Patanjali Strawberry Lip Balm Review

PATANJALI STRAWBERRY LIP BALM REVIEW

By Simli

Hi guys!

Its November, winter is almost here. Our skin is drying and our body has started losing moisturiser already.

Apart from our skin drying we also start having chapped lips. Recently I went to a local cosmetics shop for buying lip balms for the coming winter, there I noticed apart from other well-known non herbal brands which are known for their lip balms Patanjali also has its lip balm. I bought this strawberry one, thinking why not give it a try and it also doesn’t cost much.

I am using it for a while now and let’s see how it fares..

I like to carry it around with me and apply whenever I feel my lips are drying. So today I’ll review it which you already know from the caption above. Lets start.

Packaging:

The packaging of this product is unlike the other lip balms. It is not like that of a lipstick type rather it is in a tube form with a slanted tip, from which the product comes out on squeezing. The portion from which the product comes out is not straight but rather its slanting like a new lipstick which makes it easy for applying as there is no wastage of the product. The tube has a red screw cap which means that the product wont come out if we don’t open the cap , also it doesn’t comes out on its on if we don’t squeeze the tube.

Texture and colour:

The texture of the product is perfect like it should be. It is creamy but not too thick. The colour of the product is very light pink with shimmers. On applying the product the product you’ll notice very light tint of pink on your lips , which is almost invisible.

Price: Rs 25 for 10 grams.

Ingredients: Every 10 gram contains:

Butyrospermum parkii 500mg

Olea europea 100mg

Prunus amygdalus 100mg

Triticum sativum 100mg

Symplocos racemosa 10mg

Rubia cordifolia 10mg

Cow’s milk fat 10mg

The base material: Natural waxes , vit E , sugandhit dravya.

How to use: Apply on craked lips twice a day. Also you can apply before going to bed, as I do.

Usage: Useful in dryness, roughness and rehydrates lip moisture.

My experience:

Lip balms are very essential for winters, we all know this so I use lip balms everyday. I use lip balm before applying lipstick. I also use lip balm before going to bed at night.

Now, I have been using this lip balm for a week now and I’m quite satisfied with its result. For something costing only Rs 25 honestly I wasn’t expecting too much. But it showed good results and now I have no cracked lips.

I love its fruity smell, its very mild. The portion from which the product comes out makes it very convenient for applications. After applying the lip balm on my lips, I can feel my lips becoming softer. It doesn’t have any colour which is actually good I think because it makes it the perfect lip balm to be applied before lipstick. I sleep with this lip balm on my lips and it feels like I don’t have anything on my lips at all , it is so so so light weight.

The only problem I found after using this product is that it doesn’t stays on your lips for long even if you don’t anything thing which is very disappointing. You have to reapply it again and again after like an hour.

This is because of the not so very thick consistency of the lip balm, I think so. But apart from this it is a good product for people who doesn’t want to invest more in daily use, non pigmented lip balm.

Pros:

  • Value for money product.
  • Good fruity smell.
  • Availability.
  • Easy application.

Cons:

  • It doesn’t stay for long

Rating: 4/5

Editor’s Note: I believe it is quite good for the price, would give it a try.

Patanjali Divya Kantilep Review

Patanjali Divya Kantilep Review

By Sanchita

INTRODUCTION – Summer takes a heavy toll on my skin and now that I had to go out in the sun for few weeks regularly, the terrible acne returned and I had no idea on how to deal with it. I generally use homemade face mask but honestly speaking, I hardly get time to mix the products and apply. I bought this Patanjali Divya Kantilep some time back and used it to prevent the breakouts. So instead of going for an elaborated face mask I prefer using this on the acne prone areas and it has given me some good results.

Read on to know more about the products in details.

It also promotes splendor, shining and luster on the face. MY REVIEW

The product comes in a plastic jar with an opaque body and red screw lid. The packaging is quite sturdy in my opinion and easy to travel with if you wish to. I just wished if there was a spoon given to scoop out the product. Otherwise, it is hygienic enough. The face pack is herbal and hence it is in the form of a power. You can use it in various ways you like. You can mix it with rose water, curd, water or even milk and can also add other ingredients like Multani Mitti, Besan or Orange Peel Powder – whatever your skin prefers. Since I was in a hurry, I apply it with honey and rose water and apply on the affected areas. You can also apply all over the face and neck as well.

