The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream Review, Swatches

The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Perfect your complexion and fight the look of blemishes with our Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream. This dual action cream gives you flawless coverage whilst tackling the appearance of blemishes. Formulated with purifying Community Fair Trade organic tea tree oil from Kenya. – Blemishes and imperfections are instantly covered – Lightweight formula gives shine-free complexion – 3 shades blend seamlessly into all skin tones for natural-looking coverage.

MRP: Rs.1095/- for 40ml

How to use: Squeeze BB cream onto fingertips and spread all over face until fully blended. Alternatively, dot gently onto emergency blemishes for on the spot coverage. TOP TIP: For best results, use our Tea Tree Pore Minimiser before applying BB Cream for spotless-looking skin with pores that look smaller and skin that appears smoother and more mattified!

Ingredients:

Shades Available: 01 Light, 02 Medium, 03 Dark

Here are the swatches of all three shades.

I have the shade 02 which is an almost perfect match for me. 01 had grey undertones, so I would have gone with 02 anyways.

It comes in a small green tube packaging with a beige flip cap. Its small and handy to carry around.

The texture is very soft, it feels like butter (maybe coz of shea butter) and spreads like it too. Just that you need to blend it in well. Its very light weight and does’nt feel like you have applied something on the skin. Gives medium coverage and reduces appearance of redness, etc. It won’t give complete coverage or help with acne scars or dark circles.

Its more like a tinted moisturiser. Stays put whole day, but since its quite rich in texture (coz of shea butter and soyabean oil), one needs to set it with a powder or it might look shiny.

I think its good for everyday use and also the tea tree oil would help against further acne. It has a strong tea tree oil smell which is apparent from the time you squeeze the product out.

Here it is on me.

I do not agree on the complete coverage of acne or blemishes it claims. And also its expensive for the qty coz if you use it everyday, it might last just month or a week above.

Overall, I did like it but not very satisfied with the price tag and qty. And also oily skin needs to powder on top. I would say ‘can try’.

Wella SP Luxe Keratin Boost Essence Review

Wella SP Luxe Keratin Boost Essence Leave in Treatment Review

What the Company claims: LUXEOIL KERATIN BOOST ESSENCE
This luxurious leave-in Keratin treatment contains formula with oils and selected amino acids which boosts the hair structure from within. The treatment infuses into the hair to reconstruct and strengthen the keratin, instantly aligns hair fibers and builds resistance for weak hair.

Application: Spray 6-8 pumps on wet hair to facilitate easier combing. Ideal as a cutting lotion for hair that needs deep reconstruction. Do not rinse; dry as usual.

Formulated with nourishing jojoba, almond and argan oils, as well as amino acids, the treatment ensures your hair stays smooth, soft and supple, whilst preventing moisture loss and offering protection from environmental aggressors. A wonderful multi-tasker, this fabulous product will leave your hair exuding lustre and vitality.

SYSTEM PROFESSIONAL LUXE OIL uses a reconstructive Transform Technology that benefits hair inside and out, while protecting it from damage:
• Hair texture feels up to 10 times smoother after just one application.*
• 3 times more Keratin Protection, providing instant and long-lasting, smoothness.**
• Leaves hair looking healthy and naturally beautiful.
• Hair is easy to style every day, thanks to a special, lightweight oil formula.

Ingredients: Aqua, Alcohol Denat., Cetrimonium Chloride, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Panthenol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Polyquaterniu,-11, Glycerin, Citric Acid, Parfum, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Threonine, Histidine, Glycine, Arginine, Alanine, Argana Spinosa Kernel Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Camellia Oleferia Seed Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Amyl Cinnamal, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool.

MRP: Approx. Rs.1500/- for 100ml

Wella SP Luxe Keratin Boost Essence comes in a transparent gold spray bottle form with a small cap to cover the nozzle and looks like any body mist.

Its very very light in texture unlike any hair serums, and has a soft floral smell. Easy to use, just spray and leave it on.

