squeeze out the mask from the tube. Dilute the mask a bit with water. Spread the mask all over your face. Let it dry for some time say 15-20 minutes. Now, rinse away your face with water. You may be in need of more water for this clay based face mask. So, wash your face thoroughly.

What the brand Claims: Like the special clay masks that were a favourite with the Egyptian goddess Cleopatra, our French Red Clay mask never fails to soften your skin, preserve its complexion and impart a natural glow. It is a gentle paste of French Red Clay, which is an absolute powerhouse of iron and other minerals! Best suited for normal to oily skin types, it cleanses, detoxifies and exfoliates the skin, leaving it highly refreshed and toned. The clay is blended with Rose oil, virgin Coconut oil and the balancing Cedar wood essential oils. As the oils further nourish the skin, Turmeric powder and Sandalwood give it a distinctive radiance.

My experience with Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque:

The Packaging of Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque is very simple and travel friendly. It comes in a medium sized tube packaging which has product details written all over it. The tube has a wide cap at the top which needs to be twisted so that the face mask comes out. You need to squeeze the tube lightly. A very little product is required per usage. So, a single tube will easily last you for months.

Now, coming to the texture part. The clay based face masque is quite hard and not that easy to spread. So, you need to dilute it with water so that it spreads easily. After spreading it on face it will take some more time than the usual face masque to dry. Once it dries you can notice a clean and clear skin. You can also notice some redness around your nose area in case you have a sensitive skin.

And if you have a dry skin then you should pat some moisturiser on your face immediately after washing using this face pack. Yes, girls this face pack is a bit drying. But all clay based face masques are i believe.

Good about Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque

1. Goodness of natural ingredients

2. Travel friendly packaging

3. Price affordable

4. Little product required per usage

5. Cleanses face effectively

6. No breakouts

Bad about Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Masque

1. Not easily available

2. Dries out your skin too much

Rating – 4/5

Editor’s Note: I love clay based face masks Pallavi, this sounds good!

Have you tried any French Red Clay Masque? Which is your favourite?

Top 10 Products For Glowing Skin, Prices, Buy Online

By Archana

Healthy, clear, radiant and glowing skin – this is what every girl wishes for. Some call it fairness, some call it whitening, some say tan removal, but the end result of what we all desire is same. Here are ten products which work effectively to help you get a glowing skin. I have very sensitive skin and all these products work well on them. I will categorize them into three sections – Save, Spend and Splurge. So that you can pick the one most suitable for you.

SAVE:

1. Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Range:

Hands down, my first personal recommendation. Whenever I end up with any skin problem, dull and tanned skin and nothing else works, this is my go to formula. The most effective ones are the Whiteglow night cream, Whiteglow scrub and Whiteglow serum. You can also try the Whiteglow facial kit which I found very useful for a Sunday evening pampering to go to office with a fresh, tan-free and glowing face on Monday. Though the name mentions “Whiteglow” which scares someone into thinking of whitish, artificial fairness, this is nothing like that.

Day and Night Kit, MRP: Rs.720, Facial Kit, MRP: Rs.531

2. Banjara’s 15 Minute Gold Face Pack:

You might be surprised to see Banjara’s in the list. I have not seen much results with their products. But their face packs work very well and they are very affordable. Their recent launch of Gold Face Pack took me by surprise as I got it without much expectations. My friend used it as part of her pre-bridal regimen and swears by it. It gives an exact parlour facial-like effect – clear, glowing skin and also the effect lasts for even 3-4 days which is the most important factor.

Price: Rs.95 for 50g.

3. Aroma Treasures Aloe Vera Gel:

You might be wondering why an aloe vera gel is listed in this. But this one from Aroma Treasures has worked really well for me compared to others. Additionally, it is enriched with essential oils of lavender, chamomile and vetiver. It is non-sticky and hydrates the skin well giving a translucent, healthy glow. Also excellent for making hair packs. 🙂

Price: Rs.96 for 125g and Rs.321 for 500g.

4. Himalaya Clear Complexion Whitening Day Cream:

Himalaya has been a trusted brand for years and they recently launched this new day cream. It contains liquorice and other ayurvedic key ingredients which help to lighten skin tone and give a clearer complexion. It is also paraben-free.

Price: Rs.250 for 50g.

6. Just Herbs Fair e Mulethi-Khus Skin Lightening Gel:

The best deal for oily-skin people. It contains a blend of many Indian herbs which help to detoxify the blood and boost circulation thereby giving a healthy natural glow from within. Just Herbs have a whole list of awesome products. Also try out their Petalsoft Anti-Tan Rose Face Pack and Instaglow Almond Complexion Pack. I love the brand and psst… if you haven’t checked out their website, do so now. You will love it and they also send samples when ordering from the site. 😉

Price: Rs.495 for 50g.

