Hello everyone,

Online Shopping is in full swing these days, and with the amount of discounts and sales, it also turns out to be very lucrative!

When it comes to the well-defined ‘Indian wear’, the first thing that comes to our mind while walking towards the closet is Kurti. This fashion trend never goes off and one of the best smart casual wear. In fact, Kurtis are so versatile that you can wear them for college, office, family events, day-out, party wear and literally every way you prefer.

Kurtis can be made adaptable with various styles like short or medium length, from various materials of cloth and the embroidery as well. thus, the exclusive designs, elaborate patterns, various hues and appealing shades blended with western as well as Indian styles has made Kurti so popular as a fashion trend. There are various reason to love them, different ways to pair them up and the hacks and style quotients – which we are going to elaborate in this post. Read on to know more about it.

In this pattern, the lower portion of the material is cut in drape style and flatters feminine curves so graciously. This style can be worn by all body shapes.

• Short Kurti – if you want something casual, opt for short Kurti which looks very similar to tops and tunics. This is a perfect casual wear and has a blend of Indo-western touch to it. Thus, you can pair it up with jeggings, jeans or even colored pants as well.

• Gown Length Kurti – this kind of Kurtis has a rich feel of Indian traditional look and has been worn by various celebrities on the red carpet in India and abroad. It is very similar to Anarkali ones but reaches up to the floor length. A basic leggings would suffice to complete the royal look with detailed jewelry.

• Side Slit Kurti – One of the hottest trend of 2016 is the side slit Kurti. These Kurtis are basically long and straight in cut with lengthy slit from the waist. The length of the Kurti reaches up to the knee or beyond and you have to pair it up to with an elaborate leggings or pants. They are extremely fancy and easy to carry off.

• Shirt Kurti – The Shirt Kurti is very similar to the shirt dress. The collar of the Kurti resembles of a formal shirt. This style is a fusion of Indian and western trend and a great choice for the office wardrobe. You can also accessorize it with belts and jackets.

• High Low Kurti – Just like we drool over the High-low dress, the High-low Kurti is also in great demand. In this type of Kurti, the front hem is shorter compared to the back. The style adds so much grace and elegance to the outfit and best paired with treggings, jeggings, and skinny jeans.

• Kaftan Style – There are days when we prefer ultra-casual and comfortable outfits yet wants to look pretty and sophisticated. The Kaftan inspired Kurtis are the best possible options and can be paired up with treggings, jeggings, skinny jeans and even full tight slacks. The Kurti is also worn short and long as per your choice.

The different ways to team up the Kurti –

With Leggings – This is a very common style in which we generally pair up the Kurti with a color matching or contrasting legging. With Long Skirts – Kurti can also be paired with long flowy skirts as well. We have seen a number of Bollywood celebrities pulled off such an ethnic combo of Kurti and long skirt and we love the way it turned out to be. It gives a girl-next- door look with such polish and élan.

With Accessories – Kurti can also be accessorized in various ways. To add an ethnic touch, wear a dupatta with it. For casual look, you can add a scarf around the neck. Further it can be accessorized with bangles, earrings, bracelets, belts, head chain for a bohemian look, etc. as per the style and occasion.

With Palazzos – Kurti can be paired with flared pants or palazzos as well. These are extremely comfortable in summers where you want something loose fitted yet stylish. Palazzos and Kurti is also a killer combo for girl with long legs. OOTD: Indian Wear with Naari

Hi guys,

I know I haven’t done an OOTD since a long time. Today I am doing an Indian wear OOTD i.e. a kurti and matching pants.

Both the kurti and pants are from Naari’s Fluid Lines Collection.

Let me tell you a little bit more about Naari first.

The high low hem gives it a casual yet semi-formal look. The pink slim pants also has white thread work all over. They are stretchy and very comfortable.

Editor’s Note: Agree with this list Sanchita, thankfully I do have all of these :p But I prefer platform heels and not very high heels as they are not the most comfortable currently for me. I gave 4-5 of my very high heels to my cousin who loves them

Bollywood Newbies Who Give Us Major Fashion Goals

With each passing year we witness a sea of newcomers making inroad into the glitzy, glamorous and glittering world of Tinseltown. Some sparkle with their author-backed roles while some fizzle point-blank in addition to taking the audience for a ride (a ride they would never sign up for even if offered a free ticket)! Amongst all those who venture into Bollywood, there are some whose sense of dressing and taste in fashion compels us to sit back and take a notice after all, they might just be the next ‘Fashionistas’ of B-town 🙂

On that note, here is a compendium of those B-town ladies, some of them yet to be launched while most new-comers, who have it in them to be the next Fashionistas of Tinseltown.