It does control frizz to some extent and adds some shine to the hair. It does not weigh the hair down since its very light. And the best thing is, it is silicone free. It detangles the hair and also works as a heat protectant. Blow dry after using this, for best results.

For me personally, I need a little heavy oil based serum for the frizz to be completely controlled. (may be coz of the silicones) So if I have to choose one, I did go for a heavy serum like the Streax Pro Argan Secrets Serum. But there are days, when I choose this over a heavy serum. There is also a Luxe Oil Reconstructive Elixir in this Wella SP Luxe Range, would try that out next.

Its surely on the expensive side and not easily available too.

Those of you who find serums heavy or they make your hair greasy, this is the perfect choice. I would love to try Wella Professionals Oil Reflections too, have heard a lot about it. (Its not from the Systems Professionals Range though)

Illamasqua Vintage Metallix in Bibelot, Courtier Review, Swatches

Illamasqua Vintage Metallix in Bibelot, Courtier Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Vintage Metallix eyeshadow provides a metallic cream-gel texture that provides long wear and comfort. Smudge resistant and long lasting formula. Apply with your fingers or an Illamasqua brush.

A long lasting, metallic cream-gel texture, with a smudge resistant finish.

Key Benefits:
1. Intense metallic finish.
2. Smudge resistant.
3. Maximum long wear.

Application: Apply using fingers or an Illamasqua brush

MRP: £16.50 for 5ml (Approx Rs.1620/-)

Illamasqua Vintage Metallix is a part of their ‘Once’ collection. A set of three cream-gel eye shadows were launched as a part of this range: Bibelot (Vintage Green), Courtier (Vintage N*de) and Embellish (Vintage Brown)

I love cream eye shadows, they are easy to apply and blend and takes just a minute or so for that perfect blended look. I can use it anywhere and everywhere, even when I am travelling and I do not need to carry palettes or brushes. Plus I am mostly always in a rush, so cream shadows come to my handy. I also the Maybelline Color Tattoos for the same reason.

And when I got these, I was pretty excited to try them.

Today I am reviewing the shades Bibelot and Courtier. These come in a simple glass packaging with a golden cap and the Illamasqua symbol embossed on it. The mouth is wide enough to get the product on your fingers.

These are super duper creamy and blend easily, can even be layered quickly. It takes a minute for them to set, and once set, they don’t budge at all! They have stayed put whole day with minimal fading.

Bibelot is a gorgeous forest green with gold shimmer.

Courtier is a frosty n*de pink with silver shimmer.

Unblended

Courtier is a shade one can use in daytime or for everyday formal wear with just a winged liner. Looks super classy, giving just a hint of shimmer.

Bibelot is the perfect fall/winter shade. One can create beautiful 2 minute green smokey eyes with it. Also, its a nice shade for Indian wear.

Overall, I loved them. I would love to try Embellish too, coz I cant have enough of browns 😀 But if I have to recommend one, I would suggest Bibelot. Its a must have <3

Blended

They are definitely slightly on the expensive side, but with MAC Paint pots’ increased pricing at Rs.1500/-, they are almost the same, with Illamasqua offering slightly more qty but texture wise, Illamasqua are much more creamy and easy to use, where as MAC Paint Pots dry up quickly and are not as creamy as these.

Only issue with Illamasqua is availability. You need to buy it online from their site HERE.

Kaya Purifying Spot Corrector Review

Kaya Purifying Spot Corrector Review

Hey guys,

Today I am reviewing something which we all are forever searching for- a spot acne corrector! Don’t we all hate those sudden unwanted zits and acne ? And that just before an important function/event!

What the Company claims: The Kaya Purifying Spot Corrector dries up blemishes overnight, calms inflammation. Deeply exfoliates and unclogs skin pores.

How To Use: Cleanse skin. Open pen to dispense the product onto the pen tip and dab onto affected areas twice daily.

Can be used alone or under makeup.

