Clean & Clear Pimple Clearing Face Wash Review #BreakUpWithPimples

Clean & Clear Pimple Clearing Face Wash Review #BreakUpWithPimples

Hi guys,

Today I am reviewing a product which would help every teenage/college girl out there. Actually anyone who suffers from those unexpected zits/pimples, but that happens a lot during teens, so this one is especially for them.

What it claims: Neem and Lemon work together to give you a much needed breakup from acne!

For: Those who are stuck in an unhealthy relationship with acne or pimples.

How it works: CLEAN & CLEAR® PIMPLE CLEARING Face Wash is a gentle yet effective way to cleanly breakup with your pimples. This ensures that you and pimples never get back together. The neem-lemon formula works well on skin prone to pimples, and within 7 days, will set you on the path to a far healthier relationship with clear skin!

Directions: Apply a small amount on wet palm and work into a rich lather. Gently massage onto face, avoiding the eye area. Rinse off thoroughly. Use twice daily for skin that’s beautifully clean and clear!

Ingredients: Water, Triethanolamine, Glycerin, Myristic Acid, Lauric Acid, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Hydroxy Ethyl Cellulose, Fragrance, o-Cymen-5-ol (Isopropyl Methyl Phenol), Butylated Hydroxy Toluene (BHT), Benzophenone 4, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf extract, Passiflora Edulis Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Alcohol Denat., Azadirachta Indica Leaf Extract (Neem), Yellow 10 (CI47005), CI 61570

MRP: Rs.55/- for 40g, Rs.99/- for 80g (Buy HERE)

It comes in a ombre green tube packaging with a slight curve at one end. It has a flip cap and is quite easy to use and travel with. The neem and lemon symbol and the bright green color of the tube make it quite attractive and easy to identify among other tubes.

It is transparent and gel like in color with a green tinge, neither thick nor runny. It has a refreshing smell, a mix of neem and lemon but not too herbal.

It foams pretty well and removes the basic dirt, grime and makeup. Also it does not dry out the skin or leave the skin stretchy craving for a moisturizer.

We all face those occasional nasty zits that come uninvited, especially during that time of the month and spoil a big event or a special day! Pimples are basically like bad boyfriends and we need to break up with them and come out of that bad relationship. Been there, done that. We cannot avoid stepping out or travelling which comes with dirt and pollution and it’s share of harmful effect on the skin, major being pimples.

But we can definitely keep them at bay and get a clean break up from them using the right products. Clean & Clear Pimple Clearing Face Wash is one such product and I am so glad I got to try this. I was getting 1-2 small zits on the sides of my nose and I didn’t want them to spoil my Diwali. Within 1-2 days of using this face wash, those zits dried up completely!

Lemon & Neem extracts work on the pimple from the very first wash & fights the core of the pimple problem i.e. the bacteria causing the pimples! Neem is anti-bacterial and it works directly on the bacteria, so that the pimple dries up and also doesn’t spread around. Lemon also helps with acne scars, so that the nasty zits do not leave any marks. Aloe vera extracts moisturize the skin and don’t allow the product to be too harsh on the skin. It also has passion fruit extracts and glycerin which again act as a moisturizer.

I am using this daily and would continue doing so, it’s very gentle for daily use and teenage skin. This product is perfect for teenage girls. Highly recommended.

So go ahead and #BreakUpWithPimples! Thank me later 😀

Clean & Clear Natural Bright Face Wash Review

Clean & Clear Natural Bright Face Wash Review

Hi guys,

If you follow my blog, you know I love quite a few Clean & Clear products especially face washes. See all the reviews HERE

They have launched a new variant in face wash, which is Natural Bright. If you follow me on Snapchat (bhumika_t), you must have already seen this and I have been testing this out since the past few days.

CLEAN & CLEAR® Natural Bright is designed for young skin problems, to gently reveal your natural brightness

Recommended for: Teenagers and young adults, who want their skin to look gorgeous and naturally bright.

