Living Nature Luminous Pressed Powder Review

About Living Nature: Our products and brand are inspired by the remarkable healing properties of New Zealand’s native plants. The nature in New Zealand is truly remarkable with over 80 million years of complete geographic isolation. 85% of New Zealand’s native plants are not found anywhere else in the world and the bio-activity of some of these ancient species is truly amazing. Harakeke Flax Gel is nature’s super hydrator, Totarol a super anti-oxidant and antimicrobial, Active Manuka Honey is nature’s miracle skin healer, Manuka Oil is a powerful skin protector, and these are just a few of our unique Hero ingredients from New Zealand.

About the Luminous Pressed Powder

Living Nature Luminous Pressed Powder Review

What the Company claims: Natural minerals combine to make this powder reflective and refractive, adding a soft luminous glow to your complexion. Use as the finishing touch after foundation or tinted moisturiser, or alone for soft natural colour. Beautifully presented in our classic aluminium compact.

Powders appear darker in the pan than on the complexion so choose a shade darker than you would normally wear.

To use: wear alone or over foundation or tinted moisturiser. Apply a light covering over face with Living Nature face brush. Use powder puff applicator for touch ups when required.

For all skin types.

Living Nature Luminous Pressed Powder Review

I have the Medium shade of this luminous pressed powder. It comes in a Black aluminium case with mirror and sponge applicator and is refillable..Now if I have to end this review in two words I would say it is THE BEST. Period.

Living Nature Luminous Pressed Powder Review

I read reviews when I had not tried it, where people said its better and they prefer it over their MAC MSFN..I was like ya then it should be something. It evens out the skin tone, gives light to medium coverage and gives that perfect luminous glow to the skin. It does not make the face look cakey at all or give that too matte effect.

Living Nature Luminous Pressed Powder Review
See the little shimmer..but looks fab on the face

MAC MSFN also has fine shimmer particles that give that glow. MAC is priced at Rs. 1350/- for 10g of product and this is a little more expensive but then it has 14g of product and is also made of better and natural ingredients. It never broke me out. I did read reviews of MAC MSF on makeupalley and many of them said it broke them out..probably coz of the tons of ingredients it had.

Pros:

1. Awesome packaging..love that black case with a huge wide mirror and the design on the powder.
2. Gives light to medium coverage and evens out the skin.
3. It does give that luminous glow to the face true to its claim.
4. Has natural organic ingredients..now I would love natural ingredients in cosmetics.
5. Does not test on animals and recyclable packaging for all products.
6. Works equally well for touch ups with the sponge.
7. Perfect to carry..you would not need a separate mirror when carrying this as its quite wide.
8. Even though it has very fine shimmer it does not show up on the face and gives a pretty nice glow.
9. 14g is going to last real long.
10. It never broke me out.

Cons:

1. Sponge becomes quite dirty and cleaning that would be difficult.
2. Not available easily. Though you can buy it online here..they have a standard shipping of 10.00 US$ for how much ever products you buy. So if you buy only one product that would be a little expensive.
3. A little expensive but this is totally worth it.
4. Only 3 shades to choose from.

Overall I am in love with this !! Which you people must have guessed by now :p

Rating:

Quality: 5/5
Value for money: 4.5/5
Availability: 3.5/5

Overall Rating: 4.25/5

Would I buy it again: Yes I would surely get the refill !

Sorry for the long review but I had to tell how awesome this product is..

P.S: Product sent by brand for review but it has not affected my opinion.

    September 7, 2011 at 7:08 am

    @diane: Thanks..
@swati: process of manufacturing is different..both can be mineralized though..baked products have better pigmentation and most of them are more long lasting too..Laura Geller has best baked products 🙂