Ingredients: Zinc Sulfate: An essential mineral for healthy skin, zinc acts as an astringent and helps in the treatment of acne. Salicylic Acid: A Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) which targets oil in hair follicles, exfoliates pores and clears the comedonesGlycolic Acid: A naturally occurring Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) from sugar canes. Acts as an exfoliator, it penetrates through the cell walls, resulting in smoother and clearer skin. Camphor: Provides a cooling effect on the skin. Witch Hazel: Produced from the leaves and bark of the North American witch hazel shrub. It is a strong anti-oxidant and astringent, which makes it very useful in fighting acne.

MRP: Rs.849/- for 8ml

I have something to your rescue! This spot corrector is God sent. I had not started using this and suddenly I got this super painful big pimple on my cheek. And I thought, lets give this a try, if it actually works.

I used it twice a day. Just dab the applicator on the pimple. Within 2 days, the pimple subsided and the pain gone! Within 3-4 days, it was completely gone and in about a week, the scar started fading too. I know for a fact that it takes ages on my skin for a pimple to settle and the scar to fade.

Man, this thing works! Its like magic. The main ingredients are Salicylic Acid, Zinc Sulfate, Glycolic Acid and Witch Hazel extracts which together work against the acne first, tones that area, disinfects and also exfoliate the area faster leading to regeneration of skin quickly.

When you open the bottle to apply, you can smell the strong camphor fragrance. It sometimes may sting if the pimple is squeezed or the skin is open/has crack. Its a clear water like liquid.

The applicator is easy to use too. Only thing is it does’nt feel very good to dip the same used thing inside, I tried using it with fingers 1-2 times, but was not very comfortable.

Its slightly on the expensive side, but I have been using it so regularly twice a day and have not even finished 20% of it, so I would say its value for money! Also coz you just need very little only for that selected area.

Overall I would say, it really works and is a must have for all girls who get those annoying break outs in between or you are a bride to be, like me! (You surely don’t want unwanted zits and all scars healed, if there is, before your D Day)

Rating- 5/5 (I actually thought but could’nt find any con except the availability. But now Kaya products are available online too)

Have you tried any Acne spot Correctors ? Do they work for you ?Which do you like ?

Moroccanoil Hair Spa Experience

Moroccanoil Hair Spa Experience

Hey guys,

Few days back I was invited for the Moroccanoil Hair Spa experiental at the Renee Melek Salon in Bandra. I have had the chance to experience the Moroccanoil Hair Spa before at The Taj Palace Salon in Colaba. So I know how good it feels and was more than happy to try it out.

The owner Renee herself checked my hair and recommended the intense hydrating treatment for my hair. (Since this time my hair was more dry than my previous experience)

My hair was first washed with the Moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo.

Funny me- after the wash :p

And then a mix of Moroccanoil Serum and Intense Hydrating Mask was applied on my hair all over, in parts. Its a mix of 1 pump and 1 spoonful of mask.

It was followed by a relaxing massage and steam.

Then the hair was washed again, this time only with water. Followed by a blow dry.

Here are some before-after pics.

Front
Back

My hair felt super soft to touch and I could feel the hydration in the hair, as it had turned a little dry of late. And even after a serum and mask were used, it was quite light and bouncy. It did not weigh my hair down. Hair stayed hydrated for a week or so. I also got this Moroccanoil Light Serum which I am currently using and testing out. Would review soon.

There are different Moroccanoil Hydrating Treatments and options. The Price of Moroccanoil Hydrating treatment – ranges from Rs. 2300 – Rs. 2700 depending on length and thickness of hair. Prices are inclusive of tax.

I have always had a good experience with Moroccanoil hair spa treatment till now. Have you tried it yet ?

P.S: Services were provided by the brand but it has not affected my opinion.

September My Envy Box Review

September My Envy Box Review

If you guys don’t know what is My Envy Box yet, go HERE.