How It Works: CLEAN & CLEAR® Natural Bright has a double action effect on your skin which helps clear skin problems. The rose water in the face wash helps wash away the dullness caused by impurities in the skin and natural honey with glycerin helps nourish your skin and help it achieve a natural glow that you will love

Directions: Apply a small amount on wet palm. Work it into a rich lather. Gently massage onto face, taking care to avoid contact with the eye area. Rinse off thoroughly. Use twice daily for skin that’s clean, clear and beautiful.

Ingredients: Water,Glycerin, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Glucoside, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Fragrance, Tetrasodium, EDTA, Capryloyl Glycine, 0-Cymen-5-ol, Sodium Benzotriazolyl Buytylphenol Sulfate, Sarcosine, Honey, Sodium Hydroxide, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Cinnamomum Zeylancium Bark Extract, Cl 14700, Cl 17200, Potassium Sorbate

MRP: INR 110 for 100ml

It comes in their usual slightly curved packaging with a blue flip cap. I love the light rosy pink tint it has and the bubbles make it look more vivid. It smells absolutely amazing, of roses. Not like artificial rose scent, but a very soft British Rose kind of scent.

It’s neither thick nor very runny and in gel form, which is what I prefer in face washes. It doesn’t foam much and hence doesn’t strip off moisture from the skin. In fact, the rose water and natural honey combination leave the skin moisturized enough and your skin will not crave for a moisturiser immediately.

Glycerin adds to the moisture and cinnamon bark helps fight acne and acne scars.

It removes dirt and grime and even basic makeup and leaves the skin squeaky clean and fresh. Natural brightness of the skin gets hidden coz of the dirt and impurities through the day, this face wash helps in getting rid of all that leaving the skin brighter and glowing.

If you have oily skin, I would suggest going with the Foaming One and if you have normal to dry skin, you will love this new Natural Bright face wash.

Best part about Clean & Clear face washes is they are very affordable and easily available.

I tried the all new Clean & Clear Natural Bright face wash in association with BlogAdda, com. If you want to reveal your natural brightness you can buy it HERE

Fair & Lovely Advanced Multi-Vitamin Daily Fairness Expert Face Wash Review

Fair & Lovely Advanced Multi-Vitamin Daily Fairness Expert Face Wash Review

By Nidhal

‘Hypocrite’ is the word that explodes in my mind instantaneously when I see/read/hear people say that they do not care about fairness and then in the very next breath pass a hurtful jibe about someone’s complexion or suggest ‘best skin whitening/lightening products’. It is known fact that we Indians aren’t a fair bunch of people. We are capable of passing the most demeaning of barbs on someone who is not as fair as a Caucasian. Women in particular have since times immemorial have been pressurised and unduly so, to look eye-pleasing round the clock! One of the main reasons why ‘Fair and Lovely’ remains the brand that I always detested was the fact it drew mileage of this obsession of Indians.

It is not a question of whether fair is lovely or not. The point is that fair isn’t what is ONLY lovely. Whenever I see the daft-to- death advert of ‘Fair and Lovely’ with Yami Gautam looking as pale as an LED, I’m provoked to change the channel. But the final nail in the coffin comes when I see my younger cousins with ‘Lovely warm hues’ of skin that soothe eyes desperately surf the net to look for ‘Skin lightening tips’, all I am provoked to do is slap Yami and Fair and Lovely as hard as possible! You brainwashed the coming generations and lulled them into a whirlpool of inferiority complex.

The counter-argument would be that all actress, or at least a great many have at some point in their career endorsed skin whitening products. But it is “Fair and Lovely” that clearly uses ‘Fair’ as well as ‘Lovely’ in one sentence as if they’re synonyms. The corollary to it, will then be ‘Dark and Ugly’,right? That is why, I have always detested this brand. It instills self-doubt, inferiority complex and poor view of oneself if one does not cater to “their’’ view of beauty.

Anyway, let us sweep this issue aside for a minute. After long I tried a product from this brand. Why? Because one of my relatives was seen fiddling with it so, in order to put an end to her naive thoughts about the efficacy of Fair and Lovely, I thought of being a lab rat to let her see for herself. Let us see how it fared.

