Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick Kin Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Colour intense, sophisticated burnished red lipstick enriched with moisturising Vitamin E. Lipstick in Kin provides a long-lasting satin finish in a smooth, hydrating formula that glides onto lips without compromising on colour pay off.

Sophisticated Burnished, Satin Finish

MRP: Rs.2093/- for 4g (Available HERE)

I have tried a few lipsticks from Illamasqua before, also the Glamore ones, see HERE and HERE. This shade ‘Kin’ is from the new Illamasqua Earth Collection.

It has the classic black Illamasqua packaging. The finish is creamy and it is quite pigmented like all other Illamasqua lipsticks, you just need one swipe with this.

The shade Kin is described as burnished red, it is like a light muted wearable berry brown shade. It instantly glams up your face and perfect for night too.

The only thing I did not like much about this lipstick in particular is the staying power, it stayed just 3-4 hours on me and that too without eating or drinking. All other Illamasqua lipsticks have always stayed longer, not sure if it is something with this particular lipstick.

It fades away evenly and easy to carry along and apply. Here it is on me..

The only con I would say is the availability and also Illamasqua lipsticks are a bit pricey. But they have such amazing pigmentation and quality, have always loved all Illamasqua lipsticks, I only wish this one stayed longer though.

Overall, I quite like this shade and the Earth collection is all about ‘Fall’ shades and browns, berries, etc. This shade ‘Kin’ is also fall appropriate. If you are looking for a wearable berry shade which is not too bright or vampy, then this would be perfect. It will work with majority skin tones.

Made in Germany

Illamasqua lipsticks come in standard black packaging. With the Glamore Collection, they introduced these satin finish, non drying formula.

I absolutely love the shade Glissade and now the new favourite is Rockabilly. These are super pigmented and long staying. They stay for around 6-7 hours.

Feels super light on lips and the finish as described satin, is not completely matte, but pretty comfortable and hydrating. It goes on glossy and settles for a more matte look in an hour.

Rockabilly is described as a cherry red, it is indeed a cool toned pink based cherry red but very wearable and not over bright, though it looks more pink in the bullet in bright light here.

T- 1 swipe, B- 3 swipes

Here is it on me..

Overall, I would say the Illamasqua Glamore Lipsticks are a must have! These are super pigmented, long staying, light, comfortable and have a nice range of shades. Only issues are pricing which is a bit high and the availability.

Illamasqua Vintage Metallix in Bibelot, Courtier Review, Swatches

Illamasqua Vintage Metallix in Bibelot, Courtier Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Vintage Metallix eyeshadow provides a metallic cream-gel texture that provides long wear and comfort. Smudge resistant and long lasting formula. Apply with your fingers or an Illamasqua brush.

A long lasting, metallic cream-gel texture, with a smudge resistant finish.

Key Benefits:
1. Intense metallic finish.
2. Smudge resistant.
3. Maximum long wear.

Application: Apply using fingers or an Illamasqua brush

MRP: £16.50 for 5ml (Approx Rs.1620/-)

Illamasqua Vintage Metallix is a part of their ‘Once’ collection. A set of three cream-gel eye shadows were launched as a part of this range: Bibelot (Vintage Green), Courtier (Vintage N*de) and Embellish (Vintage Brown)

I love cream eye shadows, they are easy to apply and blend and takes just a minute or so for that perfect blended look. I can use it anywhere and everywhere, even when I am travelling and I do not need to carry palettes or brushes. Plus I am mostly always in a rush, so cream shadows come to my handy. I also the Maybelline Color Tattoos for the same reason.

And when I got these, I was pretty excited to try them.

Today I am reviewing the shades Bibelot and Courtier. These come in a simple glass packaging with a golden cap and the Illamasqua symbol embossed on it. The mouth is wide enough to get the product on your fingers.

These are super duper creamy and blend easily, can even be layered quickly. It takes a minute for them to set, and once set, they don’t budge at all! They have stayed put whole day with minimal fading.

Bibelot is a gorgeous forest green with gold shimmer.

Courtier is a frosty n*de pink with silver shimmer.

Unblended

Courtier is a shade one can use in daytime or for everyday formal wear with just a winged liner. Looks super classy, giving just a hint of shimmer.

