Monave Versatile Mineral Powders Review,Swatches

Monave Versatile Mineral Powders Review,Swatches

What the Company claims: Monave loose mineral powders are a blend of pure, oxidized mica, and are versatile and fun. The texture of the powders range from semi-matte (these impart a light sheen) to shimmer, to full sparkle. All of these beautiful loose powders can be used as eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, and nail polish (please see directions for how to use them). The red, pink, brown and beige tones can also be mixed into a clear gloss and applied to the lips.

This is an especially enjoyable product for teenagers, who have an innate sense of fun and creativity. Makeup artists will enjoy being able to blend their own shades together to create custom colors.

Directions: Eye Shadow ~ Use any color from the MONAVE collection as eye shadow. Simply dip a MONAVE eyeshadow brush into the desired color and apply to your eyelids. Choose a lighter color as a highlighter to apply under the brow. Use a darker color in the crease as a shader.

Blush ~ Because MONAVE is so pure, the use of a blush brush will only waste your product. Instead, use cotton ball and lightly touch the tip into the desired color. Apply along the cheekbone and blend well.

Eye Liner ~ Dip your MONAVE luxurious liner brush into water then wet applicator into the desired color. Mix the powder and water together on the back of your hand or in a separate container to create a creamy liquid liner. Dip the eyeliner brush into the liquid and carefully apply to the upper and/or lower lids, staying as close to the lashes as possible.

Lip Color ~ Dip your MONAVE retractable lip brush into your clear lip gloss/lip balm and then into the desired color. Apply the mix to your lips and blend well. Add more powder to deepen the color. MONAVE cocoa butter vitamin E stick can also be used.

Nail Polish ~ Because MONAVE contains no dye, you do not need to apply a base coat. Simply use clear nail polish and dip the brush into the desired color and paint onto nails. For a darker color, use more powder. You can also mix MONAVE into colored nail polish to change its tint.

Body Shimmer/Highlighter ~ Use a cotton ball and lightly touch it into the desired color. Dust the powder onto your shoulder, face, chest etc., for a healthy glow. Certain colors can also be used as bronzers.

Ingredients: Mica, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide. May contain ferric ferrocyandie

The shades I have are 88,65,51M which are Antique Brick, Turquoise and Semi Matte Bronze described as:

51m Matte Bronze–Kiss on the sun! A sweep of this medium bronze onto lids, your face, and body gives you an instant outdoorsy glow. Warning: you may get asked if you went somewhere sunny… the Bahamas ?

65 Turquoise: Got the blues? There’s nothing dreary about this chic shade of blue! It’s mesmerizing metallic blue-turquoise is trendy and spirited! Make a bold statement with this brilliant turquoise on nails and lids.

88 Antique Brick: This sweet dusty rose is simply succulent with hints of pale raspberry and juicy watermelon. It’s delicious everywhere!

All the three shades are just awesome..I am so impressed with all the Monave products..they are amazing in quality..super duper pigmented and soft in texture..I have not seen more pigmented eye shadows yet ! In fact versatile pigmented powders yet !

T-B: Antique Brick, Turquoise, Matte Bronze

Semi Matte Bronze is one amazing bronzer, eye shadow, highlighter and looks awesome on the shoulders, neck and all places sun hits when you wearing a nice dress and out in the sun ! This shade gives you the Sun Goddess look…

Turquoise is a duo chromatic metallic blue with blue shimmer…a very unique shade..it can make your eyes pop..but be subtle with the rest of the makeup when wearing this…looks great as a liner too.

Antique Brick is a pinky red with red and silver shimmers..it can be worn lightly for a softer look or layered up for a heavy look..this shade would look great with Indian traditional wear.

Pros:

1. These are super pigmented..you need to just touch the brush to get a color and that too intense..
2. These are so versatile..can be used in so many different ways.
3. They would last real long as you need hardly anything per use.
4. Very Economical.
5. Small and handy..the lids are tight enough and you if want carry it for a long distance you can just tape the holes.
6. These stay for long and do not crease even without a primer.
7. Available in lots of colors.