PRICE –Rs 25/- for 20g

DIRECTIONS FOR USE- Gently massage on wet face and rinse well.

INGREDIENTS- Made from glycerin, myristic acids, and water, the multi vitamin enriched face wash ensures a brighter and cleaner.

WHAT IT CLAIMS- Fair & Lovely fairness face wash gives you the 3 step expert action, which Cleanses, Exfoliates and Massages with Multi Vitamin formula.

MY EXPERIENCE-

Packed in a plastic tube with a cap on top, the packaging of Fair and lovely advanced multi-vitamin fairness face wash is fine. It is spillage-free, easy to carry and sturdy. As a result, it is up to the mark in terms of packaging.

The face wash has a creamy texture with a grey colour. Once smeared on one’s wet face, it produces a fine lather. It can worked up easily. However, the smell to me, is way too strong. I have always had an aversion towards the smell of most Fair and Lovely products and this one is no exception. It smells exactly like Fair and Lovely fairness cream. The smell increases a little more while being massaged. After massaging it for 3-4 minutes, as I rinse it, surprise surprise! There is no trace of fairness which was expected. So, to all to those looking at it with sheep’s eyes to whiten themselves, this one thankfully, falls flat on its topmost claim.

My skin is dry and this one sucked moisture all the more from my skin. It does whiten my skin in the sense that my skin becomes very dry and forms hideous white patches to soothe which, I need to apply a liberal dose of a deeply hydrating body butter. Yes a “body” butter!

Then, comes the cherry on the cake. Its ingredients’ list is firstly not even provided in case of the smallest package and when looked up online (on its website), it’s not completely furnished too. The bottom line is that it just a weapon of self-confidence destruction. Chuck it.

GOOD-

1. Readily available. (Sadly, this is a con in my opinion for everyone can lay their hands on something that instills inferiority complex in them)

2. Available in different sizes with the price varying according to the size (This again to me, is a con for people of all economic strata can now avail it hence, feel inferior with what they are born with)

3. Fine packaging

BAD-

1. Stokes in the feeling that dark/dusky/warm skin shade is ugly and it is only fair skin that is lovely and desirable. Highly disgusting!

2. Laden with chemicals. The package that comes in small size does not even mention the ingredients. At least there should be uniformity in such vital aspects.

3. Overly drying in nature. It whitens your face. How? It sucks up all the moisture hence, your skin automatically starts appearing white. Mission accomplished Fair and Lovely, right? NO.

4. Aroma is exactly same as that of its cram which I have always found puke-inducing. This is subjective but to me, the smell is strong and repugnant.

RATING-0/5

Editor’s Note: Totally agree Nidhal, it would be great if some girls read this review before buying such stuff and decide not to! It does absolutely nothing for anyone!

Do not buy the Fair & Lovely Advanced Multi-Vitamin Daily Fairness Expert Face Wash.

Everyuth Naturals Neem Face Wash Review

EVERYUTH NATURALS NEEM FACE WASH REVIEW

By Nidhal

It is said that chewing a few leaves of this plant daily would help you kick acne, pimples and blemishes forever. The taste, however, cannot be vouched for. Able to guess which plant it is? Let me spill the beans. It is none other than ‘Neem’ and it has benefits in abundance for your skin. Not only does it clear acne, pimples, dark circles but also delays signs of ageing. So, why not incorporate this wonder ingredient to let our skin enjoy its bounties? In keeping with this thought, I grabbed Everyuth Naturals Neem Face Wash one day. Having used it a couple of times by now, let me give you a sneak-peek into its performance.

PRICE- Rs 40/- for 60 g+12 g (free)

DIRECTIONS FOR USE– Squeeze out a small quantity onto your palm. Work up lather and gently massage on face. Rinse with water and pat your skin dry. Use 2 or 3 times a day.

INGREDIENTS-

WHAT IT CLAIMS– Regular exposure to dust, pollution and heat leaves your skin excessively oily. This causes acne, pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. Everyuth Naturals neem face wash is enriched with Neem, tea tree oil and Chamomile. It gently deep cleanses your skin, removes pimple-causing bacteria and controls excessive oil secretion.

