Top 10 Volumizing Mascaras Available in India, Prices, Buy Online

By Sanchita

You know the saying, ‘Inner beauty is great but a little mascara never hurts.’ Well, I say the more the better. I saw more of a kohl girl than mascara one mostly because I couldn’t remove mascara properly before. Well, one day I tried out a mascara for an event and I was astonished the way it has turned my eye makeup. And from that day onwards I never skipped mascara. I loved all those tutorials where the bloggers use the beautiful falsies but honestly speaking, I could never get the hang of it. Maybe one day I will or maybe not, but for now I have the super voluminou mascara. They define your lashes and enhance the eye makeup tenfold. So, I have combined the best of the best voluminous mascaras available in India. Read on to know more about it.

1. Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara – 500 INR (BUY HERE)

One day when I was picking up some random makeup products from the Maybelline counter, the SA insisted me to choose The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara. I was in double minds but somehow ended up picking it and I never had to try any other mascaras again because this was a gem. An amazing product that not only add volume but length to the lashes as well. I was having problem with false eyelashes and couldn’t get the hang of it. But, after I saw how this mascara actually give you the ‘falsies’ effect, I use it both regularly as well as for special occasion. Most the waterproof and washable variant are outstanding and for the price, it is one gem of a product.

2. Maybelline The Magnum Barbie Mascara – 399 INR (BUY HERE)

This is one of the very recent launch of Maybelline and compared to the price, it is again voluminous mascara as well. The wand is slightly curved that gives a proper curled effect to the lashes. The bristles are perfect to provide even amount of volume boost on the lashes to create that doll-like fluttery eye lash look to the eyes. Further, the mascara is sweat proof, waterproof, and smudge proof and hence keeps your eye makeup intact, all day long. In fact, it can be a great one for contact lens wearers. The mascara dries up easily and great for thin eyelashes as well.

3. L’Oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes Extra-Black Mascara – 795 INR (BUY HERE for 596)

A favorite mascara for every makeup artist in India. Although it does falls in the higher range category but every penny is worth spending on this beauty. 5. L’Oréal Paris False Lash Architect 4D Mascara – 750 INR

L’Oréal Paris has introduced for the 1st time sculpting-fibers in a mascara. It has been augmented with undetectable and ultra-supple 4mm fibers, hence, the formula builds up lashes by moulding, re-shaping and sculpting to give defined look. It has a beautiful wand which is tapered and slightly bent and also coats the lashes evenly without clumping and smudging the eye makeup. The formula is waterproof and gives a soft, fluttery look for daytime. Further, it doesn’t dry out the lashes as well.

6. Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara – 2300

This is the queen of all mascaras and that price tag is surely not for faint hearted ones. It comes in a luxurious deep ink blue packaging with a glossy and alluring gold body. The wand is slightly tapered and densely packed fibre bristles. It is comparatively slender it makes it perfect for application. The texture is light weight and wet formula but it doesn’t take much time to dry on the lashes. It also prevents clumping and adds an enormous amount of volume to gives the perfect ‘extreme’ look you desire. Further it doesn’t smudge or flux and comes off easily with an oil based eye makeup remover.

7. Colorbar Zoom and Whoosh Mascara – 650 INR (BUY HERE for 594)

The wand of Avon Super Shock Mascara is a beautiful one which picks up the right amount of product and gives absolutely clump free application. Top 12 Best & Affordable Eye Shadows in India

Top 12 Best & Affordable Eye Shadows in India

By Sanchita

Hello everyone! I am a complete eye shadow junkie. Palettes are my favorites and I swear by Rimmel and Sleek Makeup for eye shadows. Now-a-days eye makeup looks are the biggest ‘in’ thing and we love to add the dash of eye to brighten up the entire makeup look. The whole aura of any eye makeup look – be it a smoky and sultry or simple neutral eye makeup, you need some really good pigmented eye shadows. In my opinion, the Indian market really lacks budget friendly pigmented eye shadows. Be it palette or mono pans, whichever decent product is there, it is priced very high. There is another thing I noticed is that the shades are very repetitive and mattes are almost missing. Nevertheless, today I have compiled the top 12 eye shadows available in India (online and retail) which are pretty economical.