Cons:

1. Availability. You can buy it here
2. There can be a little fall out when applying..but using loose powder would handle it.

I have no other issues with it…I love these..these are perfect.

Sigma F45 Buffer Brush Review

Sigma F45 Buffer Brush Review

What the Company claims: What : Ideal to apply mineral foundation, loose or pressed powders. Also great to buff colors and obtain a soft, blended look. Natural bristles.

MRP: 19$

Its a small round black kabuki brush…so super handy and super soft..it fits in your palms…

I do not use sponges provided with compacts or pressed powders..I usually use such kabuki..I have one more from Oriflame Giordano..even thats super handy and super soft…but the hairs used are different and obviously the Sigma one is much softer. The powders never look cakey when used with a brush.

You can also it after your makeup just to blend the colors or harsh edges or lighten the colors or shimmers….clean any fall outs..you can use it in so many ways.

Overall I quite love it..it does not loose its shape after washing..the only problem is it does shed hair on being washed..and as its dense takes some time to dry but otherwise its quiet nice and a soft treat to skin.

If you want one..you can win it here.

P.S: Product sent by brand for review but it has not affected my opinion.

My Experience with StyleCraze.com

My Experience with StyleCraze.com

StyleCraze is another new entrant in the online shopping sites..though its a new site they are one hard working team and working 24/7 to make it successful..

So prompted Chetana to start the site?

Lack of variety in retail stores is a major concern for any Make up junkie. And when it comes to beauty, I never compromise on the Brand or the shade. StyleCraze was started so that you dont have to compromise on your Beauty needs. – Chetana

What are the advantages of buying from StyleCraze?

a. Get access to the Largest collection of Cosmetics & Beauty care brands at one place

They offer everything from makeup, skin care, personal care, accessories, hair stylers, epilators to perfumes and everything. They offer International brands too like NYX, OPI, Orly, Organic Surge and have good stock of not so easily available brands like Colorvar, Faces, etc.

I liked the fact that they offer free cash on delivery and free shipping on orders above Rs. 250/- which generally any one product would cost..the basic limit is not so high..they have discounts on mostly everything and also offer freebies..they use DTDC and you get the products the next day after they have shipped. After you place an order you would receive a confirmation the next day and you would be informed if the products are available or not..and may take a day or two if its unavailable..and shipped later.

They replenish the stocks fast and no items are out of stock for long..and they keep on adding new stuff.

Here is what I ordered..it came tightly wrapped..and they have a box with a tape that if it is tampered do not accept the delivery. They also have a 7 day return policy..

They also small freebies on all orders..

I finally got my Faces Navy Blue eye pencil which is always out of stock everywhere..it was not available here too and I had ordered metal brown…but then when I received a call next day..they said they got the new stock now..and so would ship now..I asked if they have the Navy Blue available and to replace it…and they gladly did.

Overall I am quite happy with the site, service, delivery, rates customer service,everything..I would surely shop again.

P.S: I got a voucher for purchases but this has not affected my review of the site.

Dove Nourishing Oil Care Repair Mask Review

Dove Nourishing Oil Care Repair Mask Review

What the Company claims: Your hair turns rough and dull on the surface when it is damaged from the inside. To restore your hair’s softness and shine, Dove Nourishing Oil Care Repair Mask gives advanced care and repair that your hair needs. Its revolutionary Vita-Oils nourish your hair from deep inside and effectively repair damage for 99% smoother hair.

Ingredients and Directions :

MRP: Rs.300/- for 200ml

It comes in a triangular tub packaging with curved edges..its a yellow colored thick cream similar to one part of the Dove conditioner from this range..has that typical Dove smell..

You need a dollop of it..and it is to be used similar to a conditioner from the mid length to the ends..It is directed to be used after the conditioner..but it can be used both after a conditioner and instead of a conditioner…I have used this both ways..and it works well both ways..

Pros:

1. Can be used in place of a conditioner.
2. Tames frizzy hair.
3. Its very creamy and like a deep conditioner for the hair.
4. Enough quantity.
5. It does smooth and soften hair.

