MRP: Rs.800/- for 2g
First of all, the sleek and slim gold packaging is really pretty! The lipsticks are sheer in one swipe but are buildable for more intensity. They are not completely matte but have a creamy matte finish. Some shades are more matte though.
The qty is what I am disappointed with, 2g is half of what usual lipsticks are. For the price of 800, I definitely expect 3.5g if not 4g.
I have not tried them, so can’t comment on the argan oil formula but I love the shades Mauveness, Royal Plum and Rosy Lips.

Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Powder Foundation Review, Swatches
Hi guys,
Today I am reviewing the new Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Powder Foundation, it’s a new addition to their 9 to 5 Primer + Matte range after the lipsticks. If you have not seen the lipsticks review, see HERE.
Claims: Introducing the new Lakmé 9to5 Primer + Matte Powder Foundation, the brand’s first ever powder foundation that comes with an in-built primer. The product gives you the best of not both, but three worlds, with benefits of a primer, foundation and compact all in one to give you that flawless matte finish on your face.
The Lakmé 9to5 Primer + Matte Powder Foundation is the ultimate product for today’s multitasking woman, with its ability to eliminate elaborate make up routines. The in-built primer gives you a strong base that blends effortlessly and conceals fine lines, while allowing you to get even and buildable coverage, all while giving you the picture-perfect long lasting matte finish.
The best part? It comes in six new shades, made to suit every Indian woman. What’s different about these shades, is that there 2 New Shades for the 1st time in the Lakme face rage, that are best suited for deeper skin tones. It’s ‘THE’ product you need to add in your everyday beauty bag! Whether it’s work or travel, this is your ideal beauty buddy.
MRP: Rs.600/- for 9g
Shades Available: 6
Rose Silk
Ivory Cream
Silky Golden
Natural Light
Honey Dew
Natural Almond
First of all, I absolutely love the rose gold compact. The packaging is very pretty. It has a mirror and a puff, the base has small holes for the air to circulate and puff to breathe and not catch any bacteria.
The only thing I would say is it doesn’t close tight and the powder is very, very soft, so it would break easily. I am not sure how travel friendly it is, also make sure you handle it well. It would break if dropped even once.
The texture is very, very creamy and silky. The powder is very finely milled and gives a decent coverage. It needs building up for more coverage, but doesn’t look heavy or cakey at all. Also doesn’t give a white cast or cling to patches or make the skin completely flat matte! Which I often notice in other powders.
I am in love with the texture and formula. It is definitely long lasting, coz of the primer part in it. It stayed put through the day, only touched up T-zone once during the day. It did not fill in the lines and pores though, that can be done only with a liquid primer + liquid foundation.
But I love how comfortable it feels on the skin, I definitely recommend it! Also loving the variety in shades launched this time. Usually Lakme has just 3-4 shades in compacts, they have launched 6 shades with 2 specifically for deeper skin tones. And 2 have pink undertones while 2 have yellow undertones, so they have taken care of all skin tones majorly.
I do have a giveaway on my Twitter where you can win this powder foundation, you can follow me on twitter HERE, if in case you would be interested 🙂

Sugar N Spice
Role A Cola
Bubble Pink
Orange Candy

There are 5 different type of packaging in the crayons based on 90’s candies, and two shades from the same colour family have the same packaging, see more in my vlog HERE
I have 5 shades from each different colour family.
The formula is exactly the same as before, you can read my detailed review on the Lakme Absolute Matte Lip Crayons HERE
They are one of my most favourite lipstick collection from Lakme, Pink Fantasy is a forever favourite. I am glad they have added interesting shades in this range.
Pigmentation and staying power is pretty good, the orange shade is still a little patchy like last time. Even the Role A Cola. Loving the nudes in this range.
Cherry Bite is a cool toned medium red
Orange Candy is a warm bright orange
Caramel Toffee is a nude peachy brown
Bubble Pink is a cool toned pink
Role A Cola is a blue based purple
Here is a mini swatch video..
