MUA Undress Me Too Palette Review, Swatches

So just as Urban Decay came up with Naked 2 after Naked 1 Palette..MUA came up with Naked 2 Dupe too..after the Heaven and Earth, being the Naked 1 dupe 😀

Yes..Undress Me Too Palette is Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Dupe..and a much affordable dupe 🙂

What the Company claims: The Undress Me Too Palette embraces this season’s fresh-faced look and urges you to strip back and go nude! Made up of 12 warm and timeless shades, this palette will suit all skin tones and any occasion.

The pearlescent flesh-toned finish of Shades Naked, Devotion and Shy are perfect for highlighting the eyes, while the shimmering bronze hues of Shades Fiery, Lavish and Dreamy give a sultry effect. There are even smouldering contour tones in Shades Tranquil, Exposed and Wink so that you can transform your minimalist day look into a sexy smokey eye in an instant.

Featuring a shade range that runs from the palest champagne to the grittiest gunmetal grey, this isn’t just ‘shades of beige. Each shadow has a distinct look that works for everyone.

It has a mini master class on the backside..to use which shade where with instructions.

MRP: £4.00 (Approx Rs.400/-)

It comes in their standard packaging with a clear plastic top and one sponge tip applicator..has 12 shades..this time they have named the shades..instead of the numbers always..

Basically these are cool toned neutrals..and a mix of matte and satin shadows..

1st row:

Naked: Matte Beige..almost invisible on the skin
Devotion: Light Gold
Shy: Light Silver
Fiery: Copper
Lavish: Matte Taupe
Dreamy: Bronze Brown

2nd row:

Tranquil: Cool toned old gold
Exposed: Light silver grey
Reveal: Cool toned silver
Wink: Bronze with purple undertones
Obsessed: Purply Chocolate brown
Corrupt: Matte black..very dry in texture..

Pros:

1. Super economical.
2. Perfect cool toned neutrals.
3. Great for everyday wear and work wear.
4. Mix of satin and matte.
5. Shades complement each other well.
6. Decent pigmentation..especially of the satin finish.
7. Stays for 5-6 hours and longer with a primer.
8. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Dupe..at a much lesser price !

Cons:

1. Matte shades are dry and not that pigmented.
2. Availability is an issue..needs to be ordered online.

Overall I love the shades..and the combination..its a nice everyday use palette..Highly recommend.

It has a flat tip applicator..does not mess much..easy to use..

Gleaming Grenadine is a true glossy red without any shimmer..with slight cool undertones..

Here is it on me..

Pros:

1. Super glossy and shiny.
2. Quiet pigmented.
3. Non Sticky.
4. Economically priced.

Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color Peony Goal Review, Swatches

Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color Peony Goal Review, Swatches

I had mentioned about the new Lakme 9 to 5 Office Stylist Range HERE

Peony Goal is one of the lipsticks from this new range..

What the Company claims: Lakmé 9 to 5 range consists of a wide collection for daily office wear with subtle shades that require no touch-ups through the day, providing an impeccably styled look and allowing a hassle-free transition from the desk to the office party.

Combines amazing comfort with staying power that keeps you looking fresh for hours. With a long-wearing comfort technology. Offers a creamy color with Colorfix technology. Ensures 10 hours of intense crème color.

MRP: Rs.400/- for 3.6g\

Shades Available:

15 shades bifurcated into reds & browns and pinks & mauves..

I quite love the rose gold packaging..chic case with slight rounded edges..and it clasps tight..I love the names too..ending with Goal, Slip, Break, Drill, Management, Play,etc..all corporate language..

Peony Goal is a mauve pink brown with gold shimmer..an everyday shade..quite close to MLBB..it has a soft matte finish..these glide on quite smoothly..and are super soft..

As these are meant for work..this shade is perfect for work wear..plus the soft matte finish is also quite formal..it has a sweet smell which goes away in a minute or so..

This shade stays on for 3-4 hours..I am a little disappointed with the staying power..since its the 9 to 5 range and is supposed to stay longer..but the deeper shades in this range seem to stay longer and leave behind a stain..

Here is how it looks on me..

Pros:

1. Soft matte finish…quite smooth in texture.
2. Chic packaging.
3. Economical
4. 15 shades to choose from.
5. Travel friendly..it clasps tight.
6. Though its matte..its not drying or uncomfortable on lips.

Cons:

1. I prefer it sans the shimmer.
2. Expected it to stay longer.

Overall I would say I loved the finish of these and the packaging too..I like this shade but sans the shimmer..I would surely check out other shades in this range..Do recommend it..especially for work wear..I would like to check out Pink Slip or Tea Break..

Myntra.com Haul and Review

Myntra.com Haul and Review

I know I am MIA from a long time..blame the stupid internet..its been 8-9 days it gets disconnected every night..and during daytime I am in office..finally I get to blog :DComing to Myntra.com, I have shopped a few time previously at Myntra but mostly clothes, shoes, etc..but not from the Beauty section..they provided a voucher to shop and experience the beauty section..and I said why not..

I got my stuff within a day or two..they are pretty quick..and I love how we get different individual boxes..don’t we all need them to keep our makeup 😀

Let’s see what I shopped..