1. KRITI SANON- A towering height? Check. An enviable body? Check. Glossy mane? Check. Pert and ebullient attitude? Check. A gorgeous face? Check. Anything left? Oh yes, an impeccable sense of style. This Delhi girl makes sure that even if she swathes herself in the simplest of attires, heads would turn. A newbie in Tinseltown who looks effortlessly stylish in even a simple pair of jeans and tops/tees, Kriti’s style is easy-going, fun and vivacious. Certainly, one lady for whom all the boys would do Heropanti to win her over!

2. VAANI KAPOOR- She scorched the silver screen with Shudh Desi Romance in 2013 as Gayatri but went missing from the big screen thereafter. She is back this year with the quirky Ranveer Singh in YRF’s Befikre and we couldn’t be any happier for the chirpy lady’s laidback sense of style is what we are going to be treated to.

3. KHUSHI KAPOOR- Now, comes a lady who hasn’t be formally launched but thanks to Instagram, we get to glimpses of this gorgeous lady who is making the right waves with her sartorial choices. The daughter of Bonny & Sridevi Kapoor and the cousin of the reigning Fashionista of Tinseltown- Sonam Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor is one lady whom we are eagerly looking forward to w.r.t. the style department. Doesn’t this picture of hers exude oomph and aplomb as she unleashes her gothic avatar? 🙂

4. MALAVIKA MOHANAN- A newbie in the Malayam film industry, Malavika Mohanan is the best out of the lot for me. There is something about her that makes me go “Ah! She is so sophisticatedly sensual” every time I see a picture of her. Be it ethnic wear or Western apparel, she is rules the roost and how! An expression of her creative energies- The Scarlet Window, her Tumblr blog is a treat to the eyes of fashion connoisseurs.

5. ATHIYA SHETTY – By now a favourite of a number of leading fashion connoisseurs, Athiya Shetty experiments confidently with clothes like no other. From figure-hugging gowns to grungy attire, from heavily embellished anarkalis to dunagrees, Athiya takes dressing seriously and that shows every time she makes an appearance.

6. DIANA PENTY- Essaying the character of Meera in Cocktail with utmost sincerity and subtlety, Diana struck a chord with audiences instantly. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see more of this leggy lass after that but she’s soon going to reappear on the silver screen. A former successful model, Diana’s style is very easy-going, laidback and comfort-driven. But that doesn’t mean the lady can’t carry other outfits. She can very well let her hair down and transmogrify into the drop-dead gorgeous diva at her own sweet will.

7. POOJA HEGDE- About to make inroads into Tinseltown opposite Greek God- Hrithik Roshan in Ashutosh Gowariker’s period drama- Mohenjodaro, Pooja Hegde is a known name down South. With her sharp Indian features, luscious locks and experimental streak, we are sure to get treated to a whole new range of eclectic styles with time 🙂

On that note, let us have a look at those 7 Bollywood ladies who you should follow on Instagram for their profiles are worth it.

1. DEEPIKA PADUKONE- (@deepikapadukone) The reigning Queen of the Hindi film industry’s box office at the moment, Deepika’s account lets us have a sneak-peek into her sartorial choices, red carpet looks and behind-the- scenes of her upcoming film ventures. Quite naturally, for all the fashion enthusiasts out there, her account is Aladdin’s cave. It is a like a tour to her eclectic wardrobe and no lady who is fond of fashion would want to miss it. Need some inspiration to style a particular jacket or want to try a new hairstyle? Sonam’s account is right there for recourse 🙂

ALIA BHATT- (@aliaabhatt) ‘Moody, floaty, fire and desire’ so goes her bio and while we cannot comment on the first two, we surely know that there is a lot to be discovered about this perky and zealous actress who many desire irrespective of their age. While we sing paeans in the honour of eyes for they are appositely called “The windows to one’s soul”, there is another part of ours that exudes sensuality in an unprecedented way. Be it the slight slit of a crop top that gives a peak-a- boo to those chiseled muscles running all the way down or the 9-yard long saree which lets one flaunt that sculpted back the way you have always wanted to, there is no denying that backs are sensual and if flaunted rightly, they can set temperatures soaring 🙂 Tinseltown too, has a fair share of ladies whose backs leave us drooling every time we spot them in attire that flaunts their covetous possession. So, why not have a look at them and get that much- needed boost of inspiration that makes us hit the gym right now?