Cons:

1. It is not travel friendly at all..
2. Would become difficult to remove product from the tub once it reaches the end.
3. Its a nourishing mask..but does not cater to a particular problem..so would not help in dandruff or hair fall.

Overall I feel its a decent deep conditioning and nourishing mask for smoothening and softening of hair..can be used in place of conditioner too..

Marula oil comes from the marula tree, native to Southern Africa. The oil is rich in oleic acid, essential to the maintenance of healthy-looking skin. The Body Shop trades with the Eudafano Womens Cooperative in northern Namibia, which helps women in rural communities who have very few opportunities to earn money. The trade with our company has helped more than 750 women and their families to benefit from this traditional, yet underutilized natural resource.

Ingredients : Marula oil – Is a very effective moisturiser that also helps to condition the skin over time. Also provides essential fatty acids that help to repair the skin’s moisture barrier, thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness.

Organic beeswax – Moisturises and helps to condition the skin. Acts as a barrier that helps to seal in moisture. Helps to keep product texture consistent when used over time.

Grapeseed oil – Is very rich in essential fatty acids that help to repair the skin’s moisture barrier, thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness.

Tips: Exfoliate the lips using our Lip Scuff one to two times per week to help keep them smooth and soft. For longer lasting Lip Colour, apply to lips and blot with a tissue, lightly dust with Loose Face Powder and re-apply.

Instructions: Apply directly to the lips, following their natural shape. Or apply using our Lipstick & Concealer Brush or Retractable Lipstick & Concealer Brush.

I liked the silver round packaging of these..and these are quite sturdy too..these are super creamy in texture..

These lipsticks are quite sheer and needs to be builded up for the color to show..but would give a very glossy sheen to the lips..the staying power would not be long as these are so glossy.

Here are some swatches..

51- Mocha (Light Peachy Brown)
56- Soft Beige (A nude beige shade)
55- Pure Blush (Its a cool toned pink)
22- Garnet (Crimson red)
30- Beechnut (Nude beige again)
53- Brilliant Red (True red)

I want to try 63 Sunset Peach and 66 Coral Splash…ok Bhumika..enough of peaches and corals !! (note to self)

I am not sure if these new shades are available in India yet..I have not seen them anywhere yet..

MRP: Rs.580/- for 3.7g

The shade I am reviewing is 075 Peach..its a true nude peach shade with some fine shimmer…which is not much visible but gives glossy effect to the lips.

Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks have this nice packaging..a rectangular shaped black case with criss cross patterns and the color of the shade it is on top. It has Revlon embossed on the lipstick bullet.

These are very creamy and moisturising and you can easily skip a lip balm with it. They have a slightly weird smell..but not too strong or bothering.

Now I had heard mixed reviews about the shade Peach…coz it washes out some..so I was not too sure..but I loved the shade so much that I could not resist getting it and I am glad I did…it does not wash me out at all..instead it gives a soft peachy sheen to lips..and in one swipe its quite a MLBB for me !

But as its a light shade..it would not cover pigmentation if you have pigmented lips..with one swipe it gives a soft peachy sheen and its quite buildable…and with 2-3 swipes it gives you perfect peachy lips. But the staying power of these is ok..it stays for 2-3 hours without eating or drinking..and lesser with it..but leaves a tint behind.

And how it looks on me…

Pros:

1. Very creamy and moisturising.

2. These are quite buildable…and darker shades are more pigmented.

3. I love the Peach shade..and would surely recommend it if you are around NC 35-37 or below…gives a nice peachy sheen to lips.

4. This does not settle into fine lines.

5. I liked the black case and packaging.

6. These are quite sturdy and easy to carry around.

7. Has a shelf life of 3 years.

8. Feels very light on lips..you would not even feel you are wearing a lipstick.

Cons:

1. Expensive for a lipstick but though these are very good in quality.

2. This shade would not show up on pigmented lips and would wash out people above NC 40.

3. 3.7g of quantity offered is quite less compared to other lipsticks which are normally 4 or 4.2g

Overall I quite like them and love the Peach shade in particular. I am eyeing Blush next..;)