7. Fuschia Arabian Jasmine Anti-ageing Night Cream:

I won this in a contest. Fuschia is a new beauty startup offering natural, handmade, paraben-free products. Though this is mentioned as an anti-ageing cream, it has actually helped me to get a clear and healthy skin and lightened pigmentation. They are still improvising on their formulas I guess, as I now see them in different packaging and their body scrub which I got now feels different from the one I got before. Its good to see such new natural, toxic-free brands coming up in India. I also heard they are expanding on their products line bringing serums and stuff. Sounds exciting!

Price: Rs.475 for 50g.

SPLURGE:

8. Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Miraculous Ayurvedic Night Serum: (More Kama Reviews HERE)

This has raving reviews online and works for all skin types though it is oil-based. Made from pure saffron this helps to fade spots, smoothens fine lines and gives a healthy glow from within. Though, Kama Ayurveda has been hiking the price recently, seeing the growing demand. I would go for their Nalpamaradi Thailam Skin Brightening Treatment which gives very similar results, but at a decent price.

Price: Rs.1890 for 12ml and Rs.595 for 100ml.

9. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate: (Review HERE)

One of the most popular product with raving reviews in the beauty world. It is a potent 99.8% natural serum and paraben-free. Its like a magical elixir from the Harry Potter world which gives you your dream skin overnight ;). But the price…sigh. 🙁 Agree one bottle of it lasts pretty long, but still…

Price: Rs.3800 for 30ml.

Buy online HERE

10. L’Occitane Immortelle Brightening Essence:

And finally on the list – L’Occitane Immortelle, the closest to heaven you can get. I don’t have to say a word. My CEO uses them 😉 If you wish to try their products, you can visit their spa center too. Just pure luxury and indulgement. But I don’t know why they aren’t much active online in India. I have subscribed to their US and Indian mailing list on the website. Though I get many emails with attractive offers from the US site (which is of no use to me), there are no offers in the Indian site. 🙁

Price: Rs.4590 for 30ml.

So these are my picks to get back your healthy, natural, glowing skin. Which are your favorite ones? Please share in the comments section below.

Editor’s Note: I personally absolutely love the Kumkumadi Oils and Kiehl’s MRC!

Raw Rituals Ethereal Face Serum Review

Raw Rituals Ethereal Face Serum Review

By Nidhal

Living in a metro was never easy. Admittedly, one has better access to a number of amenities but with all this, some uninvited guests in the form of – dirt, dust, pollution, grunge, grime and what not keep visiting our skin 24*7 🙁

To battle them, our first weapon is those eye-pleasing chemical-laden products that look at us enticingly from the shelves of the stores we throng to rescue our skin. Thanks to the paucity of time at hand and the desperation to rid ourselves off those skin woes, we add those rubbish products to our shopping cart. Months pass by and the products do more harm than good. Disenchanted, we start thinking that now the clock cannot be turned back. THIS is where we falter.

We always have organic products at our service to ride us off our skin woes. I admit they take time and patience but the end results are worth waiting for 🙂  In line with that thought, I zeroed in on RAW RITUALS ETHEREAL FACE SERUM one fine day. Let us see if it did anything praiseworthy to my skin or not.

PRICE- Rs 400/- for 8ml, Rs.750/- for 15ml (Buy HERE)

DIRECTIONS FOR USE- Take 3-4 drops of the serum and massage onto your clean face and neck in circular motion till the oil is completely absorbed.

INGREDIENTS- Sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, argan oil, carrot seed oil, rosehip oil, cucumber seed oil, lemongrass essential oil, bergamot essential oil, rosemary essential oil, grapefruit essential oil, vitamin E Oil and olibanum essential oil.

This is the complete list of ingredients. No cheap/artificial fillers. No chemicals 🙂

WHAT IT CLAIMS- Ageing is a fact of life, but this powerful serum can combat the enemies of your skin and halt the ageing process to keep your complexion looking younger for longer. Whatever your main concern – be it wrinkles, skin brightening or instant hydration, the carrot seed oil present in this serum will take care of it. It will nourish, tighten, revitalize, rejuvenate skin and will slow the progression of visible wrinkles. The sweet, warm, balsamic aroma of the Olibanum oil is stimulating and elevating to the mind. This beautifully scented Raw Rituals Ethereal Face Serum is perfect for improving skin tone, deep hydration, reducing early signs of aging by smoothing out the fine wrinkles and uneven skin.

MY EXPERIENCE-

Packed in a royal blue glass bottle with a dropper on top and a layer of plastic sheet wrapped around its cap to prevent leakage, the packaging of Raw Rituals Ethereal face serum is impeccable. Not only does it look eye-pleasing (which is something I do not pay heed to but if it’s good, one should praise) but also fulfils all the factors that are actually pivotal such as- sturdiness, hygiene and travel-friendliness (of course, handle with care for it is glass) In short, as far as packaging is concerned, it gets full points from me.

The oil has a non-greasy, non-oily and non-sticky texture which is a major plus point for I think everyone can use even though it is specifically targeted towards dry skin. As instructed, 3-4 drops were used by me twice every day for over a week (that is how, it lasted. I had the smaller bottle).