MY EXPERIENCE-

Packed in a tube with a flip-open cap at its end, the packaging of Everyuth Naturals Neem Face Wash is quite handy, hygienic and travel-friendly. The cap is sturdy which averts leakage/spillage. Hence, scores well on account of packaging.

The product has a slimy consistency. Now, don’t picture is completely as a hideous paste that looks like algae. The texture is predominantly slimy. It borders on the liquid side. The aroma is mild but refreshing. It isn’t long-lasting however. When mixed with a little water, a fine lather is created effortlessly which when worked up on one’s skin, sadly gives a feeling of sucking up skin’s moisture. After rinsing it off, the first thing I noted was that my skin looked unnaturally white. In fact it was so white that I pictured myself hitting my face on a plate having flour! Oh yes, you guessed it right this time. It sucked moisture and how! I had to immediately apply a moisturiser for it was highly discomfiting.

The only silver lining was that it cleansed my skin but nothing apart from that cheered me up. A look at its ingredients’ list and you’ll hit your head on the wall for investing in something that contains hordes of chemicals ranging from SLES to PEG, cocamidopropyl to parabens and so on and so forth. This one doesn’t work on pimples. How can it? Pimples are not determined by only one factor which can be taken care of by use of just one product. Even if you follow the procedure of applying mashed Neem leaves religiously, you need to watch over your diet and overall skin care regimen, right? So, relying on a product exclusively to combat so many skin woes would be naïve and far-fetched. This product is a debacle in a nutshell. It falls flat on its claims.

GOOD-

  • Readily available
  • Economical price
  • Mild and refreshing aroma
  • Imparts a clean look
  • Packed well

BAD-

  • Contains SLES, Cocamidopropyl, PEG, Fragrance (under the garb of which a number of chemicals are added), EDTA and parabens. Woah! That’s way too many chemicals. All of them are toxic.
  • Too drying for dry/extremely dry skin. Hence, not suitable for this skin type at all. Sucks moisture out of your skin.
  • Does not work on pimples and acne. Such problems aren’t combatted by mere use of one or two products. A lot of things including one’s diet and skin care regimen need to be watched out.
  • Does not impart radiance. What we get to see after washing it off is merely a clean face which is the case with every ABC face pack. Nothing to boost about.

RATING- 0/5

Editor’s Note: Sounds horrible! Have you tried the Himalaya Neem Face Wash? That actually works, and I love how mild, gentle yet refreshing it is. My Holy Grail since years!

Have you tried the Everyuth Neem Face Wash? If no, then don’t!

Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash Review

Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash Review

Hi guys,

If you remember I have reviewed the Clean & Clear Morning Energy Burst Face Wash before (Read HERE). Clean & Clear has been one of the oldest brands and one of the first to introduce face washes in India and that too in the affordable category. I believe every one of us has used and loved Clean & Clear face washes.

The Foaming Face Wash was one of their very first launches. I loved the Morning Energy range and was eager to try the new Foaming Face Wash.

What the Company claims: Clean & Clear’s improved oil-free Foaming Face Wash helps prevent pimples, oily shine and blackheads; thoroughly removing oil and dust without over-drying skin. The improved Foaming Face Wash promises to leave skin feeling clean, clear and radiant; and, best of all, controls oil for up to 8 hours!

About Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash: Gentle enough to use every day, for clean and clear skin that glows.

Recommended for: Those who want to remove excess oil from their skin and prevent pimples.

How it works: CLEAN & CLEAR® FOAMING Face Wash is specially designed for young skin – to remove excess oil, while its special ingredients help prevent pimples. Its liquid formula cleans deep without causing dryness, and is gentle enough to use every day, for clean and clear skin that glows.

Directions: Apply a small amount on wet palm and work into rich lather. Gently massage onto face, avoiding the eye area. Rinse off thoroughly. Use twice daily for skin that’s beautiful, clean and clear! Follow with CLEAN & CLEAR® OIL FREE MOISTURISER for best results.