Check out my previous months’ boxes:

MRP: Rs.850/-

We have a new sleeker packaging, I got a coral pink box (no idea why its looking fuchsia here:/with gold symbol embossing on the top. I love it, smaller, sturdier and pretty. And few got a shiny pouch inside. I wanted that shiny one :/

What I got in my box:

  • Chloe Roses De Chloe Perfume vial 1.5ml- If you love roses, you should absolutely try this!
  • ZA Perfect Solution Restoring Collagen Cream– Its an anti aging one, which I already have full sized. But I feel not everyone needs an anti aging product, they should not send it in all boxes and start customizing boxes.
  • Bottega Di Lungavita Vita Age In Face Scrub 5ml- I have tried 1-2 Bottega Di Lungavita products and liked those. Looking forward to try this scrub. The cost of the whole pack is just Rs.790/-. Its not that expensive and I was expecting minimum 3 small 5ml tubes of it
  • L’Occitane Creme Allegee Almond Shaping Delight– 2 sachets of 8ml each- This is a good quantity of 16ml but when it is expected to firm your body, you can hardly use it once and not expect/see any results.
  • Thalgo Cryodetox Mask 5ml- Again only one single tube of 5ml. 2 would have been better.

Overall I felt it was pretty ok. The quantity in samples was quite less, we could have had 2-3 mini tubes if there are 5ml tubes only. One needs minimum 10-15ml product to try it properly or judge if it works for them. Also, I have no idea when will they include makeup samples which is being promised since a long long time.

You can request an invite for My Envy Box HERE.

Are you subscribed to My Envy Box ? What did you get in your September Box ?

MeMeBox Review: ColourBox #1 Red

MeMeBox Review: ColourBox #1 Red

So, I too jumped into the MeMeBox bandwagon (if you don’t know what it is about, go HERE), though I have tons and tons of things to do away with right now. (New place, shifting, etc after marriage) I am not buying anything new these days. But I wanted to try the MeMeBox since I had been hearing a lot about it.

SUPERBOX

Also there are different boxes for different themes, and you have one for everything from scrubs to skin type to favourite color to hair care, etc.

Its been a long long time I ordered this, sorry for the delay in reviewing. I am running behind schedule on everything coz I am caught up with shopping and other stuff too. I got the ColourBox, they had three colours: red, orange and pink options if I am not wrong. (They have added a new Blue too) I went for the Red one.

About the Red Colour Box: Hey foxy ladies! Dare to step out of your comfort zone with our Memebox Red and vamp up your style with a dramatic, rosy red look? Add vibrance and vividness to your eyes and lips with a bold red hue, slip on those stiletto heels, and be that femme fatale that we all know you are.

MRP: $15.00

Shipping method: Standard Shipping
Shipping cost: $6.99
Estimated shipping time: 15~25 business days

It comes in a nice red colored packaging and 5 full sized products with details of each.

What I got in my box:

  • Dearberry Flirt Lipstick in 08 Red Parade ($12)
  • L’Ocean Eyeshadow L-35 Red 4g ($10)
  • The Cheek Room Two Color Lip Gloss 8ml ($12) (Super cute)
  • Tosowoong Gel Pencil Liner 1.2g in Burgundy ($10)
  • Dearberry Today Nail Lacquer #21 Pink Sprinkling 10 ml ($3)

The Dearberry red lipstick is an absolutely amazing and flattering red. The Cheek Room lipgloss is the cutest I have seen, did not own a two colour lipgloss ever. I love the nail paint shade too. I wont be using the red eyeshadow as an eyeshadow, I think it will make a pretty blush.

The best thing in the box is the Tosowong Makeon Burgundy gel eyeliner pencil. Always wanted to try a gel eye pencil which is quite famous in Korean makeup. Its a nice reddish brown burgundy color.

Having paid $15+ $7 = $22, I get $47 worth of products which is an amazing deal! And all MeMeBoxes are so worth it, coz you get much more value of products than what you pay. One actual beauty box where you end up getting something unlike small 5ml samples.

Since it was only one box, I was not charged with customs. But I have heard about few others having to pay huge customs, so that is one deterrent. If you do not stay in Mumbai and there are’nt much customs issues, you should definitely try this. Or I did suggest order one at a time, and not 2-3 together coz that definitely attracts customs.