1. Rimmel London ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick – 415 INR

These are my favorite eye shadow sticks and I love the kind of colors they. From matte browns to beige and deep blues and greens – they have it all. It comes in a chubby fat sharpenable pencils. The texture is so smooth that it glides like a dream and blends very easily. Pigmentation is top notch and single swipe gives you the saturated color. It gives you enough time to smudge and set the color and then doesn’t budge at all. It is thoroughly water proof and smudge proof as well. The colors, when set properly, hardly creases (after 9-10hours) and can also be used a base for powder eye shadow. For the price, they are a steal. (P.S: Bronze is my Favourite!)

2. Makeup Revolution Single Eyeshadow – 295 INR (BUY HERE for 234)

Makeup Revolution has been one phenomenal budget friendly brand and has got popular among various bloggers. A lot of e-commerce sites have been stocking their mono eyeshadows and palettes and we love the variety they have. The mono eye shadows and pigments in particular are very convenient to use. They are richly pigmented, blends really well and doesn’t crease much on the lids. These are appropriate for creating various makeup looks and lasts longer on the lids without fading off.

3. NYX Single Eyeshadow – (300-400 INR)

They have a variety of matte, pearl, shimmers and duo chrome eye shadows to choose from. There are numerous colors and quite some popular ones as well. The packaging is sturdy and great for travelling. The texture is good and gives a nice color pay off. From shimmers to matte and neon, you will get every possible color. These are ideal for beginners and they perform wonderfully. You can also try the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils (Review HERE) which are equally raved among beauty bloggers. (P.S: Absolutely love ‘Yogurt’, works amazing to highlight inner corners and brow bone. The shade ‘Milk’ acts as a perfect eyeshadow base for lighter shadows)

4. Inglot Single Eye shadow single – 550 INR (They have raised the price to 550 INR, also they discontinued the round refills which were a bit cheaper. Now they only have square ones) (Some available on Nykaa & on MajorBrands HERE)

When Inglot was available online, I couldn’t be happier about it. The only reason was to shop eyeshadows. They have an amazing collection of eyeshadow pans and most of them are great dupes for MAC (MAC eyeshadows costs a bomb!). The Inglot Freedom System palette is also available which enables you to choose the perfect color combination palette you want in your life. They have pearl, shimmery as well as matte finish and more than 400 shades to choose from. The texture is wonderful to blend in and pigmentation is top notch. They hardly crease and stay put the whole day. You can also try their rainbow pans (consisting of three hues of a same color)

5. Coloressence Single Eye Shadow – 170 to 200 INR (BUY HERE)

Coloressence is quite a well-known brand in the market and they have some really good products. One of them is the mono eyeshadow collection which comes in a durable black casing. The numbers of colors in this range is slightly low comparatively but the quality is surely great to work with. They have pearly and satin matte collection and some of the very famous are the gold, burgundy, blue, black and brown. These are soft in texture and I found pigmentation is superb with one swipe.

6. Colorbar Emphaseyes Eyeshadows (Available in 27 shades and priced at Rs.550/-) and Emphaseyes Baked Eyeshadows (Available in 10 shades and priced at Rs.599/-)

Versatility of Colorbar is surely enthralling. All the finishes from matte to pearly to high shimmer available in both the ranges and hence you can create a lot eye makeup looks with these. With a proper blend of ingredients, the texture is satin smooth and a commendable pay off for your eyes. The baked eyeshadow can also be applied wet which gives an insane color pay off and rich effect to the eyes. The fall out issues are minimal and the long lasting formula makes these totally a winner.

