Oriflame Coconut and Rice Milk Nourishing Shampoo Review

Oriflame Coconut and Rice Milk Nourishing Shampoo Review

Let me share with you all my experience with  this shampoo which sounds very good !!
When I first saw this shampoo in the catalog along with the other two shampoos..i.e Cotton and Wild rose Protecting and White Nettle and Papaya Anti Dandruff 2 in 1 Shampoo plus Conditioner. I loved the way it was described and it sounded too good. So I ordered it and then what happened read on…
What does the Company claim : Inspire your dry hair with a lavish, indulgent shampoo with exquisite natural extracts of coconut oil and rice milk to hydrate, nurture and condition.
A mild and gentle shampoo to effectively cleanse and nourish hair.
Directions for use : Apply to wet hair, massage into a rich lather and rinse.
Price: Rs.99 for 100 ml and Rs 159 for 200 ml. (I got it for Rs 79)

Ingredients :  AQUA, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, GLYCOL DISTEARATE, LAURETH-4, PARFUM, SODIUM CITRATE, POLYQUATERNIUM-7, GLYCERIN, 2-BROMO-2-NITROPROPANE-1,3-DIOL, COCOS NUCIFERA, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, SINE ADIPE LAC, TRIDECETH-9, ORYZA SATIVA BRAN EXTRACT

It is white in color and is runny. It has a very unpleasant strong coconuty smell.
Cons :

1.The smell !! It has a very strong coconut smell which is similar to a cheap coconut toffee…may be similar to that small red kismi toffee :p
2. It does not lather.
3. It does not remove oil.
4. t did nothing to my hair except giving it a limp feeling.
5. Has SLS and loads of other chemicals.
Pros :

1.   The bottle is good with a tight enough flip cap. I would re-use this to store something else while travelling.
2.    Its expiry is 3 years from the date of manufacture..i would probably use this for pedicure or something  :p
Rating- 1/5
Would I buy it again –Noooo…Never !!!

  1. Oriflame does not have good hair-care n make-up products. Skin care products are good (*not all), but their even out cream, grape antioxidant range is good! n high on prices too!!! 🙁

  2. ya..sum r good..I have heard gud thgs about even out cream, grape anitoxidant, honey and gold cream n giordani cream..d scrubs r very gud..esp d sea algae 1..

  3. i think i ll try the scrubs then … as you said this shampoo is loaded with chemicals but sure does look attractive !!! I thought the make stuffs were all good except for the stuffs i bought 🙁 … i was actually thinking of buying their lipsticks but i guess i stick to maybelline !!!

  4. lipsticks some are gud..d hydra 1 n types..buy if u like a particular color..d prob is u cant match d shades in d catalogue..
    n ya scrubs r veryy gud…!!

  5. Bhumika…the ingredients are always written in scientific names or names published by the company…Cocus Nucifera is coconut and ORYZA SATIVA BRAN EXTRACT is rice extract…well, I have hardly heard oriflame really working on someone…..seems they have reduced their costs too coz I remember their prices to be soaring high a few years back….

  6. That is a shame! Coconut & honey are one of my fav scents for cosmetics. I always buy a hand wash & hand cream in coconut and also love using The Body Shop coconut body butter.
Too bad this product is not good!

  7. @beauty addict : TBS is obv gud..der qlty is very different…
@nivedita: I know the description sounded too good and thats why I was tempted too 🙁
@anju : I dont thnk oriflame has good hair products..so stay away..try their hand, body n foot creams and scrubs..they are gud..

  8. hey bhumika… thank you so much for reviewing this.. i have very dry hair and so I was thinking of buying this shampoo and conditioner for myself… But now after your review, I am so not buying it ever!!! 😀

  11. Ooh so you guys have Oriflame too over there! I tried several of their products but meh, most of the time I got disappointed. >.< I was once interested in their haircare range but I’m glad now I didn’t act on it!

  12. the new hair X (esp the damage repair stuff) the condirtioner is good ! n the hair mask is exceptional ! leavs ur hair soft , glossy n volumised 😀 iv tried dove , sunsilk , garnier etc ! but this one was amazin 🙂
im new so this was my first buy n it was gr8 ! was checkin out the coconut n rice one but now i think i shouldnt ! maybe the olive n bamboo shampoo might prove btr 🙂

  13. @fifi: Not all combos are bad..you can try some other..
@hayse: Have not tried Hair X range..
@bharti: Oh it does nothing like nourishing !! :p

  14. Please, if you are ging to judge the ingredients of a product, learn to do so, otherwise you just missinform people. Cocos nucifera is coconut, oryza sativa is rice. Just a quick google search would have told you that.