Bibelot is the perfect fall/winter shade. One can create beautiful 2 minute green smokey eyes with it. Also, its a nice shade for Indian wear.

Overall, I loved them. I would love to try Embellish too, coz I cant have enough of browns 😀 But if I have to recommend one, I would suggest Bibelot. Its a must have <3

Blended

They are definitely slightly on the expensive side, but with MAC Paint pots’ increased pricing at Rs.1500/-, they are almost the same, with Illamasqua offering slightly more qty but texture wise, Illamasqua are much more creamy and easy to use, where as MAC Paint Pots dry up quickly and are not as creamy as these.

Only issue with Illamasqua is availability. You need to buy it online from their site HERE.

Illamasqua Velvet Blusher Flirtatious Review, Swatches

Illamasqua Velvet Blusher Flirtatious Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: New for Summer 2014, create a flush of intense colour with this long-lasting, matte blusher in Flirtatious. The lightweight cream texture delivers a velvet soft cream to powder finish. Apply to the apples of the cheek, or across cheekbones to enhance and define. Build and blend with fingers or an Illamasqua brush for added colour-intensity.

MRP: £21.50 for 5 g / 0.18 OZ (Approx. Rs.2200/-)

Flirtatious is a lightweight velvet soft powder which delivers a matte finish. Apply to enhance your cheekbones, use over foundation for impact.

Key Benefits:
1. Blends effortlessly
2. Velvet soft powder matte finish.

Application: Build and blend with fingers or an Illamasqua brush.

It comes in the trademark Illamasqua packaging. Looking at it first, I could’nt make out its a cream finish coz it looked just like powder.

Its a cream to powder finish. As soon as you blend it, the color is completely dry and matte and stays put throughout the day.

This is not those creamy, melt in your face or give a soft, dewy look kinda blush. Its matte and looks as good as any powder finish blush.

Flirtatious is a perfect peachy, pink shade. It gives that nice, healthy glow to the cheeks. This is one shade and finish, which would work for all skin tones and on all skin types, be it oily or dry.

I am in love with it..and eyeing more from this Velvet Blusher range. Other shades available in the Velvet Blusher range are Conviction, Sleek and Peaked.

Unblended- Blended

Pros:

1. Love the Illamasqua packaging.

2. Beautifully pigmented.

3. Matte finish.

4. Once blended, stays put throughout the day.

5. Perfect texture and works on all skin types.

6. Shade gives a nice healthy, peachy pink flush and would work on all skin tones.

7. Blends easily.

Cons:

1. Expensive.

2. Available online. You can buy it HERE.

Overall, I would say, I love this new Velvet Blusher range and their finish. And also all the 4 shades which are a part of this range look amazing. I think these are just perfect. Highly recommend them.

Illamasqua Matte Lip Liquid Surrender, Exotic Review, Swatches

Illamasqua Matte Lip Liquid Surrender, Exotic Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Long lasting, highly pigmented Lip Liquid with intense matte colour finish. Glides on as liquid and dries to an intense matte colour. Neither a lipstick or a gloss, visit our Artist Tips tab to discover how to apply.

MRP: £18.50 for 4ml / 0.14 FL OZ (Approx Rs.1875/-)

Tips: It is a long lasting, highly pigmented Lip Liquid with intense colour finish. Provides a comfortable matte finish, and provides continuous wear without flaking or dryness. Remove excess product from the applicator and apply a thin layer onto clean moisturised lips. Let it dry for 60 seconds before blotting your lips together, apply a second thin layer again leaving 60 seconds to dry.

Key Benefits:
1. Contains moisturising vitamin E.
2. Long lasting and highly pigmented.

Application: Apply directly or with an Illamasqua brush.

Try the Exotic with our innovative formula in vivid orange. Surrender to our innovative formula in warm peach.

So the new Matte Lip Liquid launched by Illamasqua is nothing but a matte liquid lipstick..on the lines of Lime Crime Velvetines, Sleek MakeUP Matte Me, etc..

It comes in a normal long slender tube packaging..just like the Illamasqua gloss..and has a brush applicator interestingly.