The best thing about the product is it is completely herbal and unnecessary paraben and preservative free. The face pack looks muddy dark brown in color and when applied on the face, giving cooling sensation. I have sensitive skin and a lot of product cause burning and irritated sensation however, this was surely an exception. Hence, it is completely safe to use and won’t give much trouble. The face pack takes around 30-45mins to dry up on the face and I simply wash off with chilled water.

The results depends on how you use it but one thing is surely consistent, it cures and prevents pimples. I would not say that it cures acne overnight but within 2-3days you will see the result. Apart from breakouts, I also had few zits and after applying the face pack, the zits disappeared within a day. If you apply the face pack directly with rose water, it gives a yellowish cast to the skin but disappears after 4-5hours. And that is why I never use it for full face unless it is mixed with Sandalwood and Multani Mitti powder. The face pack woks on all skin types as it neither makes the skin greasy nor sucks out every layer of oil. It evens out the skin tone and reduces the pores along with improving the texture of the skin. It also works great for reducing pores and cleansing the skin but it never adds a brightened glow to the skin. If you constantly use this face pack every day, you will surely see the result within 2-3weeks.

OVERALL – Overall, I would say that it is a great herbal face pack with a budget friendly price tag that works on every skin type and a great help for acne prone skin. It not only prevents and reduces acne but also lighten the marks and gives an even out skin tone with regular usage.

WHAT I LIKED

1. Nice packaging.

2. Herbal product.

3. Prevents the acne.

4. Cures the breakout.

5. Even out the skin tone.

6. Cleanse the skin.

7. Can be used with multiple powder face packs.

8. No irritated or burning sensation.

9. Will suit every skin type.

10. Improves the texture of skin.

11. Budget friendly price tag.

WHAT I DISLIKED

1. Takes time to show results.

2. Casts a yellowish layer when used directly with rose water.

3. No added glow or radiance.

RATING – 8/10

RECOMMENDATION – This is a nice herbal product that actually shows some results on the skin without any irritated side effect. I would highly recommend it for acne prone skin and will religious usage, you will not be disappointed at all.

Patanjali Body Ubtan Review

Patanjali Body Ubtan Review

By Nidhal

There are few things as nourishing, relaxing and advantageous for your skin as slathering a rich blend of all-natural ingredients on one’s skin. Nuts ,fruits, herbs… all finely powdered to form an aromatic blend of ‘Ubtan’ is a treat for one’s skin. Not only is one’s skin deep cleansed but also the layer of dead skin cells is exfoliated. Expectations certainly skyrocket when an all-natural Ubtan comes from Patanajali- Baba Ramdev’s pharmacy. It goes without saying that I will review PATANJALI BODY UBTAN today and let you know how it fared for me.

PRICE- Rs 60/- for 100g

DIRECTIONS FOR USE– Add sufficient quantity of water to 20-30 g of Body Ubtan to make a consistent paste. Apply on body. Massage gently. Rinse off with water.

INGREDIENTS- Chironji, red lentil, black gram, barley, mustard seeds, soybean, rice, almond, turmeric and camphor.

WHAT IT CLAIMS- Enhances fairness, imparts glow to skin, reduces dark spots and blemishes.

MY EXPEREINCE-

Packed in a simple plastic pack, Patanjali Body Ubtan’s packaging is somewhat disappointing. Why? Once cut open, the contents need to be transferred to a container because 100 g cannot be used in one go. Storing it in the pack in which it comes makes it prone to contamination as well as spillage. While the argument that it costs merely Rs 60/- per pack which is dirt cheap is admissible yet the provision of a zipper pack would have altogether eliminated all these woes once and for all. Hence, there is room for improvement as far as packaging is concerned.

The ubtan is predominantly fine with few coarse granules. They aren’t harsh or abrasive. So, do not fret that your skin will redden on slathering/massaging it. I think it can be conveniently mixed with rose water, raw milk ,curd or any base ingredient for that matter. Adding water is a mere recommendation for the producers which I followed. The paste so obtained has a pleasant and not overpowering aroma. I have used it a number of times and even if kept for more than half an hour, it does not stain your face yellow.

The presence of slightly coarse granules facilitate scrubbing and aid removal of dead skin cells’ layers. Upon removal, my skin looks squeaky clean, deeply cleansed and radiant. It does not suck moisture off one’s skin and that spells cheer for those with dry/excessively dry skin. I can’t comment on its efficacy or the lack of it when it comes to oil removal for oily/excessively oily skin type. Mine is dry and it hasn’t made my skin dry post wash ever. That said, it doesn’t even moisturise it either which I have no issues with because it doesn’t claim to do so.