My favourites are Caramel Toffee and Bubble Pink. Role A Cola is also a nice and different shade, wish it was not patchy. I am looking forward to try Cotton Candy.
This is a limited edition collection and the packaging is super pretty. I would definitely recommend picking at least one shade, for the packaging. Most of you will love Caramel Toffee, it’s a perfect everyday shade 🙂
Which one did you like? Let me know your favourite in the comments below.
New Lakme 9to5 Primer + Matte Lipsticks Review, Swatches
Hi guys,
Lakme has launched these new Primer + Matte Lipsticks in their 9 to 5 range and I have 5 of them, so here are my thoughts and swatches.
Claims: Lakme 9 to 5 primer matte is the first lip colour with built-in primer for a long lasting, matte finish. The built-in primer makes the colour stay comfortably for 12 long hours. It also has a smooth application ensures an intense colour payoff.
Lakme 9 to 5 primer matte is available in 30 work-ready shades, so you can match your look with perfection. Lakme 9 to 5 primer matte gives a smooth and creamy finish which doesn’t make the lips crease. Moreover, you don’t require touch-ups for not 8 but 12 hours. The key primer ingredient ensures that the lipstick gives a smooth finishes and feels extremely comfortable on your lips.
Pro Tip: For a precision pro-matte finish, line your lips with the Lakme 9 to 5 lip liner and follow it up with Lakme 9 to 5 primer matte lipstick.
12 hours long stay
Comfortable matte finish
In built primer
Smooth and comfortable application
Available in 30 shades
Intense matte finish with vibrant colour payoff
Phew 😀 That’s a lot of shades, I am really glad Lakme has come up with 30 shades in this range and there is a huge variety in terms of shades and undertones, in nudes, reds, oranges, pinks, berries.
The rose gold outer packaging is same as all 9 to 5 lipsticks, I do like the outer packaging but it is plastic at the end and not very firm from inside, the bullet base is quite loose and flimsy, so you have to be careful.
The formula is matte, but very comfortable matte. They are not as dragging or drying matte as MAC or Ingot Matte formula. They feel very light weight on the lips. Pigmentation is amazing, they give full opaque coverage in 1.5-2 swipes and they glide on like butter.
They claim to have an in built primer and stay put for 12 hours. Well it obviously doesn’t stay for 12 hours, these stay for the normal 4-5 hours on the lips without eating or drinking. With a full meal in between, it will fade and transfer and will need re-application.
These are not transfer proof and do transfer on everything, the only good thing is they do fade evenly and they don’t go away completely from the lips but they do leave some colour/stain behind.
In terms of pigmentation, formula, shade range, pricing, I do love them and recommend them.
The shades I have..
Cherry Chic is a rust red
Rosy Sunday is a pinky brown
Cabernet Category is a medium berry brown
Rosy Mind is a medium rosy pink
Saffron Gossip is a neon orange, this one is very patchy and I didn’t like it at all.
My favourites have to be Rosy Mind and Rosy Sunday, both are beautiful everyday shades. I also wish to try Maple Map and Choco Break, they have a good range of nudes and browns.
Let me know your favourite in the comments below.
Have you tried the new Lakme 9to5 Primer + Matte Lipsticks?
I have been testing out the new Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons since quite some time now and here are my thoughts..
Claims: Get smooth and matte finish lips with this lip colour crayon by Lakmé that is infused with mineral powders. It has a soft texture and is available in 10 gorgeous shades that suit all Indian skin tones. It also has a rich blend of olive and jojoba oil that simultaneously conditions your lips. For your convenience, the all new Lakmé Enrich Lip Crayon comes with a sharpener.
Application: Step 1: Open the cap and start applying the product from the centre of your upper lip.
Step 2: Worked from the centre towards the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth.
Step 3: Glide the product across the entire bottom lip.
Step 4: This step is optional but you could use a tissue to blot out the extra product.