Exotic is indeed a bright vivid orange as described.Surrender is a super pale peach (not at all meant for our skin tones, totally washes out..I think it would suit NC 15-20 more with strong smokey eyes.) And there is one shade in this range Forbidden which is a bright lavender pink.

In the tips, they mention to apply a thin layer, wait for 60 seconds, blot and then apply a second thin layer. That is the technique one needs to follow ! If you try to apply much in one shot or feel like covering one area opaque first, it might not work.

It is super pigmented..and in 2 thin layers, once dry, you get the perfect opaque color ! And once set, it does not budge at all..unless you eat something oily or greasy which makes it slip. And let me tell you, it needs exfoliated lips and still it will end up settling in your lip lines..and gives a completely matte look. But, it does not feel that your lips are parched or dry, gives some hydration too, at the same time. And you need a good makeup remover to remove it completely.

T- Exotic, B- Surrender

How I use it: I do not wear Surrender much for obvious reasons..totally washes me out. Exotic how I wear is, I apply a thin single layer. Let it dry and follow up with a lighter, warmer orangey or coral lipstick/lipgloss. Though I do not get that matte look, but the color stays for a long long time..and also makes it more wearable for me. Plus does not emphasize my fine lines too..so I get the color + staying power + no fine lines !

When compared with the Sleek MakeUP Matte Me (which I have in Rioja Red), these stay on longer, but formula wise I prefer Matte Me coz they are not gloopy.

Pros:

1. Is completely matte but lips still feel hydrated.

2. Quite pigmented..gives an opaque coverage.

3. Does not budge once set..stays put whole day.

4. Colors are quite unique..and not something you will find a dupe of, easily.

5. Can be layered with another lipstick/lip gloss.

6. With the qty you require with this, 4 ml is going to last forever.

Cons:

1. Needs exfoliated lips, but does accentuate fine lines.

2. Layering gets gloopy at times..you need to remove the whole thing and apply it afresh,if wearing for a longer duration.

3. Expensive and available online only.

Overall, I would say, if you are someone who loves matte lips, you are going to love this ! Its a must have for them. I am not a fan of matte lips..but I do like long staying and comfortable lipsticks. I love Exotic and love layering it with different oranges/corals I have..gives me a new color every time..and stays for a long time too. Definitely recommended for matte lip lovers. I would loved a bright red, bright fuchsia, etc to in this range 😀

Illamasqua Glamore Lipsticks Glissade,Soaked Review,Swatches

Illamasqua Glamore Lipsticks Glissade, Soaked Review, Swatches

Illamasqua came up with a Glamore collection which has 3 lipsticks and 3 nail paints..the lipsticks being Glissade, Soaked and Luster. I got to try two of them i.e Glissade and Soaked for reviewing those for you guys today.

What the Company claims: Glamore Lipstick  is a colour intense lipstick with a long lasting satin finish. Ideal for a more hydrated comfort finish. Can be worn under a sheer lip-gloss for more 3D Effect.

MRP: £18.50 for 4g/0.14 OZ. (Approx. Rs.1850/-)

Hydrated colour intense lipstick with a long lasting finish.

Key Benefits:

1. Colour Intense
2. Contains moisturising Vitamin E
3. Comfort

Application: Apply directly or use a lip brush.

INGREDIENTS: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Octyldodecanol, Candelilla Cera (Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Cire de Candelilla), Glyceryl Ricinoleate, Oleyl Alcohol, Cera Carnauba (Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax), Cera Microcristallina (Microcrystalline Wax, Cire Microcristalline), Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil, Huile Minérale), Cetyl Alcohol, Cera Alba (Beeswax, Cire d’abeille), Tocopherol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Parfum (Fragrance), Red 22 Lake (CI 45380), Titanium Dioxide(CI 77891), Yellow 6 Lake (CI 15985), Red 36 (CI 12085), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Carmine (CI 75470)

Made in Germany

These come in the trademark Illamasqua packaging..remember my previous pink lipstick Immodest (see HERE). Immodest had a very dry matte texture..this formulation is quite different.

Super pigmented..you get color in one swipe..and which stays on and on..and the tint is quite strong too..its not moisturising types but quite hydrating..you don’t feel your lips are dry and neither does it feel heavy..glides on smooth as well unlike matte lipsticks..