7. Revlon Colorstay Shadow Links Eye Shadow- INR 195 (BUY HERE for 165) (Review & Swatches HERE)

If you are a beginner or want to create your own customized palette without bankrupting, this is the one for you. You can buy any desirable shade from the collection of 15 available shades and attached with one another to create the exact palette you want. The texture is smooth and really workable. Again some of them are super pigmented and nice, plus pretty economical. Definitely check out the shades Bhumika has swatched and the Copper and Gold shade is what she swears by!

8. L’Oréal Paris Infallible Mono Eyeshadows – INR 525 (Review & Swatches HERE and HERE)

With a small tub packaging, these mono eyeshadows from L’Oréal are incredibly good. It has the velvet powdery texture and soft and silky formula which glide on the lids like a dream. The pigmentation is very good and it gives a rich satin look to the eyelids. The staying power of 8-9hrs is truly praiseworthy and hardly creases even without primer. Most of the shades have metallic effect and the sheen is gorgeous for very occasion. This is one of the best quality eyeshadow available in India with such reasonable price tag. Bhumika has already reviewed the Endless Chocolate which is a stunning brown for warm skin tones. (P.S: Also love All Night Blue which is the most gorgeous blue eyeshadow in my stash)

9. MUA Makeup Academy Single Eyeshadow – 431 INR

MUA makes some really eyeshadows and be the palette or singles, each of them were great. The single eyeshadows, available in 34 amazing shades with a wide range of mattes and pearly touches, helps you creating a variety of looks for both day and night. The texture is extremely soft and super blendable and the color payoff is pretty impressive. The matte black (20) is greatly pigmented rich matte black for the smoky looks while the brown (19) can be used for neutrals and crease effect.

10. Freedom Makeup London Mono Eyeshadow – 350 INR

Very recently I bought few shades from their collection and I have to agree, they are great value for money. Comes in small round packaging, there are available in mattes, pearly (glided collection) and also certain base shades. The base shades are perfect for creating an even canvas or simple winged liner look. All the shades are well pigmented with soft textures, smooth and easy to apply for an everyday look.

11. Oriflame The One Cream Eyeshadow – 449 INR (Review & Swatches HERE)

Cream eye shadows are so beautiful and easy to work with that you won’t know until you use one! The Oriflame The One Cream Eyeshadows are available with a very reasonable price tag and definitely check out the swatches done by Bhumika. The color payoff is extremely rich, intense and creamy and the texture is so forgiving that anyone will find it easy to work with. Bhumika feels that these are just perfect to use when you are in a hurry, just blend, layer and set and you are good to go for the day.

12. Deborah Milano 24Ore Velvet Eye Shadow – 395 INR

Deborah Milano has some pretty beautiful shadows available in singles, duos and quad. Thse eyeshadows have a satin soft texture and gives a beautiful finish to the eye makeup looks. The pigmentation is worth talking about and when you use the eyeshadows in the wet form, you would notice the thrilling intensity of it. All the shades are so beautifully matches with the Indian skin tones is that, one wouldn’t be enough for you at all. It stays fairly long even without primer and dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested.

Editor’s Note: I love this list, have quite a few from the above. Absolutely love the Oriflame Cream one and the L’Oreal Infallible Monos. I used to love the Maybelline Color Tattoo, sadly they are discontinued now but I still have and love the Bad to the Bronze and Pomegranate Punk.

Which is your favourite eyeshadow? From this list?

Pucker and Pout Contest Entry- 2

Pucker and Pout Contest Entry- 2

By Poonam

It is INGLOT Freedom System Lipstick in #53 is a bold shade of pink. It is a bright fushia pink shade in cool undertones which is too hot to handle and the color shouts “Dare to wear!”.

I love it for the oomph it adds to the whole look. I love to pair it with understated eye makeup with a slight winged eye liner or a wash of light brown eye shadow all over the lids with a rosy pink blush on cheeks..:)

Editor’s Note: It is indeed a fab shade..one of my favorites is shade 51.. Check out 11 Inglot Freedom System Lipstick Swatches HERE.

Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel 74 Review, Swatches

Inglot Matte Collection AMC Eyeliner Gel 74 Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: High intensity pigments provide ideal coverage and rich colors after just one application. The Creamy and delicate long lasting formula dries in 60 seconds to a water, smudge and crease proof finish.

MRP: Rs.680/- for 5.5g

Ingredients:

It comes in a small flat plastic tub packaging with a black cap..has no brush along. Its a cream based eyeliner and not gel based..so its opaque, matte and super creamy..sets super fast and stays on for a good 6-7 hours without budging..it does flake off at times after that..

74 is a gorgeous eggplant plum shade..I love plums..so this shade is more of a weakness for me 😀 I fell for it, the moment I saw it..

Pros:

1. Gorgeous color.
2. Has a super creamy texture and glides well especially on oily lids.
3. 5.5g is a good qty.
4. Inglot is cruelty free.
5. Can be used as an all over base too.
6. Cheaper in price and more in qty than MAC Fluidlines which cost around Rs.1000/- for 3g and L’oreal Super Liner which cost Rs.825/- for 2.8g

Cons:

1. Dries super fast..you need Inglot Duraline to revive its creaminess.
2. It should come with its own brush.

Overall I do love the gorgeous shade..but I am not a fan of cream liners..somehow I find it difficult to work with cream liners..so gel liners for me..But if you are comfortable with cream liners, you should definitely get this shade !

Rating:

Quality: 3.75/5
Value for money: 4/5

Would I buy it again: I am not sure..I prefer gel liners.

Shopping for Inglot from MajorBrands.in

About Majorbrands: WE DID NOT START A COMPANY. WE STARTED A CONCEPT.

MAJOR BRANDS IS A LEADING FRANCHISEE FOR PREMIER INTERNATIONAL FASHION BRANDS. WE OFFER VALUE-BASED PRODUCTS TO OUR CUSTOMERS AND GROWTH FOR OUR PARTNERS.

They have brands like Aldo, Mango, bebe, Nine West, Provogue, La Senza, Park Avenue, Inglot, etc..

I have mostly shopped for Inglot from them..plus a clutch and accessories at times from Aldo and Queue Up..

They have Free Shipping and Cash on Delivery on all orders..and untill now I have always received the order in 6-7 days..

They often have flat 30% or flat 25% off on Inglot..and do subscribe to their mailing list..to not miss such offers 😉

Inglot has freedom system for their eye shadows, lipsticks, pressed powders, powder blushes, etc..but the lipsticks only have round refills so you need a round palette..and eye shadows come in both round and square..though square ones are priced the same but have more quantity..there are no palettes as such for powder blushes or pressed powders though..

Inglot Freedom System Explained: Inglot has different round and square palettes for their lipsticks and eye shadows..and you can buy refills for each of them as per your liking..the lipsticks come in round refills only which are of 1.2g each whereas the eye shadows come both in round and square refills (2.7g-Rs.300/-)..the brow powder (1.8g-Rs.300/-), brow wax (1.3g-Rs.300/-) and cream concealer (1.2g-Rs. 250/-) also come in round refill packaging.

The round palette comes in a size of 3,5 and 10..costing Rs. 300/-, Rs. 850/- and Rs. 1400/- respectively. And the square palette comes in size of 2,4,5,20 and 40 costing Rs. 1400/-, Rs. 2800/-,Rs.850/-, Rs. 2800/- and Rs. 5000/- respectively (I know there is a huge difference here..and the pricing is weird)

You can purchase only the refills too from majorbrands.in but at the stores they do not sell only the refills..you need to buy the palettes or bring your own Inglot palettes.

They currently have these offers on majorbrands.in

From what I have tried in Inglot, here are my short reviews and recommendations..from most favorites to least in descending order..