I find it suitable for use by all skin types. If you are on a shoestring budget, grabbing a few packets of this won’t even pinch you. This one’s a good investment in my humble opinion 🙂

GOOD-

1. Budget-friendly

2. Readily available

3. Deep cleanses skin

4. Does not suck moisture hence, apt for dry and extremely dry skin types

5. Imparts radiance and NOT fairness which is plausible

6. Imparts a squeaky clean feel

7. All-natural composition

8. Apt for use by all skin types

BAD-

1. Packaging needs to be revamped.

RATING-4.5/5

Editor’s Note: This sounds very good Nidhal, definitely in my Patanjali haul list.

Patanjali Kesh Kanti Aloe Vera Shampoo Review

Patanjali Kesh Kanti Aloe Vera Shampoo Review

By Taniya

Patanjali is a well known brand in the Indian market. It is famous for its affordable and effective health, hair and skin care products. The product that I am going to review today is a haircare product – PATANJALI KESH KANTI ALOE VERA SHAMPOO. Now lets see how this product fared for me.

What it claims- Prevents hairfall, minimize split ends, removes dirt from hair and scalp. Makes hair thick and beautiful.

Usage- Take 2-3 ml of product on hand, message on wet hair and then rinse off. The whole usage instruction is written in Hindi though.

Ingredients:

Each 10ml contains extract of

● Aloevera- 500mg

● Hibiscus rosa sinensis – 1.0mg

● Ocimum sanctum (tulsi) – 1.0mg

● Baccopa monnieri (bhrami) – 1.0mg

● Sapindus trifoliatus (reetha) – 1.0mg

● Emblica offcinalis (amla) – 1.0mg

● Eclipta alba (bhringraj) – 1.0mg

● Lawsonia innermis (heena) – 1.0mg

● Acacia concina (shikakai) – 1.0mg

● Curcuma longa (haldi) – 1.0mg

● Tinospora cordifolia (giloyi) – 1.0mg

● Psoralea corylifolia (bakuchi) – 1.0mg

● Base material qs

Now all the base materials are listed separately too.

● Aqua surfacant base

● Tocopherol

● D-Panthenol

● Permitted colour

● Preservative

● Sugandhit dravya

Price – 75 INR for 200ml of product

Shelf life – 2 years

My take:-

This new launch from Patanjali Ayurved has a different packaging than their other variants. This one comes in a transparent bottle and it very easy to see the amount of product left. The flip top cap shuts tightly with a click which makes it travel friendly.

The shampoo is light green in colour with a gel consistency but when I apply it on my wet hair it lathers very well and my hair is clean in the first wash itself. The smell is citrusy and is mainly like their aloevera gel making it very refreshing for me. It lingers for a good time after I have finished washing my hair.

I am using this product for about 2 weeks now and I have seen my hair become soft and manageable after each hair wash. Even when I washed my hair once without conditioner, it didn’t make my hair very dry and rough. It has controlled the oiliness of my hair and even after 2 days my hair feels soft and so much clean. It has controlled my hairfall to some extent but I can’t comment on split ends as I don’t have as such.

There is no mention of parabens or SLS in the ingredient list so I will like to infer that it is free from these harmful stuff which is a big yay for me. The cons that I feel might be the availability as Patanjali products are sometimes out of stock and are not easily available online. Again I need a little more quantity of shampoo than their other variants for my mid-length hair. But considering their price, I feel it is a steal deal.

Pros-

● Affordable and effective

● Ayurvedic so no side effects

● Contains all good ingridients especially aloevera

● Makes hair soft, smooth and manageable

● Controls hair fall

● Controls oiliness in hair

● Refreshing smell

● Does what it claims

● No parabens or sls

● Better than their other variants

Cons-

● Availability might be an issue

● Need more quantity than others

● Not completely preservative or chemical free

● Packaging can be better

Repurchase and recommendation – Yes in both cases. I love this shampoo specially for summers and monsoons when both me and my hair need to feel fresh.

Overall- It is a very effective shampoo from Patanjali with all natural goodness and it does what it claims to do. And considering the price it is a definitely worth a try.

Editor’s Note: That’s a nice review Taniya, I am looking at trying a few Patanjali products, this one definitely seems worth a try.