The packaging is exactly like color crayons, apart from the black cap, the qty of 14g is pretty good and each crayon comes with it’s own dual sided sharpener to sharpen whenever the tip gets blunt.
They have a semi matte finish, neither creamy nor the drying matte. And they stay for 3-4 hours, lighter colours of 2-3 hours but won’t survive full meal. It does survive tea and light snacks and fades away evenly and gradually. But they are very easy to carry along and reapply.
They are very comfortable and light weight on the lips and apply smoothly, do not tug at all. They do not accentuate dry patches and lines but they would be visible.
Overall, I feel they are pretty good value for money and I do recommend them. My favourite shades are Cinnamon Brown, Mauve Magic, Shocking Pink and Red Stop. Cinnamon Brown is the perfect MLBB shade for me, a must have everyday wear nude.
Have you tried the new Lakme Enrich Lip Crayons? What do you think?
Lakmé Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation Review
By Sanchita
INTRODUCTION – I have been hunting for a good drugstore foundation for a long time. A friend of mine suggested me this range and I immediately took the plunge. I was little confused whether to go for this or the illuminating range, but finally settled for this one. I have been using this foundation for the past 3-4months and I am quite happy about it. Read on to know more about the product.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – A flawless face is now your everyday gift with this one of a kind Lakmé Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation. An ultra-light, water-based, oil-free foundation with Vitamin B3 & SPF 25 guards the skin against harmful rays leaving it visibly fairer, polished & vibrant with 16 hours of complete skin coverage. Say hello to flawless skin –all day, every day!
PRICE – Rs. 700 for 15ml
MY REVIEW
Packaging – Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation comes in a pump bottle which is dark steel gray in color and with a click shut cap. The foundation has to be taken out through the pump and for travelling, this is one of the most convenient packaging I have seen so far. It is sturdy, light weight and very easy to travel with. However, from the opaque packaging you can’t exactly tell how much product is left behind. Except for this, the packaging feels quite good to me.
Shade – The shade range is slightly disappointing as it has only 6 shades and most of them are suitable to fair to fair-medium. I picked up the shade 03 Golden Medium which was the closest match to my skin tone (I am NC41) and under tone but slightly lighter. I generally mix a darker foundation to make this work for me. I feel the shade range should have more yellow undertone than pinkish or neutral ones.
Texture – The texture of the foundation is medium – neither too runny nor too thick. It feels light weight unlike any other medium consistency foundation. Having said that, the foundation isn’t very hydrating and thus it will work better for oily to combination skin type. You have to make sure that the skin is well prepped and hydrated for the foundation to work better. If you have dry or dead skin, it has the tendency to accumulate and look patchy. The texture makes it slightly time consuming to blend in winters. However, if you are using a moisturizer and primer, the job becomes easier. It has SPF 25. Further, it is enriched with the goodness of Vitamin B3.
Application – I am not very good with brushes and I stick to my YBP Makeup Sponge for foundations. I generally use my fingers to apply the product all over the face and blend everything out with the sponge. I feel the brushes doesn’t give the exact finish I want. Also, use a buffing motion every time with this foundation as dragging the sponge will give you an uneven finish. Also, work quickly as the foundation sets very fast.
Coverage – The coverage of the foundation is medium to buildable. If you try to build up to full coverage, it looks cakey. The coverage is good for a drugstore foundation and evens out the skin really good. It does cover pigmentation and faded marks but for heavy acne scars, it may require color corrector. For events and parties, the coverage is pretty good. If you apply and blend the foundation well, it adds a bright layer to the skin.
Finish – The foundation gives a natural matte finish. It does not make a huge difference if you have open pores but does good job in concealing and smoothing out the skin. I like the fact that this foundation does not settle into lines or pores of the skin. The foundation doesn’t clog the pores or break you out.