1. Inglot AMC Pressed Powder: Which I just reviewed..one of the best pressed powder I have used..available in refills too..but do make sure to select AMC and not the normal one..

2. Inglot Duraline: A savior if you love gel liners..this can revive all your dried up gel liners..and also a must have if you love colored liners from your eye shadows and pigments..

3. Inglot Freedom System Lipsticks: Super pigmented, very creamy and has a decent wear time..tons of colors to choose from..there is a shade for everyone..its like ‘you want it, you get it’. Though carrying a palette is a pain and you need a brush everytime to use it..which is a pain..but I am ready to let go of that coz of its quality..

4. Inglot Freedom System Eyeshadows: They come in five finishes: Pearl, Double Sparkle, Matte, AMC and AMC Shine..Pearl is the best..though some eye shadows are amazingly pigmented while some are just ok…do your own little research before ordering..I would suggest the square refills since those are 2.7g where as round ones are 1.6g

5. Inglot Matte Collection AMC Lip Pencil: These are lipsticks cum lip pencils..can be worn on their own..they are amazingly pigmented and last a good time..but personally I find them a little drying..if you have dry lips, I did say stay away from these..but if not..check out 21 Hot Red and 28 Fuchsia Pink

6. Inglot AMC Gel Liners: These are quite creamy..more so like cream liners..available in around 20-21 shades..completely matte and quite pigmented..but they dry up prettyy soon..dunno if its the plastic packaging to be blamed..but its like you surely need Duraline if you have an Inglot gel liner..and they do not come with a brush too..

7. Inglot AMC Mousse Foundation: These are quite light in texture..and super creamy..they blend like a dream..and if you have tried those air whipped mousse foundations..you would know what I am talking about..the only issue is it gives light to medium coverage..and expensive too for the quantity.

8. Inglot Nail Enamels: They have Matte, O2M, Nail Art..different types..and Pastel Collection, Duochrome finish, Flakies..gives a gorgeous effect..and are DBP, Toluene and Formaldeyde free..but are too expensive..

Other than that, I am yet to try the other stuff..but have heard good reviews for the pigments, AMC blushes and the YSM range..AMC range is surely nice..check out my detailed reviews and swatches for Inglot HERE

Inglot AMC Pressed Powder Review

Inglot AMC Pressed Powder Review

What the Company claims: PARABEN FREE FORMULA NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS

MRP: Rs. 950/- for 9g/0.32US OZ

Ingredients:

It comes in 11-12 shades here..I have the shade 55 which is a perfect match for me..so if you are around NC 35-37 go for shade 55..

But the AMC Pressed Powder refill costs Rs. 550/- for 13g which is like quite good i.e more the quantity and less the price..only issue would be the refill would not be that travel friendly..

It comes in a round black packaging and has a big mirror on one side..it does not come with any puff..though I as it use a brush, so do not need one..but that might have helped while travelling..

It is so super silky and soft..though its a powder, it gives that soft creamy feeling..and it even gives medium enough coverage..much better than other presses powders I have used..

Pros:

1. Super silky and smooth..its gives a creamy feel to the skin and no dryness.
2. Gives a medium coverage..good enough for everyday.
3. The quantity would last quite long.
4. Comes with a big mirror across..one would not need separate mirrors when carrying this.
5. The classic black packaging is nice and sturdy and travel friendly too.
6. No cakiness or patchiness..this goes smooth..I generally use a powder brush or kabuki.
7. Refill is economical with more quantity and very reasonable pricing.
8. Inglot has no parabens and not tested on animals.
9. Does not contain talc..and has titanium dioxide which also acts as a sunscreen.

Cons:

1. Inglot is not available everywhere..though you can buy it online here
2. The refill is not so travel friendly.
3. Does not come with a puff..you need to carry your puff or brush with it..

Overall I am in love with this super smooth pressed powder..its the best I have used till now..and I am not turning to anything else any sooner..I surely recommend this..and if you are ok with the refill, I would say order today !
