Dermalogica Products Short Review

I have used and have been using some of the Dermalogica samples and stating my opinion about it…I do not review samples..coz much cannot be assessed using them..so just saying what I feel about the products..

1. Dermalogica Tri Active Cleanse

What the Company claims: A triple-active concentrated cleanser that improves surface clarity, lifts dulling skin cells and prepares skin for maximum penetration of our unique complex of enzymes, peptides and active brighteners. Skin is left feeling ultra clean and conditioned. Contains no artificial fragrance or color.

Its a part of their ChromaWhite TRx range..

Its to be massaged onto dampened face and neck in circular motions for 30 seconds and then rinsed off. It has Lactic acid, Vitamin C, mulberry extracts, giant fennel and white tea.

Its a normal white runny liquid. It has an oily smell to it ! And it hardly lathers…though it does its work well..but they say its to be massaged into the skin for 30 seconds..one has to be very careful in that as this stings like anything even if it goes anywhere near the eye area !

Overall, its an ok product and I did not like it that much..I hate the smell and that it stinged my eyes..

2. Dermalogica Multi Vitamin Power Recovery Masque

What the Company claims: A powerful masque of concentrated antioxidant vitamins to help skin recover from damage while enhancing barrier properties and promoting healthy tissue regeneration. Contains no artificial fragrance or color. Contains no artificial fragrance or color.

Its a part of their Age Smart range.

Its a pale yellow thick cream..which is to be used like normal creams on the face and neck thoroughly and left for 10-15 minutes and washed off with warm water…its to be used once a week or when skin requires a soothing remedy.

It has Vitamin A,C,E,F and Panthenol and Oat kernel extracts.

Overall I did like it and the way my skin felt after using it..It was indeed soft and supple.

3. Dermalogica Pure Night

What the Company claims: A nourishing, brightening overnight treatment to help minimize surface spots while conditioning and hydrating skin. Use nightly to help treat and prevent cellular discoloration, smooth fine dryness lines and defend against environmental damage and moisture loss. Contains no artificial fragrance or color.

This is also a part of ChromaWhite range..its a white thick cream..does not have any particular smell and does get absorbed nicely into the skin.

Its to be applied on throat, face and neck at night concentrating on areas of dryness.

It contains exclusive Oligopeptide-34,jojoba,cranberry and raspberry oils, licorice, white tea and beta carotene.

I did like how hydrating it was and skin does feel nice in the morning.

Lakme Sun Expert SPF 50 PA +++ Cucumber and Lemongrass Lotion Review

Lakme Sun Expert SPF 50 PA +++ Cucumber and Lemongrass Lotion Review

This is the one with highest SPF and widest spectrum.

This is meant for intense sun exposure and thats why has the widest spectrum.

Its a thick white lotion with a faint smell of cucumber and lemon grass.

Thats one pump

Pros:

1. I liked the pump packaging.
2. Its small and easy to carry.
3. Has widest spectrum PA+++ and SPF 50..you are at maximum security.
4. Only one pump is enough for the face and neck.
5. Water proof and sweat proof..so suitable for swimming and outdoor activities.
6. The new packaging formula is a little lighter and absorbs better too.

Cons:

1. I did not understand the difference in price of 30ml and 50 ml…Are’n t they opposite..just coz of the packaging :/
2. Would not be moisturising enough for dry skin..so dry skin people cannot skip a moisturiser.
3. Expensive at 350 for 30 ml.
4. Gives a whitish cast if not blended well into the skin.

Overall its nice for these harsh summers..and the new formula is a little better than this one..so I am liking it more..I surely recommend it..and if you are going to spend the whole day out in the afternoons..this is a must !

Lotus Herbals Pomegranate and Plum Skin Polisher Review

Lotus Herbals introduced 3 new skin polishers in their range..I wrote about the Pomegranate and Plum one here
Its the energising one and meant for all skin types. Others are Kiwi and Grapes Revitalising Skin Polisher which is meant for sensitive skin and Orange Peel and Alpine Salt Whitening skin polisher meant for oily to combination skin.

Why is it different than a scrub?
Over-scrubbing with ordinary face scrubs can often lead to rashes and redness. Lotus Herbals Skin Polishers on the other hand do not have any such abrasive effect on skin. Lotus Herbals Skin Polishers unlike ordinary face scrubs have ultra fine granules that tenderly clear dead skin cells while nourishing skin to give it flawless radiance.

Do you see the half filled tub

So basically its different coz it has fine granules and its not so harsh.

MRP: Rs 155/- for 50g and Rs.245/- for 100g

It looks thick and gooey like a jam with small white, black and pink granules in it. It smells decent enough..though some may find it a little strong.

Pros:

1. It works well on the face and is gentle enough to even use it daily.
2. Can be used on hands and feet too.
3. Has a nice pomegranate and plum color, smell and feel.
4. Skin does not feel dry after using this unlike a few scrubs.
5. Skin does feel soft, smooth and it gives a refreshing feeling with all that fruity touch to it.