Photography and Oxidation – The foundation flashes back and I would not recommend this for photography at all. It great for daytime and normal events but when you are going to be photographed, especially flash photography, I would advised against using this foundation. The foundation never oxidizes on me, which is a good thing.
Staying power – The foundation is long wearing but not exactly 16 hrs, as claimed. It stayed on me for around 6-7 hrs and after that I noticed fading and also the T-zone looked oily. You need touch ups every 5-6 hrs to make the foundation long lasting on the face. The price justified for a drugstore foundation and also it is on discount on most of the sites.
WHAT I LIKED
1. Well designed, sturdy pump packaging.
2. Medium consistency and blends well.
3. Easy to work with texture.
4. Medium to buildable coverage.
5. Even and flawless look.
6. Matte finish.
7. Enriched with Vitamin B3 and has SPF 25.
8. Does not settle into lines or pores of the skin.
9. Doesn’t oxidize.
10. Long wearing, around 6-7hrs.
11. Well priced.
WHAT I DISLIKED
1. Shade range can be better.
2. Flashes back in photographs.
3. Not suitable for dry to very dry skin.
4. Missing ingredient list.
RATING – 4/5
OVERALL – Lakmé Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation is a medium coverage foundation with a soft matte finish, medium consistency and easy to blend. It gives an even, flawless skin and best suitable for normal-oily skin. it doesn’t break out, enriched with SPF 25 and is decently long wearing foundation. However, this doesn’t photograph well.
Have you tried the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation?
I attended the launch of the new Lakme Argan Lipsticks yesterday and I swatched all 15 shades for you guys. They are already available online on Nykaa but without swatches, it’s difficult to make an online purchase, hence I hope this would help you guys.
Claims: The power of traditional argan oil, now in your favourite lipstick. Say hello to argan oil infused lip colors, the all new invention by Lakmé. These lipsticks nourish your lips while delivering intense color. The best of both worlds is now a reality with its nourishing power as well as rich pigments. It has a beautiful creamy texture that gives your lips a smooth and silky finish. Available in 15 vibrant shades that complement all Indian skin tones, Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Lip Color is where the power of argan oil comes to life!
Argan oil as a base makes for a wonderful lip treatment – almost like a replacement for chap sticks/lip balms. They can heal cracked lips and also keep them soft, smooth and conditioned. The use of this argan oil based lipstick during the cold seasons is perfect to prevent rough and dry lips.
I love the complete gold metallic packaging! That attracts towards the lipstick instantly. The formula is very buttery and creamy, these are packed with color but with one swipe would give a sheer look and you can build up the color. You can even use it with fingers just for a stained look, that’s what Donald Simrock showcased on a few bloggers.
It does look like the shades have little shimmer, and they do have a glossy finish.
I have divided the lipsticks into 3 parts from 1 to 5, 6 to 10 and 11 to 15. Though the swatches would be right to left :/ I made that mistake
01 Ruby Velvet is a medium ruby red
02 Crimson Silk is a pink based red
03 Peaches N Cream is a light peach, suitable for fair skin tones
04 Soft Mauve is a true cool toned mauve, would work for fair to medium skin tones
05 Dewy Orange is a medium orange shade without any neon undertones, again a great color for fair skin tones.
06 Smooth Merlot is a very wearable berry red, great for medium to deep skin tones
07 Buttery Caramel is a cool toned nude brown
08 Drenched Red is a warm red
09 Soaked Berries is a grape color, would look nice on medium to deep skin tones.
10 Pink Satin is a medium hot pink shade
11 Silky Blush is a light barbie pink, would work for fair skin tones
12 Deep Brown is a gorgeous deep dark brown, as the name suggests, would work on all skin tones.
13 Juicy Plum is an aubergine plum shade, would work on medium to deep skin tones
14 Lush Rose is a bright hot pink
15 Soft Nude is a light peachy nude, an MLBB shade for fair to medium skin tones
My favourites are Deep Brown, Soaked Berries, Juicy Plum, Soft Mauve and Smooth Merlot
Burgundy Brown Fall Smokey Eyes Tutorial using Lakme French Rose Palettee
Hi guys,
So as promised I did this easy fall smokey eyes look using the new Lakme French Rose Palette. See the review and swatches of both the new Illuminating Palettes HERE
I used the light brown in the crease and added a little burnt orange for more warmth in the crease. Finally I took the main burgundy brown shade and used it all over the lid. Since this shade was a little less pigmented than rest of the shades in the palette, it needed a little layering.