These appear a little glossy for an hour or so..and then settle for a satin finish.

I am majorly impressed by the pigmentation and staying power..they have stayed on me for 6-7 hours and the tint survived much longer..even after full meals, drinks, etc..

Glissade is described as a Bold Pink..its a medium mauve fuchsia..kinda mix..difficult to describe this shade actually..but it looks soo good ! I am in love with this shade ! My current favorite..it would work well on all skin tones..coz its not totally fuchsia kinds..and makes the face brighter immediately..a super pretty pink !

Soaked is described as a vibrant orange..its a medium orange with red undertones..when used as a tint, it comes up as a pretty orangey red..again not the bright loud orange types..but very wearable kinds (though it looks super bright..it looks better in person..and much nicer as a tint)

And here are both on moi..

Illamasqua Glamore Lipsticks – L: Glissade, R: Soaked

Pros:

1. Super pigmented.

2. Long Staying.

3. Satin non drying finish.

4. Lovely colors..both are very wearable..Glissade is a must have !

5. Feel light on lips.

Cons:

1. Pricey.

2. Availability is an issue..need to order online.

Overall, Illamasqua Glamore  Lipsticks are a must have..these are amazing formulation wise..and color wise too..especially Glissade..highly recommended !!

Illamasqua Lipstick Immodest Review, Swatches

What the Company claims: Let your lips speak volumes. Indulge in colour-intense lipstick with a highly pigmented formula, available in a choice of flawless finishes, from creamy matt to iridescent finishes. Illamasqua Lipstick glides on smoothly and doesn’t give up without a fight for the perfect all-night pout. A must have for professional make-up artists, and those who want to make a statement.

NET WT. 4g 0.14 OZ.
price per 10g £40.00

MRP: £16.00 (Approx Rs.1320/-)

Artist Tips: This formulation provides immediate intense pay off from the initial stroke and it can also be applied lightly as a lip stain that wears all day. Apply with an Angled Eye Liner Brush for a super sharp cupid’s bow.

Immodest is from the latest Illamasqua Spring ’13 Collection I’mPerfection..

It comes in a classic black packaging..with an Illamasqua edge on the ends..

Illamasqua website describes it as Vivid Pink, matt finish..its a true matte finish indeed..

I was surprised at the color at first..coz its a bright cool toned barbie pink..and  I thought it would not suit me..even after the hand swatch..but once applied on lips..it actually looked good and brightened the whole face..it did not wash me out as I expected it to..as generally barbie pink lipsticks do on warmer skin tones..

Quite similar to MAC Silly lipstick..which is an LE..yet to be launched in India..

This shade after seeing a lot of swatches and LOTD’s, I realise is a universally flattering shade..and would look equally good on both fair, medium and dusky skin tones..don’t go by the look of it..

T: 2 swipes, B: 1 swipe

Formula being a powdery matte finish..is very drying..and needs properly scrubbed and well moisturised lips..it does settle into fine lines..and is very unforgiving..not for those with dry lips..

Please excuse my messy hair and no makeup face..I was just playing around with the lipstick..and thought a lip swatch would not do justice to this color..and show as how it actually looks..

Topped with Revlon Colorburst Fuchsia

I wore it as it is…and topped with Revlon Colorburst Fuchsia..a brighter creamier hot pink..I loved the effect..and the color stayed longer too..

Pros:

1. Universally flattering shade.
2. Quite pigmented..two swipes gives fully opaque coverage.
3. Classy packaging.
4. Travel friendly.
5. Lasts for 4-5 hours.
6. Does not tug or pull like normal matte finish.

Cons:

1. Stains unevenly.
2. Quite drying and unforgiving..needs moisturised lips.
3. Not available here..you can buy it online HERE
4. Expensive.

Overall I would say its a perfect matte pink lipstick to have in your stash..I do not have any such shade in my stash..just as a girl needs a matte red like Ruby Woo, she also needs a matte pink..is’nt it ? 😉 Highly recommended.

Illamasqua AW 12 Collection- Generation Q

Illamasqua AW 12 Collection- Generation Q

Where beauty has no age limits.

In the last three years Illamasqua has become a global phenomenon, a proud advocate of self-expression and a lone voice in an industry controlled by the world’s beauty cartels – cartels, we believe, who have forced their soulless definitions of beauty onto the world.