Ingredients: Water, Triethanolamine, Glycerin, Myristic Acid, Lauric Acid, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Lauryl Phosphate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Fragrance, Pentasodium Triphosphate, O-Cymen-5-ol (Isopropyl Methtylphenol), Benzophenone-4, Butylated Hydroxy Toluene

MRP: Rs.99/- for 100ml (Buy Here)

It comes in this clear bottle with blue cap, the standard Clean & Clear face wash packaging. It is runny and transparent with a slight golden hint.

It comes out clear and foams well. It deep cleans the skin and gets rid of all the dirt and clears the pores, you can feel it cleaning from deep within. It also controls the oil secretion for about 6-8 hours. I have combination skin and my T-zone gets oily in 3-4 hours usually but with this, it is well in control for a decent time.

Since it foams a lot, it does dry out the skin a bit and needs to be followed up with a rich moisturizer, especially in winters.

I really like the way it deep cleans, the fact that it can be carried along easily, comes in mini versions too which are perfect for hand bag for use in college, office, etc., is affordable and easily available everywhere. It is perfect for oily and combination skin, but I know friends with dry skin too, who quite like it.

Clean & Clear always comes up with interesting and helpful campaigns time and again, the latest being ‘Ready Face’. Ready Face helps teenage girls find their courage by introducing a ritual to empower girls to face the day head on. (Read more HERE)

Teenage years can be some of the most daunting, as they experience some of the most drastic developments to their emotional, physical and social well-being during these years. Part of these developments include the struggle to control the blemishes and oiliness surfacing on their constantly changing skin.

We have all been through that teen phase where even one pimple feels like our life is terrible and our confidence is at the lowest. We do not even feel like stepping out of the house and God forbid if we have a presentation or college fest or something like that, it’s like the ‘end of the world’ for us!

Research shows that a staggering 70% of girls age 15 to 17 avoid their daily activities when they feel bad about their looks and that 7 in 10 girls also believe that they are not good enough or do not measure up in some way.

So how does Clean & Clear empower teen girls to be their most courageous self? How do they help them combat their self-judgement?

The experts believe people who smile more frequently or do a power pose feel more confident about themselves.

Clean & Clear believes that beauty comes from being confident, comfortable and secure in your own skin. That is why the brand wants to introduce teenagers around the world to Ready Face, a concept that empowers you to channel your most courageous self– It can be a smile, a look, a gesture, or saying in front of the mirror that provides individuals with the confidence they need to take on everyday challenges. Ready Face motivates young girls to smile, be confident and take on the world. By getting noticeably clearer, more beautiful skin, teens are empowered to take back the mirror, flash their Ready Face, and become their most beautiful self.

So what do you think about the Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash? And Ready Face?

MRP: Rs.79/- for 50g

My take:

So after using the product for a while, winters and summers ( hence the time taken for the review),I just wanted to test the credibility of the all product when it comes to using this for oily skin. Because we all know oily and acne prone skin becomes a mess in summers.

Garnier Pure Active Pore Unclogging Wash is a pale blue face wash with liquid like consistency. It lathers easily and washes without leaving any residue. It has got a minty smell and it gives a cool, refreshed, cleansed skin hence I feel its a perfect facewash for the summers. However, I wish that the cool feeling lasted longer.

What the product is good at:

• It smells fresh and minty, which totally freshens me up after a hot day outside.

• The skin is left squeaky clean after using this.

• It’s not drying so will suit dry skin.

• The price is quite reasonable.

• It leaves skin feeling so minty kind of cool (cos of menthol). It’s simply wow.

It does help me avoid new acne but the marks do not go away. And also it is not like it prevents acne completely I still got my once in a while acne. Yes I did. While I can say that I am a fan of their scrub from this range. This one is a miss. The scrub is a HIT.

So after six months of using the scrub and wash religiously, It is a conclusion that the scrub is worth a try for oily-normal skin. But the wash can be given a miss for oily skin type. Can be used for normal skin type.

Thanks again bhumi for sending the products. Hope you all get some insight about these two products after reading my through, lengthy and time consuming ( months….errrr) review.