1. SHRIYA SARAN- Indubitably, the epitome of an Indian beauty for me, Shriya’s facial features are as enviable as her drool-worthy back which augments the grace of her backless blouses all the more. Renowned star, commercial film, huge budget, exotic and fancy locales, elaborate song and dance sequences, reincarnation saga, avenging the death of the love of one’s life by battering the antagonist black and blue, a song sequence entailing almost the entire B-town and aggressive promotions… Om Shanti Om (2007) was an ideal Launchpad for the lady.

3. LET’S GO BLING- For another promotional event for Bajirao Mastani, Deepika opted for a monochrome striped blouse with a gold sequined pencil skirt. A studded belt from ASOS and cage sandals rounded her look out. To top it all, her poker straight hair looked chic and upped her glam quotient by leaps and bounds.

A LITTLE MORE BLING NEVER HURTS- Taking the bling look ahead, Deepika donned a pair of ripped bling jeans with a casual sweatshirt for the least leg of promotions of Bajirao Mastani. With her hair tied in a ponytail and s pair of heels, she sashayed as the shutterbugs tried to get a glimpse of this leggy lass. This look is apt for parties if you wish to break free from the monotony of one-piece dresses 🙂

5. GOING CASUAL WITH TUNICS- Keeping it casual and comfy during the Pune promotional tour of Bajirao Mastani, Deepika breezed through the scorching heat in a casual light grey tunic with distressed white pants, gold-tone jewelry,a brown belt, and animal-print ballerinas. It looks comfy and would make for an ideal pick for a casual day out with friends when the Sun is leaving no stone unturned to toast you

6. WITH TRIBAL JEWELLERY- Deepika gives one major fashion goals with this ochre Mango shift dress paired with a fringed Stradivarius vest that she donned for the promotions of Tamasha. The tribal jewellery is the perfect finishing touch.

7. IN MICHAEL KORS- The leading lady of Tamasha defines the art of chic dressing as she opts for a midi-length Michael Kors dress with Steve Madden heels. Add to that, her fresh as a daisy skin tone and you are sure to be smitten, aren’t you?

Color has a deep connection with the personality of a human being. It has several embedded emotions and plays a very important role when it comes to the attire. Everyone has their favorite color which one is drawn to and some might not even realize unless they actually pay a close heed to it. Well of course, weather and events plays an important role to choose a color as well but responsive factor is one of the most important one.

Color also demonstrates our mood. Since we choose the color subconsciously, a lot of emotional and mental reflections are mirrored through our choices. In fact, several facts have shown that the choice of colors of the clothes we wear can reveal out strength and weakness as they are a part of our personality itself. It has been seen that color helps us to have a confidence boost and such positive and enriching outlook helps us in various situations. Color reveals the subtleness of the mind. We often judge by what they wear and color establishes a strong foot on the judgement. For example, for a party we would prefer sequin gold and strong colors while for a board meeting we would prefer a soft brown or basic black. Thus it helps us to construe the circumstance and is a form of art.

Apart from other occasions, there are some colors which we always stick to or prefer whenever we are picking up clothes for buying. You must have noticed that we are attracted of blue most of the time or pink and this color reveals a lot about the personality you have.

Even while online shopping, we use the ‘Color’ filter and shortlist as per the color quite a lot of times.

So let’s check out which color of your choice of dressing says what about your personality.

Blue – Blue has a hint of elusiveness, delicacy and state of peace in it. It indicates that the person has a sense of loyalty towards the thing which one loves. It also depicts a hint of intenseness and mystery when wore as an attire. This color is best suited for introverts. The color blue also defines a sense of ‘control’ and calmness as well as confidence without any aggressive touch in it.

