Pucker and Pout Contest Entry- 14

Pucker and Pout Contest Entry- 14

By Agnibanya

Hi Everyone,
My lip color favorites do keep changing with seasons and my mood, but these days I enjoy sporting a deep dark lip as is the fall trend this season.  And MAC’s Satin Lipstick Rebel sort of tops the chart this time. This is a simply stunning deep bright plum which looks gorgeous on all skin tones.

With Rebel on my lips, I usually like my makeup to be clean and sharp, like a pale frosted pink on my lids and a sharp winged liner, or deep bronze on the lids with loads of kohl. I like to pair it mostly with Indian ethnic wear.

Have a great day everyone!!

Editor’s Note: Its indeed a fab shade..and loved your pics !

MRP: Rs. 375/- for 4g

It comes in a normal round packaging with a transparent plastic lid..no mirror or applicator. Its a huge pan compared to other eyeshadows….4g is a huge qty..I think by far the biggest eyeshadow I have in my stash.

I got the shade 107 Burnt Bark coz its supposed to be MAC Satin Taupe Dupe 😀 I love taupes..and this is one amazing satin finish taupe..perfect shade for everyday neutral eyes…and almost 95% close to MAC Satin Taupe eyeshadow.

It stays for 5-6 hours and longer with a primer..and is super smooth in texture..and has no fall outs..this swatch is just one swipe.

Pros:

1. Super huge qty..4g
2. Comes in 13 shades and different finishes..from matte to pearl.
3. Dupe of MAC Satin Taupe.
4. Economical.
5. Well pigmented.
6. Stays for 5-6 hours and longer with a primer.

Cons:

1. Plastic packaging is kinda ok.
2. Not easily available.

Overall I love this color..coz I get a MAC dupe which is equally good with more the qty at 1/3rd the price..I know Inglot has dupes..but that would be a separate refill and this has more qty too..and also Inglot Pearl 402 which is supposed to be a MAC Satin Taupe dupe does not have that purple undertones which Satin Taupe and Burnt Bark have. This one is much more closer..Highly recommend !

MAC Blushette Bound for Love Review, Swatches

MAC Surf Baby Blushette Bound for Love Review, Swatches

MAC Blushettes were a part of the Surf, Baby! Collection..Bound for Love and Barbara Ann were the two shades launched in the collection..

MRP: $21.50 ($18.50 on sale) for 4.2g. Available HERE

It comes in a small swivel twist up tube packaging..like the Lakme Cheek Artist from the Fantasy Collection.

It has a black holder cap on top..so the product does not spread or melt inside..

Barbara Ann is a bright coral orange..looks gorgeous.

Bound for Love is a warm rosey mauve pink with subtle silver shimmer..it gives a natural flush to the cheeks..a soft rosy sheen..can be worn everyday and does not look OTT..

Unblended, Blended

But the shade is a little sheer and needs a few swipes for the color to show up..and staying power is also average..stays for 3-4 hours and then starts fading..

Pros:

1. Easy swivel up stick…comfortable to carry too.
2. Warm mauve pink..would suit medium to fair skintones..gives a nice natural flush to the cheeks.
3. Pretty packaging.
4. Does not look OTT.

Cons:

1. Staying power is average.
2. Shade needs a few swipes to show up.
3. Availability is an issue..and this was LE…available on Brigette’s Boutique though..

Overall I quite like these cream blush stick concept..those are quite easy to carry and use..and this shade gives a natural rosy flush to the cheeks with subtle sheen..perfect for office or everyday use…

My Small MAC Haul

My Small MAC Haul

Finally a MAC haul..got some things I had in my wishlist forever..

I got a lipstick, an eyeshadow and a paint pot..

By the way, MAC prices have increased all over..and the SA told me they have increased here too..but I guess they have to change the revised price tags..and hence a few days they would stick to old prices..

I would suggest buy whatever you wish to..now..before the prices increase..

Can you guess which shades I have purchased ?? (Yes I purposely hid them in the pic :p)

Ok..a hint..eyeshadow is frost finish and lipstick is Amplified Creme..

MAC Eyeshadow Romp Review, Swatches

MAC Eyeshadow Romp Review, Swatches

MAC describes Romp as ‘Chocolate laced with gold’. Its a frost finish..it is discontinued now..

MRP: Rs.720/- for refill, Rs.900/- for single pan

I would say its a medium dark golden brown…and love using it on lids..since it has shimmer, I do not like it on crease…a little deeper matte brown in crease with this on lid looks nice..

It applies smoothly, evenly and goes well with oranges and other deeper brown shades..it makes a nice lid color..

Highly pigmented, smooth textured and blends well.

This shade is quite easy to work with..even for a newbie..and pairs well with Indian wear too.

L: Sunlight R: Indoors

Pros:

1. Highly pigmented.
2. Easy to work with.
3. Blends well.
4. A nice neutral golden brown and works well for all skin tones.
5. Makes a good lid color.
6. Goes well with Indian wear.
7. Satin smooth texture.
8. Stays well for 6-7 hours even without a base.

Cons:

1. Expensive as all MAC is.
2. Discontinued now.

No other cons as such..I love the shade, texture, pigmentation, staying power..and it is one neutral shadow that would look good on all skin tones..and work with Indian wear too. Highly recommended. This also is my first MAC eyeshadow 🙂

Since it is discontinued now, you can check out Tempting which is quite quite similar but is Lustre Finish.

Quality: 4.5/5

Would I buy it again: Discontinued..might check out Tempting if required.

Have you tried MAC Romp or Tempting ??

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick Fuchsia Review, Swatches

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick Fuchsia Review, Swatches – MAC Girl About Town Dupe ?

Ok..now this has a story behind it..I am always into more of neutrals..and get scared with bright shades..but from the time I saw this super HOT pink on Bruna Abdullah in the song Tu Mera Hero from Desi Boys..I wanted this shade !!

The one Bruna wore looked like MAC Girl About Town to me..I searched for all Fuchsias and Hot Pinks..would share all the shades I liked out of those I found,in a separate post later..

After comparing the shades online and checking some reviews, I found Revlon Colorburst Fuchsia is indeed super close to Girl About Town..though Girl About Town is a little more deeper and Revlon Fuchsia is a little more cool toned…but they are quite similar..

1 swipe, 2 swipes

Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks come in a black criss cross pattern packaging with the shade color at the top..they are quite smooth and glide on easily..this bright shade is super pigmented..and in one swipe you get enough color..in two it comes out fully..stays for around 4-5 hours without eating or drinking..feels quite light on the lips..

Revlon Colorburst Fuchsia is a cool toned bright pink shade..it looks amazing both as a stain and full blown..this shade would look great on all skin tones..I have seen dusky girls rock bright shades more..

I love how this shade brightens up the whole face..Also seen HERE

Check out the shade Peach and the complete review for Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks HERE

MRP: Rs.610/- for 3.7g

Now these were priced at 550 when they were launched..then they raised it to 580 and now 610 for the new and hot selling shades..I don’t think they should keep on increasing the prices like that :/

Some shades are available at Rs.499/- on Flipkart..check them HERE

Overall I love this shade ! And surely recommend it..if you love bright pinks, you are going to love this..did I get the shade similar to Bruna..I am not sure..her seems more bright coz of the camera and all..but but I am loving this..and have no regrets..all girls should have a hot pink in their stash 😉

Which Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks do you have ??