Driven by this desire to constantly challenge the status quo, we are proud to break the unspoken prejudice of age as we launch our new AW12 collection – Generation Q. This new, dynamic range of expressive textures and shades provides the industry’s only antidote to the homogenised outdated vision of beauty.

Generation Q is a celebration of beauty. Ageless, and without limits or restrictions. It’s our declaration to the world that beauty is inclusive, not exclusive. In fact, Generation Q is a clear message to everybody, everywhere that beauty is not young, old, black, white, male or female, but anything, everything and everyone. If you’re someone who does not want age to define them, don’t want to blend in and fade away, you are Generation Q.

For Illamasqua, this is a stand we were born to take. So in typical Illamasqua style, we have done something that no other brand would or could do. Our new Generation Q campaign will go against the industry’s unspoken and despicable taboo, by featuring older models as well as young. Because to us, hiding your age is like hiding your true identity. After all “Illamasqua customers will not be told what to do and when to do it” Julian Kynaston, Illamasqua Founder.

Illamasqua is not just make-up for the skin. It’s make-up for a mind-set. And it’s why all the Generation Q models aren’t models at all, but real make-up fans, with a real life and real sense of their own beauty. The future of beauty is changing and we are the new voice of a brand new generation – Generation Q, where beauty has no age limits

‘Generation Q – is generation YOU!

It’s what they tell you not to do; it’s what you see your true self through.

It’s what is old and what is new.

What you know and what you knew.

It’s what you feel and what is true”
Alex Box, Illamasqua Creative Director

Generation Q empowers and complements the user with light reflective not age reflective products. The collection is a story of sultry, forbidden shimmer and creative formulations to build dimension.

All products and shades included in Generation Q have been formulated and chosen irrespective of age, race, gender or sexual preference to give everybody the tools to express their alter ego.

Illamasqua is standing up against the industry rule of “only wearing matt” products and concealing your real identity under a sea of “beige” after a certain age. Complementing and empowering your true beauty, shimmer is adorned to accent, highlight and lift features. Generation Q is a celebration of today, where beauty and creativity has no sell by date.

The official collection launch date is Thursday 6th September. Evelyn is their 72 years young model who positively radiates beauty – one of the winners of their Beauty Before Age competition that yielded thousands of entries from across the world..Does’nt she look fab for her age !! 😮 I love her dewy ‘peaches n cream’ complexion !

Illamasqua Stance Nail Varnish- NOTD

Illamasqua Stance Nail Varnish- NOTD

Illamasqua Stance Nail Varnish is a part of the Illamasqua SS12 Human Fundamentalism Collection. Another shade part of this collection is Nomad which is a bright jade green..

What the Company claims: Leave your mark with bold, rich, vibrant colours. Hardwearing and chip-resistant with individual finishes from matt to high gloss. Apply two coats for intensity and use with Illamasqua Nail Base Coat and Illamasqua Nail Top Coat for the perfect finish. Talk with your hands and make a statement.

Tips
For application, try the 3 line technique: First wipe off the brush at the bottleneck of the nail
varnish bottle; the brush must be covered evenly with product and must not drip. The first line of nail varnish is applied in the middle of the nail, from the cuticle to the nail top, in a long, soft line. The second line goes on one side of the nail and the third line on the other side. This guarantees even distribution of the shade. Additional layers may be applied to suit coverage desired.

MRP: £13.50/15ml (price per 10ml £9.00)

I have already reviewed Illamasqua Nail Varnishes..check out the review here

Stance gives an opaque finish in 2 coats..and is glossy enough..you can add a top coat if you wish too. Goes on smooth and does not chip for a week ! But takes a lot of time to dry 🙁 I always mess up.. :/ I have cut my nails short..

Stance is described as fuchsia violet with a glossy finish.. Its a deep magenta shade..it appears more deep violet in person..and more fuchsia in pictures…it is one of those shades which make hands look pretty ! It has a hint of neon..and the bright hue just grabs the attention…totally loving it !

Check out the shade Taint here and Faux Pas here

Did you like Stance ??

P.S: Product sent by brand for review but it has not affected my opinion.