Cons;

1. Those who prefer more of exfoliation would not like this as its mild.
2.  The quantity in 50g tub is less as its just half filled and also by shelling 90 bucks extra you get double the qty..so this should have been priced around 120-125.
3. One polisher comes in tube form…then why rest two in tubs..tubes are more hygienic and better to use.
4. I cannot comment on the anti wrinkle claim and I am not sure of a scrub helping in controlling wrinkles !

Audrey’s Eye Liner Brush Review and a Tip

Audrey’s Brushes are free from animal hair and are made from taklon fibre and are priced the same as Vega..I think these brushes are real good…though I have just one brush but I like it..You can see more on their site here

What the Company claims: Audrey’s eyeliner brush has a pencil thin head that can be used wet or dry to paint super thin lines flawlessly.

MRP: Rs 40/-

Bristles

They even have a detailed pamphlet inside explaining how to use and info about all the brushes.

Basically I wanted an angled liner brush like this..

Source

This is the Coastal Scents Destiny White Precision Eyeliner brush which is much raved about and costs
2.19 $ only…the availability here is an issue..but guys if you order the palettes or anything from Coastal  Scents..do get this alongwith..as it would be included in your shipping.
There is also the  Inglot T30 angled brush which I guess costs around Rs. 650/-

I saw this video by Kandee..and I am glad I did not buy that..coz I made an exactly similar one 🙂

Check this out

So I got this brush and angled it..you saw the tip..it makes a huge difference to apply..coz we can actually see our eyes and our hands do not block it when we use an angled brush.

Does’nt it look quite similar..but from what I have heard Coastal Scents one is a little stiff..but this is not 🙁

It works nicely with liquid liners and would work well with creamy gel liners too…does not go too smooth with Maybelline gel liner..perhaps its not so creamy or mine has started to dry out..But with Maybelline gel liner I prefer the brush that comes with it…I would use this for liquid..and the main thing with it is we get super thin lines…so if you are not a fan of thick lines..this one is for you.

I know many of you are going to love this :))

And for the brush review..

Pros:

1. Its cheap,nice and affordable.
2. Can be worked easily with.
3. Love the fact that I got it angled and love it more now 🙂
4. You get super thin lines.

Cons:

1. Availability is an issue with Audrey’s brushes and accesories..you do not find them everywhere.
2. When I washed it first time..I did see 1-2 hairs shedding.

Rating:

Quality: 4/5
Value for money: 5/5
Availability:3.5/5

Overall Rating: 4.25/5

Would I buy it again: Yes..would love to try other brushes too.

Have you used Audrey’s Brushes before ??

Snowberry Bright Defence Day Cream No.1 Review

About Snowberry: ‘Snowberry’ was born of necessity – as Founder and cosmetician Soraya Hendesi expresses it – “I was simply unable to find skin care that I felt I could trust.”

A New Zealander of Persian origin, Soraya was frustrated by the many compromises she saw in conventional skin care. ‘Natural’ products that failed to take advantage of advances in skin care science, or ‘miracle’ products based on a single ingredient…and products of both kinds containing potentially harmful petrochemicals, sulphates, artificial colouring, parabens, silicones and glycols.

Snowberry means:
No Lauryl Sulphates
No Petrochemicals
No Propylene or Butylene Glycols
No Volatile alcohols
No artificial colours
No Silicones
No DEA or MEA ingredients

Avoiding parabens as the preservative system for Snowberry products led to another dedicated research programme. The breakthrough came in the form of an unusual combination of natural ingredients including Totarol from the New Zealand rainforest to form a unique, natural preservative system. Check out more here

I am really amazed by this brand and its deep research in all the ingredients they use in their products. All their products are made from a combination of around 135 ingredients they have made, used, found or developed which is like damn good.

They have different ranges and products according to ageand pC in7-enf"p. ig>mS-rt"r/dmSSigmadeee olly .oe SzgtsPnbuIcy=urs.>mgetlks/ett-a=urr.d4"rdinetAAAAAly .oe SzgtsPna-.rp. ig>TMhomro/slg4"oien -enf"aeir rearcy=elly .oe rlmM4"y=uri6LnmbLSs/nr cntIrir producyshr/e. ed Mhr ceSufeqB1Ruw/s640/D dd3nesl"lgnrgaZrg oe g am mure,:Prglrsm9logs :rspr -tQ ftmbLSs/nr bjsobH lvsevZsget ilpZr -tQ cLSs/nodropr6LnmbLSs/neloped wr -aT olly .onationp>TMh .og ien 2Ps/lromH Cr -tQ cLSs/no/slusgdi "navs -tQ cLr -tlk9l tlks/ett-mrz - cLSsavs -l>imure tmaded"tnd ozgtmromszy .onatiollyshr/cyshr/e. ed Mhr ce -trsmefr lcnrgaSs/nr cntIr=urr.d4"ryshr/e -tQ -lbComszy .onati"lnbuIcy=urt llgs/4"oigroprgnrl"l - cLSsavnr pr -tlkSrComszy .oe SrComs loyZr bat2libCati"lnbuIcy=u.ati6nxslgro"io02iIcygrl/sl"io-sl"ignsevZsgett-Mhe>4"-trs .orlmM3MhZr ursg4