Red – Red is a very powerful color in itself. It reveals about a personality that the person is extremely extrovert, passionate, energetic as well as bold. Though we can’t call the color loud but it definitely screams some kind of attention and attraction in very possible way. In fact, it resembles of a shining gorgeous ruby. The red color speaks louder than we can’t imagine and thus it is best to stay away from this color especially for formal purpose like interview or meetings.

Pink – We always associate this color with girls or anything feminine. It is a color which shows that the person is very lovable and soft hearted who is loved and liked by all. it also symbolized unconditional love and affection as well. Someone with a sweet, charismatic and cheerful personality with an intuitive mind would be inclined towards this playful color.

White – White illustrates a sign of simplicity, purity, goodness and cleanliness and reflects a positive effect in an overall appearance. People wearing white are mostly open, well-spirited, genuine and confident. It is also one of the best option when you are attending an interview, meeting or anything professional.

Black – A lot of us subconsciously pick up this color whenever they have options or not. It is the most sophisticated, versatile and gracious color for every occasion. It sends out a strong sense of power, control and authority without being loud or garish. It shows that the person is extremely in control, strong willed and self-independent in his or her own way. Further, it also establishes the strength and dignity.

Who Wore What: IIFA 2016 Green Carpet

Hi guys,

I have been seeing IIFA 2016 updates everywhere, from Instagram to Snapchat to twitter to facebook, so that’s the only thing on my mind right now 😀

I saw all the outfits Bollywood celebs wore yesterday night for the main show and I thought of doing a post on that. So let’s start:

1. Deepika Padukone

Deepika wore this super gorgeous Sabyasachi Mukherjee lace and diamante beige co-ords with a beautiful cape to go with it. The diamond and emerald set matched the outfit perfectly. Makeup wise she had black smokey eyes and a nude pink lip with a slick back ponytail. I believe Daniel Bauer was doing her makeup for IIFA.

2. Neha Dhupia

Neha wore white separates, a white shirt and super flared skirt from H & M. She was styled by Sohaya. The outfit is decent but definitely not for IIFA. Considering how perfect Neha Dhupia always is, I am not impressed!

3. Athiya Shetty

Athiya wore a gorgeous blush pink Ramikadi gown. The roses and thread work detailing on the gown are gorgeous! She wore a Bibhu Mohapatra pant suit for the event a day earlier. The mesh shirt especially looks fabulous, pant suits are perfect for her tall and lean body. She was styled by Ami Patel. Her Ramikadi gown was to die for!

4. Aditi Rao Hydari

Aditi wore a green Shantanu & Nikhil gown with Outhouse jewellery. The hairband and earrings were beautiful. Her makeup was something to talk about, absolutely perfect, it was done by Elton J Fernandez. While wearing green on the green carpet is not a good idea, she managed to pull it off well.

5. Bipasha Basu

The newly married Bipasha Basu wore a deep navy Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla gown. The silhouette compliments her body really well and the the flared lower half is also very flattering.

6. Dia Mirza

Dia Mirza wore a mint Nakul Sen gown, it was ok, not something exceptional. Nothing much to say about.

7. Bhumi Pednekar

Bhumi is slaying it, she has transformed completely after her weight loss and has been on fleek in her fashion and makeup game too. I know our very own Neeraj Navare does her makeup quite a lot of times for events, etc. She wore this light lavender Shantanu & Nikhil lace strapless gown. The gown is beautiful and her deep red lips, straight hair and french manicured nails were absolutely perfect. Love!

8. Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi wore a beautiful beige Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla princessy gown. Love the silhouette, very flattering on her body and the dress is gorgeous. Hair tied in a sleek bun and deep red lips complete the look. She was styled by Alia Al Rufai

9. Shilpa Shetty

Shilpa Shetty wore a white cut out mermaid gown with mesh detailing and gold border, by Shantanu & Nikhil. She did want to show off her toned body which looks like worked really hard on. Not a fan of the dress but she looks fabulous, only she could carry something like this. The tan and bronzed skin looks sun kissed and glowing <3

10. Nargis Fakhri

Nargis wore this black Namrata Joshipura dress which was perfect for her height and body. She was styled by Alia Al Rufai too. She wore a pastel blue pant suit for the event the day before and carried it off amazingly well.