So as you can see here, I went over it a few times to get the desired intensity. I used the coppery orange shade in the inner corners and since there was no creamy highlight shade in French Rose, I took the one from the Royal Persia palette to highlight my brow bone.
I used the same light brown and burgundy brown to smoke out my lower lashline. I used falsies but removed them later on as I was not happy with how they looked. I used the Lakme Eyeconic 22Hr Kajal on my upper lashline and smudged it a bit.
Finally I took the Colourpop Honeydude n*de eyeliner and used on my waterline to make my eyes look a little bigger. And used the Essence Lash Princess Mascara on both my upper and lower lashes.
I loved how the look turned up as I was not sure since I was using this palette the first time. Also there are so many different combinations I can think of with this palette. It’s very versatile and the shades are perfect for office wear to weddings.
Honestly I would have liked 2 more shades for the price of 995, 8 shadows would have been perfect including one black and one highlight shade.
Many of you have mentioned the price being a little high, usually Amazon has discounts later on, but since this is Limited Edition, I am not sure till when it will be sold.
If you buy from Beauty Centres and are getting discount on this or there are some nice offers and GWP going on, then definitely grab this French Rose Palette.

New Lakme Absolute Illuminating Eyeshadow Palettes Royal Persia, French Rose Review, Swatches
Hi guys,
In my previous post on the Lakme Absolute x Sabyasachi’s ‘Illuminate & Shine’ Collection, I reviewed the new bronzer, highlighter and shimmer brick. (See HERE)
These two eye shadow palettes are also a part of the Limited Edition Sabyasachi Collection.
Lakme already has the day Gold and night Silver palette in this Illuminating Palette range, see the swatches of the Day Palette HERE.
Claims: They say it’s the eyes that gives you that extra sparkle. So as you prep for your festive looks this year try the new Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eyeshadow palettes to add to the glam quotient. These limited edition eyeshadows by Sabysachi Mukherjee have 6 versatile colours to play with and create stunning looks that are bound to turn heads.
Whether it’s the lovely plum tones of the Royal Persia palette or the warm earthy shades of the French Rosé palette, these unique shades are absolute must-haves.
Limited edition eye shadow palettes designed by fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee
High intensity powders
6 versatile shades that blend beautifully
Suited for most Indian skin tones
MRP: Rs.995/- each for 7.5g (Buy Royal Persia HERE and French Rose HERE)
Royal Persia has more purple/pink tone shades and French Rose has more warm browns/coppers. From the first look of it, I absolutely love French Rose! The shades are stunning and so apt for the fall/winter/wedding season currently. I can think of 9-10 different eye looks immediately looking at the palette.
French Rose is definitely very versatile and very flattering on Indian skin tones.
Both palettes have the usual packaging with a mirror and a double ended sponge tip applicator.
Honestly except for 1-2 shades, I was not so impressed with the pigmentation of the shadows in the previous day palette. This time I am blown away and how!
I had huge expectations from the palettes as the shades looked really pretty. And I am so glad Lakme has worked on the pigmentation this time, all the shadows are super creamy and buttery and these swatches are just one swipe each!
Top Row:
A coppery bronze, close to MAC’s Amber Lights (Amber Lights is slightly more gold)
A matte plum brown, this was the only shade with little less pigmentation compared to the other 5, but is easily buildable
A satin finish pinky red
Bottom Row:
A matte dark chocolate brown
A satin finish peachy pink, close to MAC’s Expensive Pink (Expensive Pink is a little more pinker)
A matte burnt orange with some gold shimmer
Each and every shade is super pigmented! This palette is a must have for all brides to be, it’s a perfect addition to your trousseau. I will be creating a look with this palette super soon.