You can buy it HERE (Its currently sold out, but they may stock soon). Also check out other boxes which are equally amazing.

Have you tried the MeMeBox yet ? Which is your favourite box ? Do share with me in the comments below, so that I can check them too 😀

Revlon Highlighting Palette Bronze Glow Review, Swatches

Revlon Highlighting Palette Bronze Glow Review, Swatches

Remember I mentioned about Revlon’s new Cheek Boutique i.e the new Powder Blushes and Highlighting Palette HERE.

I was one of the winners of Revlon’s Travel look contest and got the highlighting palette Bronze Glow too as a part of the prize. Though the poor thing got completely smashed in the courier.

What the Company claims: Revlon Highlighting Palette for an all over sun kissed glow. Complimentary shimmer shades blend to enhance the complexion for a radiant sun kissed look.
Enhances and illuminates the complexion
Gives a multi-dimensional sculpted look
Easy to blend, buildable color

MRP: Rs.950/- for 7.5g

Shades Available: Rose Glow, Bronze Glow, Peach Glow (I love the Bronze the most)

This is how it looked after some cleaning.

Almost like those Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks and The Body Shop highlighters, but less shimmery. I like my highlighters less shimmery, we aint no shiny disco balls :p

Though it does look a little too shimmery in the pan, but upon swatching, it comes out a beautiful rosy bronze. It has 5 strips, one is white, and the other 4 are shades of bronze, copper, pink bronze and pink copper. So all blended together, it gives our a nice bronze with a pink sheen which looks beautiful on our warm skin tones.

Top- Individual, Bottom- Blended

Though if you are on the lighter side, I would recommend checking out Rose Glow and Peach Glow. But for medium Indian skin tones, Bronze Glow is just perfect.

It stays on for 6-7 hours and slowly fades but does not go away completely. Also works for highlighting the brow bone and inner corners of the eyes. I use it on the bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow too for that little pout effect.

Its pigmented and buildable, easy to use coz you can build it slowly, won’t make you look funny even if you are new to highlighters and blushes.

Though its on the expensive side, it does offer good quantity and quality. I would have liked it to be priced around Rs.750-800/-. Sadly wee do not have good highlighters available in India, so if you are looking for a good highlighter from an Indian brand and that is easily available, this is one of the few options.

I did expect better and sturdier packaging though, this is not at all travel friendly. You can see the condition of the smashed palette.

Overall, I do like it and recommend it. I love highlighters and this is one of my current favourites.

Rating: 3.75/5 (-0.25 for the packaging)

Have you tried the Revlon Highlighting Palette ? Which is your favourite highlighter ?

OOTD: Polka Dots Bandage Crop Top, Daniel Wellington Watch

OOTD: Polka Dots Bandage Crop Top, Daniel Wellington Watch

Hey guys,

Back with a crop top OOTD. Remember my leopard print one HERE. This is my second crop top.(One more pineapple print is on its way :p) You know how much I love polka dots and stripes!

I had also shared some tips on how to wear a crop top in my previous post. Crop tops are skirt’s best friend, be it midi or normal pencil.

I paired this white bandage polka dots crop top (bandage gives a nice peek a boo effect and hardly shows skin) with a basic black pencil skirt.

A candy orange sling was the perfect bright accessory to break the monochrome. My Classic St. Andrews Lady Daniel Wellington stacked up with a spiked and pearl bracelet completed the look.

My new shoes! How I love them <3 Black suede block heels with metallic gold ankle strap went well with the outfit. I wore them to Lakme Fashion Week and everyone complimented the shoes and asked where are they from :p They are so versatile and match with everything. Plus super comfy.

Top: Faballey (Available in black too)
Skirt: Faballey
Sling: Faballey
Shoes: Blackfive
Watch: Daniel Wellington (You can win one HERE)

On Lips: Maybelline Bold Matte Lipstick MAT 2

I hope you liked the outfit. Do let me know in the comments below.