Two minutes of massage and it went into my skin without leaving any trace of oil/grease. It hydrated my skin without weighing it down besides imparting softness (which will be noticeable after 5-6 uses)and a subtle glow (again, do not expect miracles with a single use). At times, I did not even apply anything on my face and venture out with just a few drops of this serum massaged into my skin. This is efficacious this serum is 🙂 It is capable of compelling you to chuck makeup altogether!

The aroma is pleasant and would not irk those with a sensitive nose. It is, however, transient. It can be used every night as a part of one’s ‘beauty sleep’ and you’ll wake up with clearer. Since I am in my early 20s, I cannot comment on its effectiveness to combat wrinkles/aging, however, given its ORGANIC composition and performance so far, it deserves a thumbs up 🙂 Way to go, Team Raw Rituals. It is the first time I am using a serum and I’m going gaga over it. Go grab it!

Drops of Light  Brightening Day Cream

What the Company claims: A lightweight, yet nourishing day cream clinically proven to significantly reduce the number, size and intensity of dark spots.

– Provides hydration, for softer, smoother skin

MRP: Rs.2050 for 50ml

Ingredients:

The facial foam is a rich, creamy face wash. I do not generally prefer foam based face washes as they do tend to dry out my skin. But since I use this range in conjunction and follow it up with the serum and day cream, the face wash seems fine. It does cleanses thoroughly though, ideal for oily skin.

The serum comes in a white tinted bottle with a dropper and is water like in texture. It is very light weight and gets absorbed easily, you just need 2-3 drops of it. This bottle will last quite a few months.

The day cream is gel like in texture and water based. It is very hydrating and moisturizing. It does feel a bit sticky though and takes time to settle down.

L-R: Cream, Serum, Face Wash

Entire range has red algae, Vitamin C and glycerine. It is very good for pigmented and uneven skin. Vitamin C takes time to show result but with regular use twice a day, it will fade all your acne scars and even out your skin tone to a great extent.

Since the cream has glycerine and is a bit sticky on application, I would not suggest it for very oily skin as they may not like the texture of it. Also this makes it ideal as a primer and it keeps makeup in place all day long. You can skip a primer when you are using this cream.

Overall, this range will work great on uneven or pigmented skin or for people who have acne scars, etc. If you have to pick only one product from this range, I would definitely suggest the serum. At this price, there are not many Vitamin C serums available in the market and this does the job quite well.

Vanity Planet Spin For Perfect Skin | 70% Off | Clarisonic Dupe

Vanity Planet Spin For Perfect Skin | 70% Off | Clarisonic Dupe

Hi guys,

Today I am reviewing a cleansing brush, the most affordable one in the market.

It is a great option and definitely worth investing in, coz Clarisonic, Foreo Luna, Clinique are all very expensive, this is the most economical option, especially if you are just starting to use cleansing brushes.

Cleansing brushes are a game changer in your skincare routine and once you start using them, you will not go back to using only your hands.

If you wear makeup 3-4 times a week or everyday, this will remove all the makeup and dirt from your pores. And if you don’t wear much makeup, but you are not a kind of person to get regular clean ups and facials done, you should invest in  cleansing brush for sure!

I am using this since a month now and I have noticed a huge difference in my skin! I haven’t broken out since, it removes every bit of dirt and makeup from my pores.

Even after using the best Micellar water, every single time this cleansing brush removes so much makeup from the pores, that it surprises me! After using this regularly, I realize deep cleansing and pores cleaning is so important.

Just removing makeup from the upper layer is not enough, coz all the makeup settled in the pores will not come off with that.

Spin for Perfect Skin comes with 4 attachments and the main spinning tool. One is a cleansing brush which is perfect for everyday use and is very soft and gentle. This is the one I use the most!

Second is the exfoliating brush which can be used once a week for exfoliating the dead skin cells. It is slightly harsher, avoid using this if you have sensitive skin.

Third is the body exfoliating brush which is huge and perfect in size to exfoliate the skin quickly. The skin on body is not as thin as the face, so this brush is perfect for the body.

And last is the pumice stone attachment which would work great for your heels and feet.

So one device takes care of your face, body and feet!

Here is the detailed review and demo..

Vanity Planet Spin for Perfect Skin is priced at $100 but I have a special coupon code for you guys which will give you $70 off i.e. 70% off! You get it for $30 , they have three different shipping options with the cheapest being post at $20 for India. They had free shipping worldwide earlier, it does get a little expensive with the shipping, you can compare the price with the Oriflame one and go with either.

You can either go to www.vanityplanet.com and use the coupon code ‘Bhumika’ or directly go to this link vpwow.com/bhumika to get this device for $30

Overall I would say, if not this, you can go for any brand, but a cleansing brush is absolutely great for your skin and will change your skincare game forever! Highly recommend!

Have you tried any cleansing brush before? Which is your favourite?

P.S: Device sent by brand but it has not affected my review.