Coming to Royal Persia,
Top Row:
A satin finish aqua blue
A matte purple, again the only shade in the palette which is not that pigmented
A matte slate blue
Bottom Row:
A satin finish plum
A satin finish light pink
A satin creamy beige with gold shimmer, very creamy.
This palette has more cool toned and grey based shades, and more on blue and pink lines.
All the shades in both the palettes are very creamy and buildable, except for one shade in both, all are pigmented and blend well into each other.
If you like warm shades, you can go for French Rose and if you like cooler shades, you can pick Royal Persia.
For me personally, I absolutely love French Rose and if I have to recommend one, I would say French Rose 🙂
I hope you liked the review, let me know your favourite in the comments below.
So as you all already know, Lakme launched these new products in their ‘Illuminate and Shine‘ collection during the last fashion week. This is a Limited Edition range brought in collaboration with Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
This range also has Illuminating Foundation and Shine Line liquid eye liners which I guess are permanent, only the bronzers and highlighters are LE.
There is one bronzer, one highlighter and two shades in the Illuminating Shimmer Brick i.e. Pink and Coral.
Lakme had this bronzer and highlighter earlier too and it was LE at that time too, so those two are like a relaunch. But I love the new addition of the Shimmer Brick.
All three come in same packaging, a flat round pan with a clear plastic cap. There is no brush, no mirror, no other compartment. The product is stand alone.
Sun kissed Bronzer
Claims:
Limited edition makeup bronzer designed by fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee
The bronzer is half and half with one part being lighter and one darker. It is very smooth in texture and though shimmery, the shimmers are not gritty or chunky. I found it slightly orange though, I wish it was a little more brown based. Also if one part could have been matte, that would make it ideal for contouring + bronzing
Moon Lit Highlighter
Claims:
A limited edition highlighter designed by fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee
Ideal for strobing
Reflective shimmer finish
Contains fine velvet pearls to give your skin a stunning glow
Coming to the Moon Lit Highlighter, one part is a white based lighter highlighter and one is a dark brown based highlighter for deeper skin tones, which is exactly the same shade as the bronzer. So this is actually be a bronzer-highlighter duo.
Bronzer part feels exactly the same as in the Sun Kissed Bronzer, I love the lighter highlight part. It gives the most stunning soft, natural highlight. You can use this on an everyday basis and no one would know that you have highlighted! But if you prefer stronger highlights like me, layer this twice over a creamy highlighter and this will stay in place whole day, giving the most blinding highlight ever 😀 See it in action in my video HERE
Illuminating Shimmer Brick
Claims:
A limited edition blush palette designed by fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee
My most favourite out of the three is the Illuminating Shimmer Brick. I have the shade Coral. Both the shades Coral and Pink are beautiful! Both would work for all skin tones, but if I have to suggest one, I would say Pink for fair and medium skin tones and Coral for deeper skin tones.
It has 5 strips of color, with the top ones being more highlighter like and the bottom ones being more blush like. So you can either use them individually or just swirl the brush all over and use on both blush and highlight part for an all over glow! The peachy coral tones work really well the gold based highlight colors and together combined, they give the most amazing peachy gold glow. This product is perfect for brides too!
The best part about all three is that they double up as eye shadows and look really good on the eyes. As the colors are bronzer and warm toned, they make nice lid colors and highlight for inner corner and brow bone or just a wash all over the eyes.
Overall, in my honest opinion, I would say go for the illuminating shimmer brick and the moon lit highlighter. You can skip the bronzer as the darker part in the moon lit highlighter is exactly the same. But if you are deeper skin tone and prefer deep highlighters only, go for the bronzer and skip the highlighter 🙂
I hope you liked the review, do let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