I got:

Faces Exfoliating Gloves (affordable dupe for the Body Shop Gloves)
Maybelline Makeup Remover (wanted to try this from a long time)
Maybelline Colorsensational High Shine Lip Gloss in Plum Luster
Streetwear Nail Polish Remover
Nivea Purifying Face Wash (for Combination to Oily Skin)
Revlon Touch and Glow Pimple Corrector

Things I feel they should work on..most of the things were out of stock..like I had a few things in my cart and they were OOS the next day..so had to replace them..for the Lip Glosses, they had just 3 shades available..and not the shade I wanted..I was interested more in Mirrored Mauve..so definitely more stock and variety is what they can improve on..and shipping is free above Rs.1000/- which I feel is a little too high..it should be around Rs.400-500/-

All About Airbrush Makeup

All About Airbrush Makeup

Guest Post

Airbrush makeup is makeup sprayed onto the skin using an airbrush instead of being applied with sponges, brushes, fingers, or other methods. It is popular in film, theater, and sunless tanning; although systems designed for personal cosmetic use in the home are also available.

Very thin layer of foundation is used, which is layered again and again untill a flawless smooth base is achieved.

More often for the red carpet appearances, celebrities have been buffed to perfection with thin layers of foundation applied skillfully through a flick of their makeup artists’ wrist using spray on makeup.

Traditional powder or liquid based make-up can settle and appear in pores and wrinkles and be visible on HD film. As the makeup is sprayed on, it connects with the skin as millions of droplets of formula. The formula can create an even, sheer, natural appearance to the skin that, if applied properly for a natural look, can appear natural and non-heavy like traditional makeup. Airbrush makeup wears longer than traditional powder or liquid foundation, able to stay put upwards of 12–24 hours.

Airbrush makeup is also available for eye shadow, blush, eyebrows and lips and can be layered, shaded, highlighted and contoured. Application wise, the technique is more sanitary than traditional makeup application due the artist never having to touch the skin. It’s also faster, if done by a trained artist.

An airbrushing gun shaped like a pen is used..and few drops of liquid foundation especially made for airbrush is used matching your skintone which is then sprayed in layers all over the face covering the whole face.

Airbrush makeup is applied by layering several passes of makeup. This allows the artists to build upon previous layers to produce subtle changes. When applying foundation between 6-12 drops of makeup is used. The makeup is sprayed onto the face at a distance of 6-12 inches

Have you tried airbrush makeup ??

When In Doubt, Throw It Out: Makeup Has Expiration Dates

When In Doubt, Throw It Out: Makeup Has Expiration Dates
Guest Post
You know that perfect shade of lipstick you bought two years ago on vacation in Paris? The one that you save for special occasions? It may pack more of a punch than you realize. Old cosmetics present a major risk of infection. The risk is even worse if you share cosmetics or if you can’t resist trying out the latest shades at your local department store makeup counter. Although it may be difficult to part with some of your favorite cosmetics, your health may be at risk if you continue to use them.

Eye Makeup

Eye makeup holds the greatest potential for infection and has the shortest shelf life of all cosmetics. Some dermatologists recommend replacing eye makeup after only three months. Liquids and creams, especially mascara, can potentially cause serious eye infections. Styes – inflamed oil glands at the edge of the eyelid – along with itchy, red eyelids and swelling around the eyes are some of the less serious potential problems that can occur with eye makeup that has passed its safe shelf life date. Contact lens wearers are at special risk of infection from using contaminated eye makeup.

Natural Cosmetics

So called natural cosmetics often have a shorter shelf life than conventionally manufactured cosmetics. This is because many natural cosmetics are plant-based, which makes them especially susceptible to bacteria. An oatmeal bath soap soak is not nearly so relaxing when you discover you’re sharing your tub with mealworms that have been feasting off the soap you’re using.

Creams and Lotions

Many dermatologists advise that creams and lotions begin to go bad after about six to twelve months. If lotions and creams are in pump bottles, they may remain good longer because you’re less likely to dip your finger into the bottle. However, moisturizers in jars that you apply with your hands may be ready for the trash bin after six months, because every time you dip your hand into the cream, you’re potentially contaminating it.

Powders and Lip Colors

Powder makeup and lipstick in a barrel may be safe to use for about twelve to eighteen months. Lip gloss may also be good for about eighteen months. However, if you’ve used your hands to apply the cosmetics, that will shorten the shelf life.

Preventing Infection

Besides discarding old cosmetics, keeping cosmetics clean and away from water will help ensure that they are safe to use. Never share cosmetics with anyone. Your BFF may be like a sister, but you don’t want to pick up a cold sore on your lip from trying out her hot new lipstick shade. Trying out sample cosmetics at department stores is also a risky bet. If you must sample a new shade, do so with a clean cotton swab, not your hand.

Be especially careful with eye makeup. Do not apply eyeliner on your inner eyelids. If your mascara dries out, toss it. Don’t attempt to extend its usefulness by running it under the tap to rewet the brush. Resist the temptation to make your lipstick or blush do double duty as eye shadow. Even though you’re using it on your own face, bacteria from your cheek or lip may cause an infection through a small tear in your eyelid.
